Henry Muscae ♦
User Image
Main
Name: Henry Muscae. His birth name has been lost to time.
Nick Names: The Symbiote: based on the way his “soul spells” work.
Alias: The Soul Sorcerer.
Alliance: Altair Coven Vampyres*, and Fallen.
Race: Dark Sorcerer; Immortal.

❧Physical Characteristics
Age: 1100 years old. Physically he keeps his appearance to about 70 years old.
Hair: White. Age has turned his hair from brown to white, and caused it to grow to nearly the length of his lower back.
Eyes: Gray. When using his magic, they become fully black.
Skin Tone: Pale and pasty from lack of sunlight. His face is aged, but not nearly as much as would be expected.
Ethnicity: Caucasian; Europe.
Scars, Birthmarks, Tattoos: A large, gastly burst of scars across his chest over his heart.
Height: 6'5” … now more of a 6'2” due to the wear of age on his bones.
Weight: 140lbs
Marital Status: Widower.
Physical Structure: Lean and boney. When not altering his physical appearance, his face is sunken and his hands look to be nothing more than tight skin around bones.
Orientation: Straight.

❧Personal Info
❖Transcripts:
Alignment: Bad.
Criminal Record: Early records of sorcery, theft, murder, kidnapping, accusations of being a witch, accusations of being a vampyre...those are all the things he can remember being “chased down” for.
Level of Education: Self-taught and apprentice.
Current Occupation: Aid for the Altair Coven Vampyres.*
Past Occupations: Thief. He can't remember having an actual paying job.
Family: Charlemagne, Anita, and Laura... late wives and the only ones whom he can remember more than just what they looked like. As for children he can't really remember them...they had short-lived lives after all.
Lovers, Friends, and Others: *Lenore Altair: Head of the Altair Coven and Harry's current “employer”. *Michael Altair: Son of Lenore Altair. Other than that he has no friends or anyone of significance.

User Image❖Personal:
Personality: Greedy, egotistical, ambitious, and dark. He enjoys self gain and causing others pain. Partially because he can draw energy from their emotions.
People Skills: Poor. For the most part he is a recluse and avoids crowds or one-on-one confrontations unless he has to or wants something from the other person. Often when he has to make polite conversation, it ends with the other person leaving in the middle of the conversation.
Goals: Prolong his life as long as he can. He would like to be one of the last remaining enmortals on Earth.
Fears: Death.
Favorites: There isn't very much that strikes his fancy anymore. Though he does love to cause others pain or anger.

❧Skills,Abilities, and Powers
Skills: Charm, deceit, trickery.
Abilities:
-Magic User: Born from a village that practiced various rituals, Henry was born from and into a world of magic.
Powers:
Special Power:
-Binding Immortality: An immortality spell/ritual he had created for himself and others to use. Two mortals must preform his spell, binding them as “soul mates”, and instantly grants them immortality from age, illness, and various wounds. A minor curse is said to be bound with the spell as well, but few are deterred by the chance of such a thing.

What they don't know is that the spell also binds them to Henry's immortality. When one is killed, their share of the immortality goes to their soul mate, strengthening their immortality. When they are both killed, Henry's lifespan and health increases tenfold. The “curse” that usually accompanies the immortality spell is the eventual death of one or both parties in some “tragedy” or natural disaster.

-Emotion Feeding: Henry is able to draw from strong emotion in others. He uses this energy to fuel himself and his magic. The angrier he can make someone, the more he has to feed off of. This only works within a certain range.
For beings he has made an immortality connection to, he is able to draw from their emotions at any time and from any distance. This is one reason why he tends to encourage the death of one soul mate, so that he can draw from the pain of the second bearer.

-Physical Magic: Glamour, Physical alteration, slightly enhanced speed / strength / senses (to those of a "younger, sprier" man.) He uses this ability whenever he goes “out into public.” He will alter his appearance into someone less conspicuous, and give himself the strength to walk numerous city blocks.
-Dark Magic: Dark energy used to fuel magical spells, create constructs out of darkness, energy blasts, and offensive magic. With his warped mental state from overexposure to the “darker” aspects of life and magic, it is easy to charge up his dark magic with ill-intent and bloodlust.
-Necromancy: He is able to reanimate the dead, communicate and manipulate spirits, and transfer souls from one body to another.
-Shadow Summoning: He can create dark shadows to help shield his more vampiric allies from sunlight. He has also mastered how to use shadows as a means of transportation and physical constructs.
-Mind Magic: Hypnosis, and Illusions.
-Immortality
- Sorcery and Enchanting
Weaknesses:
-Holy Items
-Shining One Magic
-Sunlight
-Lethal injury
-Fire
Technology/Weapons/Paraphernalia:
Many of Henry's personal items have been enchanted to aid himself. Some of his robes have the ability to alter it's appearance to something more "modern", while other robes have been laced with defensive magic for armor purposes. He carries a staff with a red orb on the top, which he uses to concentrate his energy or aim a magical spell. He carries several small daggers for ritual and defensive purposes.

