The morning was a refreshing one still decently cool from the night before with the sun only barely peeking over the horizon. Rangi sat at the base of the rocks that led up to the pride den on pride rock. The land was still so new and with all the faces he had seen pass by him he wasn't sure if he would ever know everyone that lived in the pride. Sometimes it felt overwhelming to him after having spent all of his life before now as a rogue with very little contact with other lions.

He knew how to socialize with them from the time he had spent with his mother as a cub and adolescent before they had parted. Even with that training she had given him he still had to seperate himself from all the other members from time to time. This morning was one of those times. During the night he had started feeling claustrophobic among all the sleeping lions so he had slipped out of the den and come to sleep where he was. He had only just recently woke and was now just enjoying the cool of the morning.

Leilusae did not live with the other lions in the main den. Her parents had settled on the border to have their family, and she had had little reason to leave her mother just yet. The pride held little draw for her as of yet, though she did make a habit of occasionally making her way down to the monument for conversation and meeting newcomers. It kept her from feeling completely like a hermit out on the outskirts with no one but her mother and father for company. She enjoyed company, even if she was finding she was rather shy so far as making friends go.

Of course, likelier than not, she was simply out of practice. All the same, introducing herself to others was a good behavior to get in the habit of and she could always use new friends – everyone could always use friends, right?

She had left early in the morning, just as the sun had started to peek over the horizon, and knew she would get there with plenty of time to view the newcomers. Imagine her surprise when she came around the bend and nearly stepped on a lion she did not recognize. Stumbling back a step, she looked around before clearing her throat, "Hello."

Rangi nearly leapt from his skin as a lioness rounded the nearest corner and almost ran him over. When she stepped back so did he and he looked her over. He hadn't expected anyone to be out so early but she was coming from the prides lands not from the den. Where could she have been at instead of in the den. He heard of some going hunting at night but she was alone and usually members went in groups to make hunting easier. Maybe she had just gone out for a stroll. He could wonder all day long but there was only one sure way to know and that was to speak up.

"Hello." He replied with a happy esxpression. "You're up really early. Are you a pride member?"

She returned the once over, albeit as covertly as she could manage as she did not want to seem unnecessarily untoward. She had not the slightest idea what was going through his head so far as she was concerned, but she was wondering about him. He was new, she assumed, but she was curious as to why he was sitting outside so early. Her caramel hued eyes creased in curiosity as she tossed a bit of fluff out of her line of sight in order to look at him, "Hello." Repeating seemed fine enough.

"I am." She wanted to ask the same without seeming accusatory, "I live nearer to the border, but I like to head in to.. meet up with people."

Her reply to his question was intriguing. Rangi hadn't known that not every member of the pride lived in the den. He thought all the members slept in one communial area and now he wondered how many other lions slept somewhere else.

At her statement of wanting to meet up with others Rangi perked up his ears. "So are you looking for a certain individual or just anyone?" He asked curiously while wondering if she was meeting up with a certain someone why did they want to meet up now at such an early hour. Oh all the curious questions he could ask but it would seem just a bit too nosy.

Leilusae's family's reasons for settling on the edges of the pridelands had not been passed down to her, and she had never thought to question the decision made by her parents some time before her birth. Whether she liked it or not – and some days she did not – this was her life for the time being until something gave her reason to change that.

"Oh, no," she murmured with a soft blush beneath her tan fur, shaking her head, "No one in particular. It's just the best way to meet… anybody that actually belongs to the pride. I meet rogues back home, but I meet pride members here." She smiled tentatively and shrugged, "The walk is easier earlier rather than later. Are you new?"
