Mito was happy to spend some time relaxing. It felt like he hadn't been out and about in the rogue lands in a very long time. What had he been doing? Just faffing about inside his cave for what felt like years? In any case, it was good to see the sun again.

He was happy to be a free lion. Being a rogue was a good thing. He sighed contentedly and moved himself to a small puddle of water that had collected from the passing rains, getting himself a drink while he had the chance. There would be little opportunity once the water sank into the dirt.

Lapping up the water, he pondered what he would do that day. He didn't feel like spoiling it hunting, so perhaps he would find a nice place for a nap.

Naps were good.

Mito heard someone heading his way, lifting his head to look over at the newcomer. He smiled warmly, offering her a happy hello. “Well, it’s nice to see someone else around here!” He said merrily, “are you just passing through?” He blinked, realizing he was being a little too rude for his own liking.

“I’m sorry! I should introduce myself first. My name is Mito, it’s very nice to meet you. What’s your name?” There, not he wasn’t being a complete jerk, was he? Smiling, he sat himself down, watching her without trying to give the impression that he was trying to be rude or intimidating.

He was a pillow.

Mito smiled. “Oh, so you live around here?” He asked. It was normally his business to know everyone in the area, and to befriend them. Though he knew it would be foolish of him to think he could meet everyone in the area. With all the rogues coming and going, it was unlikely he would ever come to know how many were actually living in the area. Maybe that made it fun.

Smiling, he scooted himself a bit closer to her, sitting down and letting his tail whip around his body comfortably.

“Nyota is a lovely name,” he told her happily, “I’m always happy to meet new lions, especially ones who live around the area.”

"Oh, you're joining a pride? Do you know anything about it? What kind of place is it going to be?" He asked lightly, happy to have a nice conversation with someone new. She seemed reluctant to go, but it seemed it had more to do with change than because she didn't really want to leave. Change was difficult for everyone. it had to be a little frightening, even if she was actually super excited about going.

But he didn't know one way or another.

"Me? No, I've never really thought about living in a pride before. I've raised myself to love the rogue lands. No better place for a nap, right? But more than just that... I would feel bad not being able to contribute much to a pride. I'm not really built for anything other than being big and squishy."

Mito frowned. "Oh, a fire? That's horrible! I actually know that pride- I met a lovely female from there one time, and I do believe I know have some family living there. I hope everyone's okay... it's been a long time since I was in that area and I had no idea about anything so terrible happening." He frowned. While he hadn't fallen in love with the female, he had thought of her as a friend, and he was worried about his children, some of whom still remained in the pride.

It was displeasing, to say the least.

"Do you mind if I come with you, at least for a little while? I don't know where the new lands are, but I am interested in seeing if my brood and my good friend are alright after such a tragic thing."

Mito smiled when she said he could tag along, moving to get beside her. He was a larger lion than most, and quite round to boot. But he didn't mind- he liked to say it was mostly fur, even if that probably wasn't true. He was a large lion, and he didn't like to hunt or fight. Such a waste of strength.

"well, I hope we have a good adventure getting there. I haven't had a nice walk in a long time." he laughed merrily, his fur bouncing, "I could use one!" He took to following her lead, since he had no idea where they were supposed to be going.
