It was the first time Mimi actually contacted someone for help, but she felt she needed to step up. Instead of people constantly telling her when she should meet up an do something, Mimi needed to take initiative and ask others for help. The feeling was odd, since she never really relied on anyone, but once it was done, she was pleased with herself.

Mimi was now standing on a rooftop where a mirror was hidden. She had contacted Remarque earlier that night. Since he had spent time protecting her before, she knew that he was a good person to run to if she needed to learn more about fighting. Sure, Painite was some help, but that was only some. Mimi craved more! She already felt stronger than before, having gone to the gym at least twice every week to work out her arms. Her legs... Well, running around the city were doing them good already.

She sat on the fence of the rooftop as she waited for Remarque. Mimi had told him over the mirror compacts that she needed his help, but hadn't really specified why. "Oops.. I hope I didn't make him panic..."

'Panic' was not something Remarque did. When he had received her message and request for help, naturally he had assumed the worst. Unfamiliar with the mirror on the roof, Remarque did not come by that method. He had come through a mirror hidden snuggly in some heavy foliage below—and then used a fire escape to climb his way all the way to talk.

Seeing Mimistrobell sitting atop the roof, without any tears or blood, however, dismissed most of his concern. He pulled himself up the last little bit, and brushed himself off in the same motion. When he moved to approach the girl he asked, as politely as anyone ever could when phrasing, "Did you need me for something?"

Even though he neared her, he was very careful to avoid the edge of the building. Remarque was a fan of the ground, and it didn't matter how often he dreamed of corporations and skyscrapers, he was not a fan of heights.

When she finally heard and saw Remarque, Mimi waved with a big smile on her face. "Heya Remarque! Long time no see!" It was true. The last time she saw him was probably during that training session. She hadn't worked with him so after Painite was done with her lesson plan, Mimi didn't have a chance to say goodbye.

"Well... You know at that really big battle and all? I felt really bad that day where you had tried to protect me because I didn't know how to fight. Then after that training session with Painite I was determined to get stronger, yah know?" She could still feel the hit and falls she took that night, but in the end, she kept telling herself that it would all be worth while in the end.

Mimi got off of the railing and stood face to face with Remarque. "May I have a training session with you now? I was glad I wasn't paired up with you before since that night helped me make an acquaintance that I could contact for help too. I don't mind being beat up. It's better to learn that way!"

Remarque couldn't help but raise a brow. "…Mimistrobell, I'm not going to beat you up," he said after a short moment. "There is absolutely no benefit or learning to take from me kicking your a**—unless you want a lesson in pain." Which could certainly be arranged if she really wanted it, however he'd rather her save her vitality for when she actually needed it. "But, if you want a lesson," for this, he cracked a grin. "I'd be more than happy to oblige."

Any senshi who wanted so badly to learn how to defend themselves—even if it meant getting hurt in the process—was one he wasn't going to turn down. Especially since he'd developed a sort of soft spot for the girl—for the Court. He had not yet forgotten the ambush, or how rough it had wound up being on him. He'd made his stand, though—and she'd been safe. The whole Court was safe, and that was all that mattered.

"How were lessons with Painite?" he prompted. "Did she teach you anything useful?"

"Okay fine... Maybe not kicking my butt, but I can take hits and fall on my bottom if anything," Mimi told him with a grin. She wanted her body to get used to getting beat up, more so because she was hoping that her body would get used to it and it wouldn't hurt so much. "I don't know why, but it feels good to be in a bit of pain. Though, I don't this kind of pain would be the same after lifting weights at the gym..."

Mimi thought back to the night she trained with Painite. "Good, for the most part. She taught me to look for peoples' weakness and to follow up with a good attack after finding a fault, not... Be so giddy like I was the time with her." She laughed, remember how sore her bottom was that night, but she was still thankful and kind of enjoyed it.

"I'm really happy you're willing to teach me too though! It feels nice to get more training from another DMC, even though we're on the same side with the Officers."

Mimistrobell was not the sort of person Remaerque would have taken for a masochist, so he gave her another look and then simply shook his head. He couldn't ever imagine pain feeling good, but—hey. If she didn't mind, kudos for her. She was certainly the lucky one. "Painite sounds like she got in some good lessons. So," he placed his hands on his hips and gave her a look over. "What do you want me to teach you? How to throw a good punch? How to defend yourself, dodge a blow? Fancy footwork or something?"

Of course, he had his preferences, and as much as Remarque liked everything to be about him, if Mimistrobell wanted a lesson in something, he wanted to know where she thought her weaknesses were so they could focus on them. He didn't want their next meeting to be about how some knight or white moon senshi completely pulverized her, so anything she wanted, he was more than willing to provide until he knew she could handle herself in this war.

"Hm..." Mimi looked up to the sky and thought. For the most part, she could do things just to do it, but they really had no power. Footwork? She didn't really know that either. Well, whatever happened happened and i she got better from making mistakes, that's how she'd do it. "What about a good punch and how to defend/dodge a blow?"

