The fall from the chute was full of bumps, bruises and and an oddly soft landing, mostly squeaks and occasionally a comfortable whumph.

As students looked down, they would notice they were in a pile of toys. No, not a single pile: piles and piles of toys as far as they could see, in a room that seemed much, much larger than the entire factory above itself. Something groaned underneath them, but it wasn't the students. Instead, it was the toys the students had made, some of them still familiar, arms and legs in the wrong places, heads mismatched, several of them attempting to clamber up using disjointed centipede feet while others wiggled earflaps stuck to their eyes.

The broken toys groaned again, wriggling like a sea of disembodied voices, tiny stuffed pieces reaching up for the students, attempting to pull them into the pile.

"Does this please you master?" The voice seemed to mutter in unison, other toys, old, worn misfit things joining the fray, "Does it please you to create us like this?" Toys that did not even have bodies simply latched on with their enchanted thread and mouths alone. "Does it please you to see us suffer?"

There were simply too many toys. Too many, broken, horrific, mutated creations smothering the students with an oddly comfortable and yet slightly even more so terrifying embrace. And so the creators saw their horrific creations. And so they would die by them.

Or so they thought.

The ground shook again: yet unlike the incident with the yellow punisher, the paces were deeper, longer, more poignant. As the piles of toys shook, several of them began to squeal, scurrying away as fast as they could on mismatched limbs all directions away from the students.

And then a shadow loomed over them, easily encompassing the floor to ceiling.

"WHO DARES DISTURB MY SLUMBER."

"THE FURNACE KING," several toys wailed, screaming miserably as they tried to scramble out of their giant's way, several of them crying one last time as they were consumed almost instantaneously in flames.

"I AM INDEED THE FURNACE KING," the creature spoke, and yet it sounded like the low grating of coal grinding, of iron against iron, rusty and thick, "I RULE THE LAND BELOW OF MISFIT TOYS, AND I ALONE. I HAVE BEEN GRANTED LIFE BY MY CROWN OF POWER AND THUS I ALONE SHALL RULE THIS LAND."

That was as much introduction as the students go before, something came crashing down upon them, a single fist. Where his fist landed, several toys shrieked as they immediately perished, flames once again curling out from his fingers, his palm, his entire beating, beating at the students. "NOONE SHALL LEAVE HERE ALIVE, ALL MISFIT TOYS SHALL PERISH."

THE FURNACE KING

BOSS HP: 300/300

gaia_crown General Rules:
- As this still occurs in the warehouse, students are free to attack the Furnace king as many times as they want as long as they still have will points.
- exclaim Don't forget, before putting in your RP Post, post the CUMULATIVE HP OF YOUR ATTACK IN OOC so the next person has a chance to roll! exclaim
- If a student's will points hit ZERO: they lose all will to fight and simply collapse on the ground. Everything seems futile.. maybe it's better if they stayed here. Maybe the elves would accept them....
- WATCH THE BOSS PHASES CAREFULLY (see below)
- If you have not rolled will points yet, roll 1d10 before you start the boss encounter. This is the amount of ACTION (WILL POINTS) turns you can take. An action turn is any BATTLE turn!
- Make sure you post the total HP OF THE BOSS (from the person above your post minus the damage you did) as well as YOUR current HP. Check BELOW for phases to see how much damage you take!
- EXAMPLE: I am Sue. I have 8 will points, which I rolled 1d10 for (if I already rolled in the NAUGHTY OR NICE ROOMS I don't have to do it again, it carries over). I attack the Furnace King! I do 2d6 (first year) damage! My will points is now down to SEVEN. I attack again! It is down to SIX. I can attack as many times as I'd like, but once I hit ZERO, I lose all will to attack...
- If you have EATEN ANYTHING IN THE WAREHOUSE, every phase you heal +5 HP. So even if you skip a phase and you're on phase 2, you heal +10 HP.
- If you DISSIPATE/ HIT UNDER 0 HP, you are KO'ED FROM THE ENTIRE BATTLE and not eligible for phase 4. You will reappear AFTER this boss is cleared.
- Even if you are not eligible for the crown please still DO attack! You might be eligible for other prizes! (Plus that might be a good thing for your student...)

gaia_crown Phase 1: USE THIS PHASE AS LONG AS THE FURNACE KING HAS OVER 200 HP.

