She was twelve and fighting Chaos monsters.
Not officially, of course. Not when her mother was still alive and reigning as Queen. But one day, Euthalia would take up that mantle as Queen Chronos of the Zodiacs, and battle experience was a good thing to have. And thus, Euthalia had to fight-- always known that this was what she was meant to do-- had to step out there when the time called for it, and fought alongside those older than her. She had her Seasons, had her Zodiacs, and it served as a constant reminder of what was inevitable.
She was twelve and already had battle scars.
And yet, the Princess still smiled, even though yesterday's battle had drawn blood from her. She had stood her ground until the last of the Chaos monsters were gone, and hadn't even really noticed the extent of her injuries until someone scooped her up into their arms and brought her to the Virgo Outpost. After the healing was done, Euthalia had insisted she was fine, really, amidst all the worry, and returned to the Castle. The Princess had decided too, that instead of resting in her room, she would much rather spend time in the gardens.
...Even though she had been brought to her room anyway, she had managed to sneak out. She knew that they were concerned, but she could, at least, get a book from the library to read!
Now to be careful lest she accidentally ran into someone...

He was twenty-seven and fighting Chaos monsters.
Celsus, Squire of Chronos, supposed that he should have been a Knight by now. After all, he was in the older age range than most, and he had been a loyal servant of the queen and her daughter from the start. But his lack of physical training and idealistic goals had not exactly been the most helpful in terms of progressing his status, so it seemed.
And so he remained a Squire. This did not make him unhappy, exactly; he enjoyed his work and he would die for Chronos and her daughter. But sometimes he wondered wistfully whether or not he would ever be able to be stronger than what he was.
Sometimes he got too frustrated - and when the frustration irked him, he set about to walking it off, taking refuge in the gardens, which were calm and peaceful and reminded him of his sanity.
On this particular day, Aurelius was set about doing just that - going to the gardens - but before even reaching his destination, he had discovered a slight bump in his plans.
"Lady Euthalia, might I ask, what you are doing sneaking about?"Melodine Cantus omg I am so sorry for the delay work has been kicking my butt @ A@

She jumped.
One would think that the Princess of the Zodiac, with much battle experience under her belt, would be more ready and less surprised by someone noticing her. But at the very least, Euthalia thought, it hadn't been Zue, as she turned around to give Aurelius a bright smile. "Aure! Shhhh!" A finger was placed on her lips as she scooted towards him and gave him a quick hug.
Well, it looked like her plan hadn't worked, but she could certainly rework it! And if she had someone to accompany her, then maybe she wouldn't get yelled at for not resting. "I've been ordered to rest in my room, but I'm all healed up now, really!" Cerise eyes blinked innocently up at the Squire as she stuck out her arms for inspection. "Would you keep me company, Aure? Then Zue won't be mad at me for sneaking out alone when I have a chaperone."

Aurelius's smile was both gentle and exasperated simultaneously.
"You really are such a troublemaker," he scolded her, but he patted her head affectionately and glanced around the hallway to see if anyone was coming. When it was perceived that the coast was clear, he looked back down at Euthalia.
"Oh, you are, are you," he said dryly. "Well, I'm quite certain if there were any lingering effects to your injuries, your sheer willpower would have gotten rid of them. Come, little princess, let us head to the gardens. I'll keep you company."