Mimi didn't think that footwork was that important-- at least not now. Maybe she'd ask Remarque to teach her about that another time, but not at the moment. "Footwork would probably help too, but... I think being able to fight and/or defend myself is more important as of now..."

She thought again to that night where the page was holding her and grabbing at her. Personally, Mimi didn't like the physical grabbing. "I think I'd like to learn how to get... People off me too. There was once where this page kind of grabbed my hair and then legs and then ended up scratching my face..."

His nose nearly wrinkled at the thought; hair grabbing and face scratching weren't exactly his idea of respectable fighting. Boxing, though—that was definitely more like it. "Yeah, I can teach you a think or two about a good punch and a decent defense." Not that defense was his forte or anything, but he figured if she was a complete novice, she might not pick up on that so quickly. "Move away from the edge of the building, it won't do much good to practice anything if you just go plummeting over the edge or something."

He'd already taken the initiative to avoid the edge of the roof, though took a few extra steps back to make plenty of room for Mimistrobell to join him at the center.

"The page, who was it?" he asked, more out of curiosity than a desire to seek revenge; Mimistrobell had made it out alive and without too much obvious damage, so hunting down this page wasn't exactly top of his priorities.

Mimi did what she was told and walked closer towards the center of the rooftop, closer to where Remarque was. "That would definitely not be a fun experience."

She didn't really know what to tell Remarque about it all. Though they were of the same side and Mimi should be able to trust him with everything right? Mimi took a deep breath before talking. "I was some page of Chronos? I... Didn't bother remembering her name, but... I do know of something else that night..."

Mimi wasn't completely sure that she wanted to say the next bit, but... Maybe Remarque could tell her what to do. "After she started... Clinging on to me, eventually I ended up on top of her. I... Was choking her when she scratching me on the face. I think... I almost killed her." The last part was said almost in a whisper and Mimi wanted to brush it off; at least she said it!

"Okay then! What first?" She asked as she stretched her arms and legs a little bit. Mimi felt like she abused the mirrorwalking; it was done so often that she spent less time running around and getting some exercise. "That's one thing I should change..."

"Chronos page, hmm? I've only met three females of them—Bifrost, Hara and Pharos," none of which had seemed particularly violent. Past the initial run-in with Bifrost, of course, but he hadn't seen her in a long time. "Take my stance," he said; he'd already stretched from his activities earlier in the evening, so all he had to do was plant himself firmly on the roof and wait for Mimistrobell to do the same. "Just to keep you a little more grounded. If you're throwing a punch, it might take some time to get used to how much power you're putting into it. Don't want you falling down or anything because you got a little overzealous, so this'll help."

He stopped giving instructions, giving her time to modify her position. While he waited for her to mimic him, he drifted back to her previous statement. "…Did it scare you? …With the page," he said, figuring he didn't need to repeat the part that most interested him. Almost killing someone had to be enough to shake just about anyone up; he had never been so close, himself, but with the way this war was going, he figured it was only a matter of time.

Mimi clearly winced when she heard the name. "Yeah... It was that 'Hara' girl." She frowned. Mimi didn't like the memory and didn't like that girl; she had brought out some deeper, darker form of herself because of her 'fighting style' and well, Mimi wasn't ready to forgive and forget that night.

She tried to clear her mind of the negative thoughts from that night and studied Remarque's stance. When she moved into a position that would somewhat mimic Remarque's, Mimi thought she doing pretty well, minus probably her legs still being too close together or something. "Okay... I think my stance is somewhat like yours?"

Mimi wasn't sure of how to answer him. She was scared at the fact that she almost killed someone. More so, she was scared that part of her enjoyed it. There was a possibility she'd even want to kill the page if they ever met again, or even someone that managed to push her buttons wrong.

She looked ashamed when she answered. "Yes, I was afraid... But it wasn't just the part that I almost killed her, but more so... I think part of me enjoyed it... I... I've been trying to not let it bother me too much, but the feeling's been there... The thoughts have been there."

The Hara girl had been fairly tame for Remarque, though he figured that might have been due to his power level compared to hers. "Your stance is good," Remarque replied, considering how to respond to the rest of her words. He had certainly gotten so caught up in a fight that the well being of his opponent had been entirely disregarded—both in the ring and out. Had he ever outright wanted to kill someone…?

Only once.

Only once, and that had been a long, long time ago. Well before he'd ever known of senshi or war. Now, it seemed like the power had tamed him. There was less of a struggle to be at the top of the food chain—he was practically there. There were very few that had the ability to beat him, and he'd yet to run into a situation where they ever had.

Death…murder. Perhaps it was the anger management classes, or whatever teachings his mother had drilled into his head when he was at his worst; he had yet to want to kill someone. He enjoyed the fight, but the satisfaction of killing someone? He'd been deprived of it.