The Furnace King swings his fists about, each time he does so, they emit a horrible, burning flame, that not only corrodes Fear but seems to warp it. It is a familiar aura to any student or Horsemen who has encountered a Distortion portal...
- Each time you attack the Furnace King, his blistering heat acts as a natural offensive shield. You take -5 damage!
- If you see the cumulative HP of the furnace king UNDER 200 move to the NEXT PHASE.

gaia_crown Phase 2: USE THIS PHASE AS LONG AS THE FURNACE KING HAS OVER 100 HP.

The Furnace King is getting angry! He starts storing more heat! Steam smokes around him, making visibility extremely low.
- Your attacks are now blinded at times by a thick, hot steam. If you MISS in your attack, the damage that you missed for hits YOU instead
- You also still take -5 damage per attack you do!

gaia_crown Phase 3: USE THIS PHASE AS LONG AS THE FURNACE KING HAS OVER 25 HP.

- The Furnace King is in berserk mode! He attacks everyone indiscriminately!
- If you made a toy, you can now find it in the pile of toys. Or rather it has found you, in one last attempt to save its master. For EACH TOY you made, heal yourself for +5 HP.
- For every attack you land on it, you take damage equal to twice your attack.

gaia_crown Phase 4: DEFEAT/ FURNACE KING HAS UNDER 0 HP

- ????
- The Furnace King stills, quiet, still steaming, but the crown glimmers maliciously.....

OOC: CROWN

Being dumped into a room full of toys was certainly par for the course for Christmas so far, Canon thought. At least these toys were a bit more interesting. Since they seemed to want to fight, Canon did her best to oblige them. However, their soft little limbs swarmed over the Skark, beginning to drag her into the pile itself.

That is, until the toys were consumed in a wave of flames.

Canon looked up, and up, and up at the steaming behemoth, and grinned. Finally, a fight! She hopped to her feet, and ran at the King, scoring a very small scratch on his metal surface with her tail. She was scalded for her action, but the little ghoul didn't seem to mind in the slightest.

Since Thackery had been certain he was tumbling to his death, plopping down on a soft bedding of something-or-other was a bit of a relief. Until he realized what the soft bedding was made out of. Glassy toy eyes looked up at him with anguish, begging him for acceptance, crying out for love and care.

No, no. How could he have done this?! He'd just wanted to give a human scareling a good Christmas, to give them something nice and happy and...this was the worst possible backfire ever.

He tried to edge away from them, finding himself in a sea of rejected toys. He was going to die here, and he wasn't even wearing his best clothes.

A rumbling emerged before he could be too distraught, and the thing called the Furnace King followed shortly thereafter. The toys suddenly looked like a far more pleasant way to come to an end. At least he'd get to die by cute, and not being stomped on by that thing.

"Just because we're all a little different," he called, approaching the king, "Doesn't mean you should kill us for it! That's just...that's really mean!"

As one of the furnace king's fists swung past him, he lunged, clawing at it as ferociously as his humanoid form would allow.

Bumping into this and that as he tumbled, Shun grunted as he hit something a little hard before finally hitting the pile of toys at the bottom. He wasn't the only one who groaned too. Something under him had done the same. Actually... something was moving under him too. Well. Many things.

Furrowing his brow, he lifted himself to see what was happening here. Broken toys. Some of them looked familiar. Kind of like the ones that the other students had made. There was a ring of petals that looked like what he had done too but that wasn't quite as... vocal as the others. No mouth and all.

There was a lot of them too. And it was a little disturbing really, but he soon realized that there was a bigger problem at hand right now. Something called the furnace king. And he seemed pretty damn pissed.

... Well.

The Reaper wasn't completely wrong about an incinerator being at the bottom of the chute.

Slowly pushing himself to his feet, he stared at the hulking thing, grimacing as he boomed about 'all shall perish' and all that, destroying several toys in the process.