History
Henry's memory of his past is foggy. He recalls growing up among a small group of people who practiced rituals for just about everything. He'd even venture to say that his birth was because of one of their various rituals. He can't recall his birth name anymore...nor his family. He does remember being surrounded by spells and magic. His favorite being when the people tried to prolong their lives. He recalls many of them living long enough for their bodies to become too weak to stand, and he living beyond those who were younger than him. After that he can only recall his increased interest in dark magic. He blames his lack of memory due to time.

Eventually, he developed his own immortality spell. One that would grant himself extended life, as well as others who preformed it. The only catch was that it wasn't full immortality unless two of the three parties died, giving the third the full share of immortality. For that, Henry did what he could to convince others to try his quick remedy to long life. Then...if nature didn't take them...he'd make a way for himself to obtain the full amount of immortality.

In one particular instance, he found a young couple who were stuck in a bit of a unique predicament. With the woman being from a magical background, Henry knew it wouldn't be hard to convince them to try the spell. He gave the secrets to an immortality spell to Alexander Blackstone after he had asked for help. Henry claimed that he had swiped them from another witches book. With the way the family had been treating the couple, it wasn't hard for him to get them to believe the other witches were holding out on them. Neither Alexander or Edel had any idea what they were getting themselves into, or what kind of magic they were about to use.

Years later, Edel's family was hit with the “curse” portion of the spell. Blackstone was killed, and his share of immortality went to Edel. She was left with no memory of what had happened, and the magic linked to the spell prevents Edel from finding out what happened. One of the smaller details that Henry was proud of for his spell. He then fed off of the woman's grief, and held off on killing her when she turned to Black magic for help. He planted ways for Edel to obtain some of his other spells, but was disappointed when the woman became too frightened to preform any of the spells. Instead of collecting his share of immortality from her, Henry decided to bide his time and move onto other victims.

Now Henry is ….*working with the vampyre clan and sending meals their way? Biding his time before he collects on Edel's share of the immortality?

Henry in a more "modern" and less conspicuous disguise.

* = I'm still debating on / in the process of getting the “Okay” for this Vampyre coven. I also need to see if I'm going to have to fill in the blanks about the night Edel lost her family on my own, or if someone else wants to claim responsibility for all of that. If I do it on my own, there will be vampyres involved. If someone else does it, then Henry will have another ally.

((( Note: This character is more to clear up the vagueness of Edel's “immortality spell”, and give reason for her fears about dark magic. He's powerful enough to be used as a main character, but he won't be going around trying to sell snake oil to everyone he can. Especially if the vampyre coven is accepted. )))

This is a very detailed and well-thought out profile, Rosie. ^^ I admire the creativity with the character... however, there are a few concerns.

A. I can't find much of an explanation for Henry's decision to ally himself with the Fallen; did they make an agreement with him at some point in his life?

B. Skipping all of the other stuff since I find nothing wrong with it... all the way to the character's powers, which is my main concern, especially for the Binding Immortality Magic. I see the benefits and drawbacks that the spell has on those who are bound to it with him... but there's no drawback for Henry at all. Is there a consequence for him as well? Second, being able to draw on the emotions of the person he's immortally connected to at any time and at any distance? Again, where are the drawbacks for him? Third... that's a LOT of magic. I mean, I see the weaknesses that he has, but compared to the magics he can use, he's utterly invincible. Of course, I can understand the reason for him to use Physical Magic; any younger and I would have given Henry $50 and directions to the nearest Mickey D's. However, are almost all of the magics really necessary for Henry? Even the other characters who use magic don't have nearly every single type. I strongly advise toning it down; considering his magic is of a darker nature, he can use Dark Magic and Shadow Summoning... but everything else seems unnecessary. Being able to use almost every single type of magic makes the character look overpowered.

That's basically all I've got to say for my review.

Thanks. ^^ To answer your questions and conserns:

A. I am working that out right now. ^^ '' I am making a Vampyre Coven that he will be involved with. I also figured that the villiage he grew up in were into Dark Magic and calling upon darker beings. He would be more likely to ally himself with beings that could offer him power or self gain.

B. Yes, should he be killed, then his immorality will be split among those who are connected through his spell. It's basically whoever doesn't die gains the immortality from the three. Any of them can gain the full immortality of the spell, but Henry likes to make sure he's the one that lives, and the two others are the ones who die.
For the emotion feeding, again it can go both ways. It is linked to the immortality spell, but for those he tricks or convinces into using the spell...he leaves that bit of the spell out. So he preforms it himself, while the two others don't know to preform it. Should someone figure out to preform that small addition (or find his notes....which Edel doesn't even realize she has), they can turn the emotion feeding around on him, and feed off of his emotions as well.
As for the magic.... ^^ '' I'll tone it down. Dark magic and his personal spells are his main "attacks" The others were things I thought he might have learned during his long life. If he looks overpowered despite that, I will tone his powers down some.

Thanks for your imput. 3nodding

I thought you would have been approved by now... ah well. APPROVED.

"He's got friends on the other side..."

...I'm hoping that was just an echo. *looks around for moving shadows*
