[RP Comprises of Ram, Chessa, Peregrine and Koldien!]

She had never felt fear or anxiety before, at least not in a manner where it left her permanently nauseous and left her pacing to the point that she had left lasting imprints in the soil beneath her paws. Suffice to say that they would remain in place until the next heavy rainfall dislodged the soil and replaced it. The cause of her anxiety had been very 'simple' though, a number of her cubs had been kidnapped - snatched during their moment of play and carted off by unknown assailants.

She had only been left with a select few.

Nevertheless, it was in those moments that she had never been so glad as to have been in a pride. She had avoided such gatherings for most of her life, but in her hour of need, in the hour of the entire pride's need, their new leader had demonstrated his strength. He had gathered a small group of lions and he had launched his own assault to recover the lost offspring... Oh she was aware that he could have started a war, but as the other lions had already performed an act of aggression, the mother would not have been adverse to it if it returned her children to her.

"Koldien," she instructed, gazing towards her nearest cub with a quick motion of her paw. She had kept all her remaining children nearby as soon as the chaos had begun. "Stay close, don't go where I can't see you," she instructed softly...

Fortunately, Chessa's prayers were soon to be answered as the leader of the pride had been successful in his assault of the Kizingo'zaa. It hadn't come without a price, but a deal had been struck and all of the cubs had been recovered. It was for this reason that the Pride Leader now found himself in the position to return three of these cubs to their mother. Now in the guardianship of two sons and a daughter, the leader quickly made his way towards Chessa's den to return them.

...It was a journey that was taking longer than anticipated!

"Step to, small ones," he instructed, aware that he was perhaps somewhat taller than they were! "Your mother will want to see you," he pointed out with a wry smile.

"I know, I know!" Peregrine replied, panting softly as he bounded after the large lion. He'd been walking for ages and he was beginning to think he'd never get home, but it wasn't long before he had caught familiar sights, sounds and scents that confirmed he was back in the Bahari'mtoto. "But you're paws are like... the size of me!" he announced dramatically as he bounced from one of Ram's paw steps to the other.

Ram could do nothing more than smile at that observation...

Koldien was usually the first of Chessa's cubs to point out how many reasons why what went wrong actually did, but he didn't really think the moment was appropriate. He was quite scared, actually. And worried... what if they didn't find his siblings? "Yes, of course mother." His words barely came out in a whisper, as he tried to keep up with his mother and keep very close without being underfoot.

He did not complain at the swiftness in which they were walking... after all, he wanted to see his siblings just as much as his mother did. "Will they be okay?" He asked shyly, though this time his words were louder in hopes of being heard better.

As he paced into view, it was Ram who provided Koldien with the answer to his query. Suffice to say that he knew of the children and had watched them grow to the point he recognised their faces, but whenever it came to introducing himself, he had been remiss. However now was as good a time as any to make his presence known, particularly when he came baring gifts for the anxious mother!

"If they were not okay, I would be a failure for a king," Ram replied dutifully, his gaze flicking down to observe the cub near Chessa's legs. He'd grown in recent months and while he still had a ways to go, he would become quite an impressive creature when he was an adult. Suffice to say that Koldien had been one of the lucky ones - he'd avoided the chaos of the cubnappings, though he had then been saddled with a paranoid mother.

"Chessa I come baring -"

"MOOOOOOOTHER!" Peregrine swiftly interrupted the king as he bounded forward. Stumbling now and again over the unsteady ground and tiny pot holes, he made his way towards his bother and promptly tackled her leg, wrapping round it in one of the most bizarre hugs possible. He had been a brave soul during the events of the previous evening, but when it boiled down to it he was still a cub and he had missed his mother.

"Gifts." Ram stated to no one in particular.

Unfortunately for Ram, Chessa was so thoroughly distracted by her son (and the children she had spotted behind the king) that she had given a wail of delight, ignored him and promptly showered her offspring with love. They were all here, all safe and sound with all their limbs intact. He'd done his duty, he'd been adamant he would recover them and he had done so.

"Oh my babies, you're all safe! Don't ever leave my sight again ok?" she demanded as she nuzzled each in turn before sweeping Peregrine away from her paw and providing a hug of his own.

It was a motion that promptly left Peregrine in an unsual 'upside down' pose, from which he could see his brother. He let out an impish smile, an indication that he was fine despite his ordeal and waved a paw.

"You totally cheated at hide and seek," he announced with a sage nod.

When Ram appeared with his siblings his eyes widened, feeling almost instantly shy at the appearance of the king. Peregrine's loud cry of 'mother' seemed to dispel any nervousness Kol was feeling, and instead a slight smile played upon his maw. He backed up a bit, making room for his brother.

He glanced towards Ram, feeling sightly bad he'd been cut off terribly so. Were you even allowed to do that to the king? But he didn't seem to mind. Koldien nuzzled a few of his siblings, but said nothing. He wasn't sure what to say, as part of him felt guilty they'd just gone through such troubles and he... well he'd not.

His gaze widened as he brother claimed Koldien had been cheating at hide and seek, and he was very confused. "You know I don't like playing..." He said slowly, very softly and almost defensively. Even when his siblings got Koldien to agree to most games it was only that; a yes. It didn't mean he'd play, agreement or not. And though his brother's smile was impish and it was clear he was teasing, Kol couldn't help but feel bad; obvious by the slight frown and wrinkled brow.

Koldien was much too serious for his own good.

"Awwww c'mon Kol, it wasn't so bad," Peregrine rolled out of his mother's embrace and then promptly tumbled over to his brother. He sat down, hind-legs splayed in an unusual fashion and one paw used to balance. He used the other front paw to nudge his brother and lifted a brow. Suffice to say that Peregrine was in good spirits - sure he was glad to be back but at the same time he hadn't been hurt either. Now that the cub had time to reflect on it, it had been an adventure.

"They weren't super mean like in the stories," he continued and set his paw down, ears perking considerably as he recalled the Kizingo'zaa. Sure they had looked weird, spoken funny and lived in an unusual place... But they hadn't seemed all that bad. "I think they were just confused," he added and pursed his lips.

"You totally missed out on an adventure," he murmured.

"And I'm very glad of that," Chessa remarked sternly, overhearing Peregrine and providing him with an affectionate, but highly disapproving look. Really her son should have known better, she was most definitely on Kol's side this time! If she'd had her way, the children wouldn't have been exposed to that... Although she didn't want to be a kill joy either.

"Did you manage to find them all or...?" Chessa dreaded to ask, but it had to be done.

Fortunately, Ram came bearing good news and his smile was evident of this. He certainly seemed tired but he was in good spirits. "The children are all present and accounted for, we're in the process of returning them to their families," he replied and turned to Kol, winking just once.

"Although the cubs that managed to hide from our neighbours have much to teach their siblings," he observed and shook his head. "It would seem a select few cubs had a knack for evading capture."