"Let me teach you the basic punches—there are four. You don't have to master all of them, but it helps to know which work, in case you're ever in a pinch and can't use your favorite. I'll start off simple, just your basic jab." He curled his right hand into a fist and drew it near his chest, saying, "The hand you don't punch with, you can use to block with, in case your opponent is getting sneaky. Keep it where you're vulnerable, wherever you think they're going to hit. Chest, neck, face. To actually throw a punch, take your dominant arm," his left, "And…"

His words tapered off, and he moved into the physical display. He drew both arms up, in typical boxing fashion; he kept his right in the same position he had originally demonstrated, though thrust his left arm straight ahead to display a jab. His typical punches were much quicker, though he kept his speed much slower so she could watch and mimic. "You can go ahead and give it a go," he said, repeating the gesture a few times so she could watch.

His conversation didn't end there, however; if she had questions, he knew she'd ask. In doing the display, he'd had plenty of time to consider her previous words, and was only now ready to continue the conversation and address them. "Sometimes, we will have to do things that go against our morals. There will be times where we must assume the role of a necessary evil. You cannot hold it against yourself that you are deeply passionate for the Court. Realistically, if you are in the position of kill or be killed," he looked Mimistrobell in the eyes so she would understand the importance of his statement, "Kill. Your life is of far more value than that of anyone who attacks you. I encourage you to try and win over the senshi, but knights? …We may tolerate them or we may destroy them. You will be not be punished for doing either, as long as you are doing what is best for you."

Anyone could tell that Mimi was easily pleased with herself; when Remarque had told her that her stance was good, she grinned. It could possibly be that she was pushed so hard earlier in life, not getting much compliments from her parents. Whenever she did get them it made her giddy like a small child doing something right for the first time.

Even though Remarque told Mimi she didn't have to master all four, Mimi knew inside of herself that she would push herself until she would. "Mmkay... Basics for now!"

Mimi watched closely at how Remarque moved, each time analyzing a different area. First would be the general movement of his arms and hand, then the upper body, then the lower... She was a definite 'learn by doing' person, but this time was probably best to learn by mimicking first. Mimi did as she saw, curling her own right hand and using her left hand to block. "My dominant is usually the one I write with, right?"

She watched as Remarque was doing his punches and she tried to mimic them, slowly memorizing which places felt right when she punched the air. Mimi was glad though, realizing that her working her arms at the gym had strengthen her arms a bit; she knew that if she had done this with Painite, her arms would have most likely ached already, even for the left arm since she had to hold it in position. "I think I'm doing this right?"

Mimi listened and thought as Remarque told her of his views. Well, it was true in a war: kill or be killed. Since she was a basic Senshi, Mimi was glad no one had actually tried to kill her yet. She rationalized that, if she really needed to protect herself, Mimi probably would kill, but would she really be able to do it? Would she be able to live with something like that?

"Even if I did do that... Just to defend myself -- or someone else -- I don't know how I could live with it. But even then... What if I kill once and want to kill more? Who knows how blood-thirsty I am deep inside of me..."

"You're doing a good job," Remarque complimented, completely comfortable with a little a little positive reinforcement. He stopped throwing his punches so that he could observe her and make sure she was getting it right, though it seemed she was a fast learner. "Looking good."

Mimistrobell had a good point—about killing someone and liking it. It probably would have been wiser to ask Requiem or Leto—people who had killed, and who had gotten over it. Leto had been so torn up after she'd murdered a page that she'd stayed in Mirrorspace for near to three months, so apparently even the most hardened of warriors could suffer after such a feat.

"You don't seem like the type," he said simply enough. "Who would develop into some blood thirsty monster?"

She was just some girl who liked to put up graffiti, right? Not even rebel enough to spray paint. He couldn’t imagine her killing—and if she did, he'd have been surprised.

"But if you're really so worried about what killing someone might do to you, my advice is just not to do it. It is possible," he reassured. "I've been doing this for over a year, and I still haven't killed anyone. If you put your mind to it, you'll be able to. If things get tough, you can always hightail it out of there. Or call for me, I'll come in and make sure you're taken care of. I keep my compact on me at all times, just in case there's an emergency."

With a little of the encouragement from Remarque, Mimi started to punch the air a little faster and a little harder. It felt like there was too much she had to learn, even when it came to knowing about herself. The feeling was exciting but a little bit scary at the same time. Will she look back to this day a year from now and change significantly?

"I'm not sure if the blood-thirsty part scares me, really... I mean, I don't have the desire to kill after that time I almost did it, but more so..." She stopped talking for a bit while she continued to punch the air. Her 'strikes' this time were a little bit more wobbly, mind elsewhere than training. "I don't think I'd hunt someone down, but more so that I might not mind taking a life?"

Mimi knew that Remarque was right though. If she didn't do it, she'd never have to know. "But what if..."

All the 'what-ifs' started to scream in her head. She stopped punching the air completely and shook her head hard. This wasn't something she needed to concentrate; she needed to get stronger and be able to protect herself. Mimi liked having someone to depend on, and she would if she needed. "Thanks, Remarque... I think I'll try my best to not kill anyone. And I promise to call if I need anything!"

She smiled at him and the continued punching the air again. It was still a little wobbly from the thoughts in her head, but slowly, Mimi started to concentrate at the things in front of her and not the questions of the future. "I have to train -now- not worry about the tomorrow and die if I can't fight!"
