Quote: Survey Mission 4D Location: Isla de las Munecas Images:: x, x, x. General debriefing: A team of dedicated individuals looking to write a magazine article about the island visited the area two weeks ago. Despite search and rescue attempts, none of them have made it back alive. They have noticed however, odd dolls shaped like the team hanging from the tree branches... * C class difficulty level (must have a team of three, at least one of them must be an intermediate trainee) MECHANICS * MECHANICS: RP assembling a team, as necessary, before heading towards the Lighthouse portal to request a portal to Survey Mission 4D. Once there, roll a 100-sided dice and match the roleplay to the results below, as well as any reactions. Players can continue rolling until any of the players roll a INSANITY ENCOUNTER, in which case the BATTLE PHASE begins. See below for battle phase mechanics. 1- 20: The island is extremely foggy, the ground uneven and moist. You take a few steps in the soft soil until you hear a sudden crunch. You just stepped on the glass eye of a doll. 21 - 40: You notice that the dolls look to be in varying conditions, some with maggots curling out of them while others still look oddly new and untouched. All of the new ones are missing their eyes. 41 - 60: You notice a cabin deeper on the island. Inside is a small den, a few rooms, and a statue of a wolf head, creepily enough. The trap door in the center will not open but you can hear a music coming from underneath... 61 - 80: The wind begins to pick up, as the dolls begin to stir and move, as if with a life of their own. All seems okay until - you see a new addition to the lineup of dolls. Is that a doll of YOU? It is also missing its eyes. 81- 100: BOSS ENCOUNTER: - As you continue walking down you hear a large crack, followed by another. A strange gas explodes from underneath, making you extremely dizzy, as you cough to figure out what is going on, fighting for air now. You have exposed your entire team to a hallucinogen, making everything more terrifying than ever as your vision swims and hops uncontrollably and your hearing becomes muted. Something creaks, groans, lurches underneath you, but is that your imagination? - BOSS MECHANICS: This boss is a mob that has collective 100 HP. Every time you attack it (following the general battle rules), you TAKE 8 damage. AS you can't really see the boss, most of it will have to be dependent on what you can see, if anything at all, from strange faceless figures lurching, half-hopping towards you to the smiling dead coming back and swiping at you. Make sure to tally the boss's total HP (the damage you did to it) at the bottom of your post as well as your total HP and the damage you did that round. If the boss's HP hits 0, you have defeated it, and your team can now take the portal back. * 4 mission reward points for completing this successfully

Ami was itching to get out of the house, so to speak, which meant formulating a tiny team to go investigate some paranormal activity. It seemed they were still investigating the doll island, and Ami had to admit she was still curious as to what was going on there.
She looked at her phone and texted a few closer friends, only to find that they were busy for whatever reason. Instead she found herself picking from the bottom of her list. A random moon trainee she'd talked to maybe once or twice. Ami had the odd habit of seeing him around places, but never really talking to him.Text to Jason I will admit to this being somewhat out of the blue, but could you help me with a mission? Waiting by the portals. Bring a friend.

When his mobile phone began vibrating, Jason glanced at it to see whom was contacting him, and he had to do a double take. The caller ID told him it was Ami, and it took him a moment to remember just who she was; the same hunter whom had gave him the bandages. He hadn't seen her since then either. It appeared though that she needed assistance with a mission, and he was hard pressed to deny it. After all, she had helped him. Though he was also asked to bring a friend. There were a few people who came to mind, and after a few minutes of deliberation he began texting. Text to Solia Hi, I just received a mission request from someone. Would you like to come along? If so, meet us at the portals He then texted Ami before he set off for the portals

Solia was busy doing what Solia did best. Digging through paperwork and sorting it while memorizing the tiny details of each thing she was reading. After all, who knew, maybe she’d get a pop quiz on it later. In the middle of stacking up yet another new pile of old, misfiled documents, (all of them being about the cafeteria lunch menus. Really, she wasn’t sure why they kept them all on record so sar back but she guessed one could never be too careful), the text was from that guy. The one that made her hesitate due to all her previous accidents, (which she still felt bad about). But like she’d turn him down. Jason asked for help? Solia would give it her all. 110% hoo-rah! Quote: Text to Jason: Sure! Be there in a bit! <3 One second to wonder if he’d take the heart the wrong way, she still was out the doors and running down to the portals. When she arrived? BICHON MODE ACTIVED. Smiling, she waved at Ami. “Hiiii! Are you the one that called for a mission?”