Well. He supposed it was also a good thing he had conserved his strength on top. The door was one thing, but this was definitely something that needed to be taken down.

Others were down here too, so he wasn't in this alone. Narrowing his eye, he summoned his daggers, then broke off into a run towards the behemoth. If it was a fight he wanted, it was a fight he was going to get for sure. Once he got close, he could feel the searing heat from the Furnace king. He couldn't linger too close for too long. He let out a hiss as he didn't completely anticipate this, barely managing to scratch the King before shifting back. He needed to tackle this a little more carefully.

If wasn't enough that they were asked to come here, and then dumped into a room that smelled like old elf, now they were here!? These Christmas creatures had a really bad sense of humor. "I swear to Jack, I'm going to kill every last Christmas creature I see!" Ugh, there was a reason why she hated this place, loathed it in fact, and this was it.

Not wasting any time, Mei followed a few other students and struck out against the creature they faced. However, the recoil from the blasted thing was enough to make her wince and draw back a few steps.

If someone had asked West to guess where he thought he might land, this heap of screeching patchworks wouldn't have been his first one. He kicked and punched at the little things as he rose to his feet, but they didn't put up much of a fight, especially after yet another monstrous thing came stomping toward the growing mass of students. For a place that prided itself on bringing joy and happiness, Christmas Town sure had a lot of monstrous stomping things.

The boil's eyes narrowed as this... Furnace King pounded on a couple of the wailing toys. Yeah, well, West had just done that himself. Unimpressed.

He moved across the carpet of squirming toys as quickly as he could, catching a fiery fist with his shoulder along the way. When he reached the king of furnaces, West lifted his foot, slamming it into his opponent's shin.

There were so many toys.

Sparrow glanced around in surprise as he tumbled out of the shoot, wincing a little from the sudden landing. Attempting to struggle to his feet, he started to clamber over the rather unpleasant looking...items...and tried not to let the fact that were creepily starting to move bother him.

"What are we - "

Something grabbed his leg, tugged at him. The toys were trying to pull him down.

"Er," said Sparrow, now horribly disconcerted by all of this. He yanked his leg free, stumbled backwards, and almost fell over into the pile of broken toys. Letting out a small curse, he held out his palm, drew the shadows towards him, and summoned his scythe, using it to prop himself back upright. He could feel the ground trembling beneath his feet, and then -

"Well this is, erm...problematic."

Gritting her teeth as she was jostled down into the pile of toys, Gene was thinking of just how awful Christmas was again, even if they did have delicious eggnog. Once she landed and the toys started being creepy, she was done - no more Christmas, even their damn eggnog.

Oh Jack...was that - yes. Yes it was that damn toy she'd built, the weird plush thing riding the weird half centipede. Good Jack, why had she built that creepy little screwball.

About to try and crawl away as it approached, she then heard the footsteps, and the thing they belonged to. Oh crap, what to do? Run, fight?

A fist landed, incinerating things on contact. Yup, definitely fight.

Transforming her hands into a nice pair of giant's fists, she delivered a solid uppercut to the self-proclaimed King, growling a little as she did so.

Landing on the pile of toys did not feel as comfortable as it looked for others. Perhaps that might have been because, just underneath her rear, a particularly sharp little leg jutted out from a half-caterpillar body, wiggling unhappily as it tried to dislodge itself from her. She bent to the side and plucked it out, rubbing her sore rear from the tiny little p***k, before flicking it away.

That done, she looked up from where she was sitting, her white gaze taking permanent residence on the king that stomped through the grounds, if only because it was easier to ignore the tiny, pleading toys that way. No one told them the toys would gain sentience. Riley truly wondered just how much of Xmas Town was actually a nightmare in disguise. It was a disturbingly nice thought.

She flickered her gaze briefly, trying to find Uller or Mort, but of course, the fight to bring down the King was priority, and she stood to lunge forward, claws and tentacles at the ready.

It felt good to fight again.

