Ainsley had borrowed a couple books from the library but it had been several days and she hadn't found the right time to look at them. Every day there seemed to be something else that was more important to be done that was forced upon her from school to household chores with Bell. She was determined that today would be the day she'd finally be able to though!
Just to make sure nothing came up to surprise her, Ainsley had decided that she would take her study elsewhere. It meant she had to go outside though so to ensure that she wouldn't be uncomfortable with the chilly weather she made sure to dress warmly with winter leggings and a scarf to top of her usual attire before gingerly placing the books she borrowed from the library into her backpack and heading out for the park near her home.
It was a short walk but it was mildly entertaining thanks to the piles of leaves and the friendly neighbourhood strays that Ainsley stopped to play with. She didn't linger too long, although she felt guilty when she looked back to see them following her. It caused her to stop and play with more before she realized she had to leave quickly and not look back or else the cats would simply continue to follow her.
Her arrival at the park was not what she expected though. Instead of being greeted with a comforting, quiet place to work she quickly found herself walking away in search of a new place. There were a surprising amount of children here today, and soon Ainsley began to suspect there may be a celebration of some kind happening with the appearance of balloons and what appeared to be someone with rainbow hair. As interesting as it may have been, or how much it appealed to the child to investigate further: Ainsley was determined to do what she set out to do.
The library was the next logical place to go given expectations and location but when she got there she found herself realizing that there was an event going on which made the library less desirable than usual. Who wanted to read books on rope when there were stories and fairytales being told? Ainsley couldn't bring herself to sit there and read under such circumstances and found herself with one last choice. There was one place she could go that there was no way anything would disturb her: Hypnos.
Jolting behind the library the child quickly powered up into Hypnos before anyone could take notice of her. The bag that had fallen onto the ground in her powering up was scooped up and her senshi phone was taken out. She concentrated, pressing the button on her phone as she willed herself back to her asteroid. She really wanted to go, but as a side will she hoped direly that she wouldn't end up in the ocean this time.
She didn't take traveling magically as well as she would like so when she landed on the ground with a thump her eyes finally shot open, her head swinging around as she made sure she wasn't in the ocean. It was kind of obvious given she was not drowning but it was a subconscious reaction to her first visit here more than anything else. It wasn't the ocean though, in fact, she couldn't see the ocean. The only thing she could see were cliffs of mountains.
It was amazing! Hypnos was in awe at the sky which seemed to glitter with stars and what seemed to be ice. She'd never been to this area of her asteroid before but it was quite cozy. There was lush grass to sit on and tall trees to keep the sun directly off her. The temperate weather thanks to the desert climate made it quite warm and Hypnos immediately was thankful that her outfit changed to her fuku from her winter clothes when she powered up.
This would be perfect! So perfect that she even had had a blanket in her backpack that she brought just in case it got a little too chilly out at the park. She spread it out along the ground under a large tree and flopped herself over it. She was smiling, rolling around until she was flat on her back with the sky above her. It was comfy, so much better than it would have been if she was just on the grass.
She stayed there for awhile before she decided that it was time to finally get to work! She had no one to bug her (or she hoped so) and soon she dug the books out of her backpack and spread around her. She would look at them one by one, and slowly the facts would swell around her mind like space and stars.