As Jason came "over the hillcrest" so to speak, a light smile graced her face. It was rare to see a trainee so on time, and quite frankly, Ami appreciated it.
Then Solia.
No.
A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she tried to completely ignore their obnoxious addition. Next time, she wasn't allowing people to pick friends to come along. Tori had done it right, but Jason had made a grave mistake.
"We're going to an island. Writers have gone missing, dolls appearing in their place with their likeness," she explained briefly. "If you have pendants, bring them. Last time I didn't make it out. Secondly, bring any runics you're authorized to use, you'll need them." She debated telling them about the gas, but what good would it do? Jason would be paranoid the whole time, and Solia would active her "I'm the best Death let me find ALL the traps," which would only screw them over faster.
"Questions?"

Arriving before Solia and greeting Ami with a wave, Jason did not miss the sighing hunter when the other trainee had arrived. His brow creased slightly; Perhaps he had made a bad mistake in choosing the death trainee?
"Hi Solia" He greeted her as well, then listened to the mission debriefing. Apparently they were dealing with dolls this time. This gave him mixed feelings; on one side, they weren't very scary or threatening, but on the other hand...dam they were creepy. And if Ami hadn't beent able to get out...
"I have my pendant with me." He replied. thankfully a pendant did not need authorization to use, and he had managed to grab one on the way here. As for questions he had none apart from his usual 'can I go home and hide under my bed for ever' which he would never ask because he would never be able to live it down.

Solia had no idea what she’d done wrong, she’d only just arrived. Ami sigh must have been because she was tried. Obviously. Solia had yet to even start talking. No, it was a time to listen. As Ami gave them the information, Solia checked her gear, feeling a sudden blush as she realized she had no runic weapons really cleared. Deathsweeper she had passed, but not cleared for as far as she knew. A slight hypocrite was she. Just so long as Jake never found out… Who was she kidding it was Jake he didn’t read mission reports. But she did have a pendant, recalling it’s usefulness in the Haunted House when it came time to turn back. “No questions Ami! I’m ready as rain. And um, hi Jason.” She might had avoided eye contact, hand pushing back curls from her face. A mission with Jason and Ami oh god. Jason and Ami. JASON AND AMI. OH GOD JASON AND AMI. Her need to impress them both slightly kicked in. “Ah, lead the way. I’ll take up behind you? That was Jason can watch our behinds.” Behinds. Jason. Israfel was worried for Solia’s foot in mouth syndrome.

"No," Ami immediately dismissed. Solia could NOT go foraging ahead for the exact reasons Ami feared. "I'll take the lead this time. I've been there once before, I know the island better." Excuses, excuses. Really she just didn't want Solia ******** this up.
Why did you have to pick Solia, Jason?
With a roll of her eyes, she stepped through the portal, eager to get to work on the island. She didn't ask them any more babying questions, didn't give them any more valuable information (mostly because she had none to give). She just wanted to get this work over with before another geyser of gas sprayed her face.
This time, instead of heading straight in towards the jungle, Ami decided to move around the perimeter and find a legitimate path. As they walked, the silence taunted Ami. Twigs snapping suddenly became symphonies of noise, even breathing felt like a marching band.
A cabin opened up on their right, and Ami signaled the group towards it. Once inside, she found that it was a rather shanty place. Just a creepy wolf (hunters, perhaps?) and music. It gave her the creeps. "Let's look elsewhere ..."Quote: 41 - 60: You notice a cabin deeper on the island. Inside is a small den, a few rooms, and a statue of a wolf head, creepily enough. There were a few reasons why Jason had made this selection. Less to do with skill and ability to do the mission and more she was easier to contact and he knew she could use the experience on a mission.
'Shut up Zanth this isn't the time'
Though he could see Ami didn't seem to...work well with Solia. He wasn't sure why, but he nodded with Ami's choice to go in front "I'll watch our backs." He hadn't missed the death trainee's choice of words either.
Though regardless of how she said it, Solia did have a point. He was a moon, it was his job to watch their behinds. Backs, he meant backs.
Stepping through the portal, he brought up the rear of the group, hand already on his sword just encase something came at them. Already he was nervous as hell, jumping at the slightest noise. There was a fog around which obscured things, and as he planted his foot there was a loud crunch
"Gah!" He jumped back, lifting his boot to find the remains of a glass eye. Oh, it was only a glass eye...