"Not again!" Toys! Always jacking toys! It could have been worse, he reminded himself. He could have dropped directly into a furnace or something, fueled by Joy and suffered an instant death. Instead, his fall had been cushioned by the massive pile and he came out of the fall unharmed.

Or at least until the metal giant--thing awoke.

"Hey. Hey! I am not a misfit toy! Don't go writing me off!" He growled out, but just as he moved to strike, a startled toy moved out from under his foot, causing the black dog to make a face plant in the plush pile.

Due to how the elves were chanting about toilets, Lizzy had expected to land in water. Instead, she found that while her landing was rough, she had landed in something soft. Upon closer inspection, she realized that she was sitting on top of a mountain of toy rejects... Toy rejects that looked like the one she had made.

She couldn't help feeling a pang of guilt as the toys reached out for her, pulling her down into the pile. Was this the end? Is this how they would die?

Apparently not, as the toys seemed to flee from something that was slowly approaching. As it got rid of several of the misfit toys, Lizzy shrieked; as much as she did not like Christmas all that much - with its Joy and cold - she helped make some of those toys! She had to protect her scarelings, wherever they were.

She decided to toss one of her boots at it.

Immediately after, however, she couldn't help feeling like they were doomed. Doomed to this place. Doomed to live in Christmas forever. Maybe the elves would accept her as one of them, and she would make toys for the human scarelings of the world forever. She faceplanted right into the ground, and stayed there.

To say the living doll was upset, was putting it lightly. Moving forward again she slammed her fist into the side of it, gritting her teeth from the impact and from the burst of heat radiating from the furnace king, Mei took this chance to back off for a moment. Holding her fist in her hand, she tenderly rubbed at it before taking notice of the black dog in the plushie pile. "Tybalt!"

Moving to his aid, she grabbed at the boil's shirt, giving him a light shake. "Tybalt, this is no time to be napping!"

Tomoko hit the floor feet first, and then dropped to her knees, panic in her expression at the slightly rough landing that jarred the feeling in her legs. "Oww..." she mewled pathetically, before looking up to get a good look at the room. She was nearly face to face with the first distorted toy she'd made, the other still wrapped in her arms.

Everything was capable of guilt-tripping Tomoko, including a toy with no face, the kitsune reaching out and carefully pulling the first toy she'd made into her arms and sniffling into it. "I'm sorry you're suffering because I'm a bad toymaker..." she whimpered to it.. and then the room seemed to boom, causing the kitsune to suddenly look up with a wide-eyed look of horror on her face.

"Uh oh!" she said and immediately picked up both the toys protectively, giving the Furnace King a fierce look. "Hey! You're not doing anything- " she suddenly tried to kick the thing, just to feel the king's flames on her leg and fall back with another pathetic noise onto her mass of tails - mostly painless for her - "You leave these toys alone! They're not misfit! They're perfect you big bully!"

The landing was thankfully soft when the hellhound pup made his touchdown from the skies the landing was with a thump and a soft set of squeaks that almost seemed delighted to be used. toys, toys as far as his little green peepers could see, some of which was their own, and the sight of his little caterpillar made him shout for joy. "YOU MIGHT BE GOING TO SANTA LITTLE GUY!" he cheered for the toy, and its floppy, glued on ear eyes and writhes in his hand.

But not everything was fun and games, He was glad to be out from the sad room, but after the burning of poor toys and their screams to run from the enraged self proclaimed king, it made the boil cower with his toy in hand. "I think we ended up somewhere even worse."

It was a bully, a bully with flames. it was worse than Danny and Jericho combined. 'Leave the toys alone!" Phos took his stand against the brute. "They just want to go with Santa on his magic sleigh and find a young human meatbag boil or ghoul to love them." It was wrong, so wrong what was happening, intolerable. Hwere was the Christmas spirit here.

In its own homeland no less. For once, as far as Demi could soo, Melas shared the sentiments. -lemme go take dis jacker on, he'll regret it.-

It left damien wondering if Melas's heart grew three sizes in a matter of seconds, but the reins were switched with the more battle ready boil and the pup charged in, feet kicking and shielding himself with a coat from the heat emitted. "Go t' hell b*****d!"
