Adessi stood in front of her side of the closet, staring at the clothes she had. Eno had said that River was coming to visit, so she wanted to look presentable. With a sigh she eventually picked out a dress and changed, but then returned to the closet for a jacket. The heating had either broken or had been shut off the night before and it was rather cold in the house. Even with her numbed nerves, it was uncomfortable.
She headed to the front of the house and climbed up onto the window seat to stare outside. It was already snowing a little, which probably meant that River would be delayed. So she thought, anyway, but after awhile something in the sky caught her eyes. Was that him flying...? She narrowed her eyes and leaned closer to the window, as if that would help.

Zahur, though he radiated heat it seemed, did not do will in the cold. He was much more wrapped up then Adessi was, with a sweater, scarf, gloves and a hat on. His winter 'jacket' really wasn't up to snuff and never helped so he chose not to use it. It was a bit too small and restricted his movements, which he hated tremendously.
He had been going through some of his things. His father refused to take his things to sell, so he was left putting everything back in their place once again. He, however, noticed Adessi moving to the front of the house and was quick to stand and move to where she was. The air around him WAS warmer, enough that Adessi should make notice of.
He looking in the direction in which she was. "Father says River is coming for a visit." he said with his usual quiet voice. "I wonder if that is him"

Adessi shivered a little, the increase of heat in the air definitely helped. She nodded a bit and then looked back at Zahur. "I think so. He has blue and white wings, right?" She turned her eyes back to the sky, watching as the figure started to come in for a landing.
It was admittedly sloppy to watch, the poor guy stumbled and nearly fell over, having apparently tripped over a tree root or something. Luckily he seemed to regain his balance and started walking for the door.
Adessi hopped down from the window seat and shuffled over to the door. "I hope he is as nice as Father says he is." She shrugged a little, and then reached up to open the door to peer outside.
River was not the best at flying, probably because he was so darn light, but it was the fastest way to get home without a car. The breeze had been knocking him around the whole way there, so by the time he landed he was pretty worn out. No one ever seemed to mention that flying was one hell of a workout...
He sighed and straightened himself out, then walked up to the doorstep. It seemed that his new sister had already opened the door, which was nice. She seemed familiar, he'd probably seen her from a distance at the nightmare before Christmas ball or something...
"Hello, you're Adessi right? I'm River." He smiled a little. She backed further into the house, moving closer to... Zahur. River felt a little squeeze on his heart. He was so bundled up... Eno had told him that the heat was out but... Seeing them like that brought a frown to his face.
"And Zahur. Its nice to meet you both." He shut the door behind him and knelt down. "So... Its really cold in here." He looked around, frowning a bit more. Everything seemed so much more bare than he remembered...

"I am sure he is." Zahur replied as he opened the door to let River in, closing it once he was inside.
Zahur looked at this older meta, thinking this was the first time meeting him face to face, even though the elder one knew better. He looked just like in the pictures his father kept of him. He nodded at him.
"It is very nice to meet you too brother River," he said before looking around. "Yes, it has been rather cold. I cannot say that I enjoy it much, but it is what it is. I just hope it does not make Adessi or father sick..."

Adessi nodded a little. "Father said the heating broke. It breaks a lot." She shrugged a little, watching River almost cautiously. He seemed to be acting weird about Zahur, too.
River sighed a little. "It did that when I was little, too. You know, I asked dad about it, and he said we can go out to get some lunch if you two are up for it." He stood up again, smiling a little. "We'd have to go out in the snow but there's a place not too far from here that's pretty nice, has hot food, too." He nodded a little, then brushed some of his fluffy hair out of his eyes.
Adessi looked to Zahur, and blinked a few times. "If Father does not mind, I would like to go. But only if Zahur can come, too." She nodded and then folded her arms across her chest.
"Of course Zahur can come! It wouldn't be a family thing without everyone, would it?" River did not really understand what she meant by that. Eno had neglected to mention that Zahur was not allowed to be anywhere unsupervised.

