Every two weeks Theodora received a care package from her family back in Greece, and this time she'd also received a bank transfer with a considerable amount of cash. It was more than her usual bank transfer for living necessities, and in the letter with her care package explained that it was an early Christmas present, and that meant one thing: Shopping! There were so many things she could buy, and before she even considered making a list she was out the door on impulse.
The mall was packed, but given it was only a few weeks before Christmas it was no big shocker. It made her choice on where to stop very easy though, causing Theodora to steer right into the first store by the door. She didn't read the sign given that she passed both kitchen supplies and furniture within a few seconds of walking in it was obvious it was a multipurpose store. Her eyes fell from item to item as if she was bored as she shuffled in and out of the crowd. Boring, boring, interesting but useless, boring, boring... jackpot!
Theodora had stumble upon the small toy area, and there on display for the holidays was a unicorn plushie with a cute reindeer antler headband on it. There was no thought about it, and immediately Theodora needed to have it. She couldn't just carry that all the way to the front of the store though, someone might see her! She had to be careful, she had to get camouflage for it! The only suitable solution was to get a basket and then bury it safely under other items she needed to buy.
Six but very necessary bottles of shampoo were the first item of concealment, laying on top of what was definitely a very misplaced baby bib. It was enough to cover what she was trying to hide, making her able to browse the store further for things she might actually want.
She turned the corner of the isle and then she bumped into someone! She swore on habit but other than that she didn't say anything, in fact, the only thing she did was move her basket behind her in an effort to conceal what she had. Subtle, yes, so very subtle that Theodora wanted to smack herself but it was too late. She tried to cover up her mistake by making it seem like she was bored, swinging the basket around to her other hand and then keeping it by her side.
"Sorry," she groaned, a thick accent covering her words as she tried to move the focus.

Ilse didn't normally do a lot of shopping at the mall. A majority of the time, if she needed something, she ordered online, because there was a major lack of import shops in Destiny City, but the holidays were coming up, and holidays meant gifts. And despite what others might have assumed, Ilse had friends, or at least online ones, anyway; she had some pen pals, too, and there was the occasional Crystal student that she was acquaintances with, but surprisingly enough, Ilse had people she called 'friends'.
That, and Ilse needed some more bubble bath.
Basket in one hand and cell phone in the other, Ilse had been browsing the gift sets for sale when she felt someone bump into her. Irritated that someone interrupted her browsing (and that someone could be that clumsy in general), Ilse turned around to face Theodora just as the other girl made an attempt to hide her own basket.
Suspicious.
"You should watch where you're going," Ilse said, perhaps a little harshly, but it was better than saying something like 'Excuse you', right?

Theodora might have been more offended by Ilse's comment about how she should watch where she's going if it didn't equal a garble of words in her head that didn't exactly make a sentence. It would have been especially insulting given Ilse seemed to be using her phone and walking at the same time yet it was her fault she'd bumped into her.
"Yeah," she simply said, sliding a couple steps away. She was putting on a good face if she ever had one right now. "Sorry.
Merurulince Oh my gosh! I am sorry for the delay!

Unfortunately with Ilse, everyone else was at fault, but never her. There was no way she could ever be in the wrong, and it applied towards this as well. Besides, it was totally Theodora's fault for not watching where she was going. As the other girl started to slide away, Ilse watched her, finding her to be rather suspicious. Normally, she would have probably gone back to her own business after Theodora apologized, but Theo was acting so shady, and Ilse wanted to get to the bottom of it. Shoplifters wouldn't be tolerated on her watch. "-- Just what are you trying to hide?" Ilse suddenly asked, taking a step forward.

Hide? Hide was a word Theodora recognized. She knew the meaning and immediately she suspected this girl. THIS GIRL WAS OUT TO RUIN HER. She didn't know her but what if she managed to tell everyone that she had an unicorn of all things at the top of her shopping list... and bottom... and entire middle section. No, she was not having any of this. She began to move backwards, not suspicious at all.
She was past that, and just wanted to get past this girl. Or around. She wasn't going to risk going by her, and immediately upon reaching the end of the aisle she turned the corner and booked it! She was running through the hall of the store, making her way to the check out line. It was Christmas though, and the lines were soooo long! She couldn't risk this girl finding her there, so she quickly stuffed the toy into a shopping cart before the girl caught up and then turned into another aisle.
SHOES. It was a shoe isle. Hello. She didn't have much interest in shoes since they weren't very practical but her mother just loved to send her all sorts of girly shoes. If anything, she could pretend to be looking at them and maybe that girl would walk right by her. She had suspicions that she wouldn't simply give up because she ran away.