So Ami wanted to lead? Solia was fine with that. “Makes sense! I’ll stick behind you then! Just tell me what to do and I‘ll get right on it okay?” Bouncing and bit on her feet, Solia was happy to play follow the leader. Stepping through the portal, she was suddenly glad she wasn’t the leader. Nope. Nope. This place had all her no vibes. So do now want. Dolls? ******** she didn’t think they would look like this… okay yeah no. Sticking close to Ami, Solia was happy to take the middle, even for the cabin in the woods. “Mmm I hope no one thinks we’re home invaders.” She didn’t want to get labeled that of all things but then… just them. They’d be fine. Why was she so jumpy? Jason’s gah was followed by a sudden ‘eep’ and Solia spinning around with her bow in hand. Looking down, “oh thank goodness just ah-“ A crunch she looked down at her own shoes with a sudder. “Why do eyes have to be so creepy? This is like a bad horror game. All that is missing are small dead children…”

Ami continued to explore the cabin, a bit creeped out by everything she saw. For a moment, she debated opening the trapdoor. Only a moment, and then the inkling passed. Mostly because she couldn't think of a single good thing that might come out of there.
Not to mention searching around the cabin bought her more time away from Solia's nonsensical blather.
"See anything?" she called out to the other two.

"Nothing yet" Jason hands gripped tightly on his sword, flinching again when his foot landed on another doll eye. Thankfully he didn't make any noise this time, and he continued to glance around, ready for anything to jump out at them (and hoping nothing did).

Peeking her head into the cabin, Solia smile lightly. “Nope! Just doll eye balls. And… dolls….” Looking from wolfhead to trap door, then to Ami the silent words of ‘I’m not touching that’ were clearly written on the death trainee’s face. Still she walked into the cabin after the elder girl, looking back to where Jason was. “I’m not like.. a burden am I? You just.. tell me what you need me to do and I’ll do my best okay? I- um.” She wanted to be helpful, but Solia wasn’t quite sure how to be. “I can just go hang out over by Jason if you want.” She actually kind of liked that plan.

Ami walked out of the cabin, about to order Solia to do just that, but a crack in the ground erupted with gas, and that order was cut short.
"No Solia, I think it would be wise to stay!," she shouted, just before the gas overtook her. Coughing and wheezing all around.

Jason had just stepped out of the cabin, also silently hoping Solia could hang with him, when the loud crack was heard. His eyes widened in horror at the gas that seeped out, surrounding them in it's toxic fumes.
"SOL-" He cried out, but was interrupted when he inhaled some of the gas, reduces to a mass of coughing and wheezing himself. His vision spun as he tried to locate the death trainee outside. Not that he wasn't concerned about Ami, but she was stronger then both of them, and Solia, she was so new and in-experienced...
The moon trainee stumbled on his own feet, his breathing erratic as he tried to draw air. Everything had taken on a horrifying edge that terrified him all the way to his bones, and while he could see what was behind the gas, he could tell something was there. Something big, monstrous, and deadly.
'Zanthvos, help me!'
With his blurred vision, he could barely make out Solia's coat, so he stumbled over to her, sword raised and ready to defend her against whatever threat was coming.
Which wasn't much, since he tripped over in the process