Zahur perked up a bit, as he did when the Elder had come to take him hiking.
"That would be most enjoyable. Father does not like me going outside the home, so I have been inside a lot, but if you are taking us I am sure father would be okay with me leaving for just a little bit." He smiled a small smile, but to Zahur, it was a huge grin. "If it means going somewhere, I am very okay with walking in the snow. It is enjoyable to look at anyway, I just do not like that it is cold...."

He wasn't... allowed outside? River blinked a few times, momentarily losing the cheery aura. "Oh... I'm ... I'm sorry Zahur, I didn't know..." River's brow furrowed a little, he'd have to come visit more often if it meant Zahur could get out more. "Well, then lets get going, maybe we can sneak off to the recreational center while we're out, too." He grinned, and offered both of his hands to the kids.
"But Father only said we could go to the restauraunt, right? We will get in trouble if we go to the recreational center..." Adessi took River's hand, seemingly unsure about the second part of the trip.
"Sometimes dad gets really protective when he's stressed out, and doesn't like to risk anyone getting hurt that he cares about, but that's not very fair to you guys... so we can go if everyone promises to keep it a secret between us, okay?" River shrugged a little.

Zahur shifted uncomfortably at the deviation of plans. He really did not want to make father any more stressed then he already seemed to be, but the again River knew father better then he did. Still, he took his brother's hand.
"Perhaps a quick trip wouldn't hurt....I've wanted to see the recreational center for a while..." he said. He honestly just wanted out of the house, so perhaps a little deviation from his father's wishes wouldn't hurt if father never heard about them. He looked at Adessi, as if wondering what she thought.

"All right, how 'bout we go eat first, and if we're all still up for it, we'll go after that." He nodded a bit. Adessi opened the door with her free hand, and then he started to lead them out through the snow. "Do you have any better coats or anything...?" He frowned a little, noting that neither of them seemed to be wearing actual winter coats despite being bundled.
"I suppose that is an okay plan." She nodded a little. "No... Father said he is saving to take us shopping at some point." She shook her head, stepping carefully through the snow. She was not really a fan.

Zahur trudged along with his siblings in the snow. Had he been permitted to go out more often, this might have been a displeasing walk, but just being outside again made the coldness worth it.
"My jacket is too small," Zahur commented through his scarf which he had brought up around his face to keep some of the chill away. "But as Adessi has stated father said a shopping trip is coming soon..."
He silenced himself, thinking for a moment. Father never really took him outside, it was always other people. He began to wonder if his father would let him come shopping, or if he would have to stay at home again. He sighed. He probably would be at home. It seemed it was how things worked for him. But father must have his reasons, right?

River frowned a little, but then shrugged. "Well, "some point" isn't definite enough so I'm gonna take you two to get at LEAST some jackets." He nodded a little. "We'll do that before we go to the recreational center."
"Okay. Maybe father can use the coat money to get us boots instead." She nodded a little and looked to Zahur for approval. "I think boots are just as important as jackets. Cold feet are not very pleasant feet to have."
Awhile later the three of them made it to the foodplace of choice, River got their orders and sent them to sit down at a table while he got the food for them. Adessi looked to Zahur again, then over to River, and then back to Zahur. "So far I think our brother is nice. What do you think, Zahur?"

Zahur smiled a bit and nodded. "I think he is very nice as well Adessi," he said as he squirmed in his seat a bit to make himself more comfortable. He wished to keep his eyes on her, but they couldn't help but wander as he hardly saw anything but the same walls of his own home day in and day out.

"Are you feeling alright Zahur?" She quirked her head, noticing his squirming. Being out was certainly a new experience for him, but since she had been out a few times already her eyes rarely wandered from him or River.
River returned a few minutes later with their orders, then set their meals down in front of them, as well as his at an empty spot, then got rid of the tray before sitting down. "All right, lets eat up. I haven't eaten here before, I hope its good." He grinned, then set about opening up his food to eat.
