Business in the small establishment relaxed, in what seemed like record time, allowing Friday to finally end his shift. Any longer and the possibility of losing what little sanity he had left was imminent. Never did it occur to him that picking up a second job at a dinky, or so he genuinely believed, cafe would be such a headache. One would think the majority of money for coffee transactions would occur during early hours, but not here! Surely life could never aid Friday by providing him with an easy route. Oh yeah, take a left here and BAM everything you desire! Eh, maybe it did and he failed to notice. The path he endded up choosing was staring wide eyed at him, smile and all. So happy. Too happy.
" We're going home!? " A pale child questioned from the furthest booth. Even his voice was happy! How could anything in this horrible planet have that ability? It sucked away at any possibility that he too could ever be blessed with such an emotion. Pfft. Eyes rolled before an answer was given. " Yes we are! " The adult 'maturely' mimicked. Lemon hoped off eagerly, and made his way over towards his guardian. Damn those eyes Friday thought, analyzing the pair the young dust had. Absolutely stunning. None could compare to that shade of violet this kid was blessed with. " Then lets go already. My butt hurts from sitting all day. " Lemon frowned, even going as far as rubbing his bottom to emphasize. " Well, my damn life hurts. " Friday mumbled underneath a scowl. " You have to wait a sec. Need to change out of my clothes...." With a sigh the guardian sauntered to the back in order to change out of his dreadful uniform.
Lemon gave a small wave to Friday's back and attempted to patiently remain in place until the adult returned. A whole day's worth of unspent energy argued against better judgement and won. Without a second thought the color dust beelined towards the exist. What greeted him was a refreshing breeze that gave whatever exposed skin a chill. It was quite welcoming after a day spent indoors with nothing but the scent of coffee filling his nostrils. He took one deep breath, exhaled, and hopped down the small flight of stairs. The evening hues were quite pleasing to look at, especially against all the passing faces. Would Friday mind if they walked a bit before heading home?
