Her night had been terrible but at least she felt confident enough to head home at this point. The makeup might not have been the best match but maybe her sister wouldn't notice it? Better yet, maybe her sister wouldn't even notice she was gone or that she was coming home so late. She never used to do this, even after Bellatrix knew she was a senshi but after Xavier had left the rules started to get more and more sparse in her head.
She wasn't very far from home now but the closer she got the more nervous she became. Would her plan work? She was never very good at plotting foolproof ideas or lying so she was incredibly nervous, and combined with the fact her face had only swelled down a bit she had been rubbing at her cheek enough to smear the makeup. The bruise was a lot more visible than she had expected it to be and when she turned the corner to the front porch she realized something was off: It was her sister.

Bell probably wasn't as attentive as she should be where her little sister was concerned. She treated her more like a room mate her own age than a child, but Bell really didn't know how to treat children anyway. She could perform on stage for them, but actual interaction was another story.
Just like her sister, Bell was arriving home - pulling in to the parking spot in the car Xavier had left behind, the headlights shown right on the younger McMahon, allowing Bell a well-lit view of her.
Bell was fairly well versed in injury from this war - they all got them from time to time - but she had always had some measure of faith in the other side not harming Chibis. Apparently not. With a heavy sigh, Bell shut off the car, and the lights went off. There soft clack of her boots on the concrete as she stepped out of the car and leaned against the door.
"Youma, Nega, or Dark Mirror?" Bell asked.

She didn't know what to say. She thought she had everything thought out but she stood there like a deer in the headlights. It was obvious she was trying to think of something to say and finally she sniffled a bit. She didn't like getting in trouble and that's what it felt like was happening. She didn't want to cry, she wanted Bell to think of her as an adult. She resisted, biting down on her lip for a moment to prevent it from quivering.
"Negaverse... I think... it was a boy, he had something and hit me with it," she tried her best not to recall it out of fear the tears would begin again. It helped that she had the cucumber oil on her face to numb it out a bit but it was still there to remind her of what had happened. She wasn't strong enough, not at all like her big sister. She seen her fight before, she seen her help senshi like a pro. She idolized her sister, she wanted to be more like her.
"Why can't I be more like you? I just want to be stronger..."

"Strength and skill are two different things. I've been fighting this fight for years. With that comes experience. Experience that I've learned from. Skills I've picked up from those experiences."
Harsh truth. Years - so many years - fighting this fight. It could be tiring. Often she wondered if ti would ever end. Not all that she learned had been on the battle field though. After Tisiphone and that one Nega had tried taking her starseed, back when she was still a basic senshi, she had been afraid to power up, afraid to fight, but be knew she couldn't run. She took a martial arts class and learned self defense. She still went to class. Thinking about it...she should have been bringing Ainsley with her. Even before she discovered her alter ego as Hypnos.
"I'm not so strong, so much as I have a certain set of skills at my disposal. Would you like to learn?"

Her sister sounded so wise when she spoke and Hypnos simply nodded to her. So she didn't have to be strong to protect herself and others? She just needed the right set of skills? She couldn't help but wonder what sort of skills would suit her best. She wasn't a fighter and she didn't really want to be a fighter but that didn't stop others from want to fight with her. At times she didn't think about this but it was important to recognize.
"You will teach me?" She asked, her eyes practically lighting up. "I want to learn!"
She wasn't quite sure what she was getting into but she longed to do things with her sister and if this was the way to do it then she'd fight if she must to keep her.

Finally closing the car door Bell set her bag on the hood, back to her sister, then suddenly spun around and aimed a swooping leg to knock her sister's feet from under her.

Hypnos hadn't expected it when it did. It had been abrupt and before she knew it she had been on her back, her blue eyes looking up to stare Bellatrix in the face. It was still weird, you know? She knew it was her but she didn't make the connection the same way. She couldn't help but wonder why the same blue eyes of her sister looked as if they were the eyes of another.
It wasn't the time to think about that though, and before getting up Hypnos actually tried to mimic what her sister had done. By no avail did it have the same effect, and actually, it might have hurt her more than it should have. She pouted a bit, and crawled to her feet. She wouldn't complain, she asked for this. She asked to be treated like an adult every day, and now she was. Many people would treat her like a child but many didn't see it, they only seen senshi and Hypnos wanted to be prepared for it.
She stood tall, rising her hands up to protect herself.

"Horrible stance - a small gust could knock you over. Ground yourself - like a tree," Bellatrix harped...or instructed rather.
Having a little confidence in one's self worked wonders, too. Or at least faking it. And Bell was a master at faking it. She was an actress after all - even if it wasn't on a Broadway stage. That'd been her dream in the past. Now here she was, settling on becoming a high school drama teacher. The war had stolen her dreams. There was a deep hidden resentment there for it. More resentment than she could ever harbor for Xavier. Men would come and go. Dreams... Dreams were supposed to always be there for you.
Now they just lived in a nightmare.

Hypnos had almost no stance, it was true. She had no confidence that she could do this either. She was just a small child and she had almost no weight to ground herself from flying away should a gust of wind blow by. She could try, but would it really do her any good? She would try, she'd have to! She had the best teacher, after all, her sister!
"Okay," she said with a small nod, trying to be a tree. It wasn't very effective. What she knew of trees was pretty much just that they stood tall and doing that alone would simply make it easier for someone to knock her over. It'd be as easy to knock her over as Xavier's departure had been to her heart. She'd be crushed within minutes and have no idea what to do next.
Maybe it was best to see how her sister would react to being attacked and see how she stood? It wasn't her most favourite thought but Hypnos had quite a keen visual learning developed from reading plenty of books with pictures. From that thought, a sadly serious impromptu attack came from Hypnos, little hands out flat instead of what would have been better in fists. She put all the force she could usher into trying to push Bellatrix over.
This would be okay, right? She didn't want to hurt her sister...
