Hey everyone.
A while ago there was a meeting about the Christmas event and an idea was pitched to have a number of shops all run by Annual Ball members. The proceeds will either all go to the Annual Ball or they will be split in a percentage that seems fair to whoever is running the shop. This is entirely volunteer and open to any kind of shop that you wish to run. Some ideas would be an art shop, a graphic shop, a sketch shop, a tarot shop, a pets shop, advice shop, etc. If you need more ideas then feel free to ask Jessieomer. She has had a lot of experience in running all kinds of shops and knows how to make a successful one.
These shops will be open only for the duration of the GAIA winter/christmas event. I make this distinction because, though the Annual Ball is doing a Christmas RP event, these shops will not be related. You can still participate in the RP if you have a shop. Having a shop will not restrict you from participating in the RP at all so, if you have the time, you're free to do both.
All shops should be up and ready by the end of next week, Dec. 14th. This includes a test thread (you can use the workshop subforum in this guild or the test forum on gaia forums) and any graphics. If you need graphics but aren't a graphic artist then ask in the artist forum. We don't need any fancy graphics for the temporary shop so don't stress over it.
All shops will be run by one or two people. Two people would be best, so if you have a friend in the guild that is a fellow artist or whatnot then you can open a shop together. You can even open a shop with one artist and the other dedicated to keeping the shop active by posting and greeting customers.
All shops will be posted in the GAIA event forum when it opens. Gaia always has a special event going on and there will be a forum open for it and we are going to take it over with an army of Annual Ball shops.
This is completely volunteer and not mandatory, so whoever wants to do this and has the time please post below with your idea for a store (only post if you are willing to run that store, do not post ideas for other people to run) and who you are going to run it with (or if you are running it alone.)
TL;DR version:
- we want lots of independent shops in the christmas event forum when Gaiaonline opens it
- shops will be volunteer with a share (or all) of the proceeds going to the Annual Ball
- shop owners are in charge of creating and maintaining their threads with graphics and activity
- running a shop will not exclude you from the RP event, but it is separate from the Host Club's Christmas event

I can easily do a tarot shop, or I can try to put something up for a pixel christmas themed shop (either soft pixel or hard pixel).

if we do a pet pixel/soft pixel shop I've already got some premade lineart we can work with. all we'd need is editing and coloring. Now the lines are for bears but i do have a one piece that we could possible use as an alt stage. We also don't have to use all stages. we can go from the fluff to the adult bear/roondolin (pandolin and racoon creature) the first stage is a fluff ball so it'd be easy to say its either one. So besides the thread graphics, the only thing I would need is a simple background to put them on.

i'm thinking bout reopening a cookie jar shop but i still need to design the x-mas cookies
but if that doesnt happen i guess i'll do a sketch shop.
i also have some crappy dragon lineart i made some years ago for a petshop that the person who ordered em defaulted on the payment for. so if you need some extra pets for a shop then i can hand em over... they are so uncute though...least to me but i guess eye of beholder to each their own.

Me, me, me MEEEEE! -bounces up and down excitedly hand raised- I wanna' run a shop with you! I need some practice and something to do! Just FYI I'm not on much during weekends [I tend to be forced to work theese], but most days during the week we're good.
