Bix realized as the days (weeks?) wore on that he hadn't been called for the important meeting he kept hearing about. He hadn't been assigned regular duties that he didn't just choose to show up to and every text alert to his new phone was something lamely generic. He wasn't sure the powers that be even knew he was alive. He'd gotten so used to his routine that having nothing to do was driving him mad. He'd been training, he'd unpacked again, he'd started to learn to cook, he'd desecrated his own grave and he'd even gotten sucked into a portal which ended with him being JOY delirious for a day (but his room was now Christmas decorated like a mofo). The albino hunterhad heard of the specializations for fully ranked hunters and now he was at Allan's door, his division lead, hoping that his trip would A) have him be acknowledged as a living, breathing human and B) perhaps aid in his quest for specialization. Knock. Knock. Knock.

The door was pulled wide open as a beaming Sun lead stared out into the hallway before honing in and focusing on Bix. The smile got even wider as the Sun Hunter was given a very strong bear hug. "Bix-kun!" There were possibly some tearful sobs, some muttering about the kokoro and bankai and pocky and maybe nakama, and some more squeezing and grabbing by both shoulders to shake vigorously. "You look well! I'm glad to see you're back from vacation so soon!"
Allan had in all honesty started to get worried. Bix had taken a rather long vacation to some place Caelius had said was called Six Feet Down Under, which Mark had been extremely unhelpful in explaining the location of. Well, it sounded dark and possibly very rainy and maybe full of killer kangaroos that could only be defeated with by a manly punch to their face, so it was nice to see the Sun Hunter back so soon. Maybe they even managed to conquer their inner weaknesses and discover the true meaning of will during their journey!

"Vacation? Allan I was.." In his head, Mina made a noise. She was right to interrupt him though. It was probably better this way anyway. Instead of correcting his division lead he simply gave him a very manly hug back. "Nevermind." Bix smiled. "I was wondering if I could talk to you about specialization. I heard about it when I uh.. got back." He hoped his imaginary vacation had been a fun one. razz "Maybe something to do with ranged weapons?"

"Special...ization," Allan repeated. One could almost see the cogs in his head churning really fast and probably emitting steam. Jerry-kun had recently mentioned the same word, but then he was on a quest to discover his inner spirit in the French Horn through Deus Ex's first ever marching band - ohhhh now it all made sense.
"Ranged weapons, like a ranged weapon instrument?" Allan was trying to envision some sort of gun-shaped trumpet here. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Is this specialization the same as Jerry-kun's marching band?"

Bix really wondered what qualified you to be a division leader. Was it power alone? Or were these the only people who survived that long? Perhaps he should have approached Simon instead. The assistant seemed to be more in touch with reality, if not a bit trigger happy. "Um not quite. More like.. when I fight I use a bow? And arrows? So I thought I could sort of focus on that and helping others who also used ranged weaponry?" Bix scratched his head. "You know with strategy and stuff?"

"Ah yes! Fighting! Well why didn't you say so in the first place!" Allan's eyes sparkled as he stood a little straighter. "I am proud of you Bix-kun to feel the kinmanship with others, with fellow fighters. But before you train others in the art of strategy and battle, you must be focused, prepared yourself. Tell me Bix-kun, is the courage in your kokoro strong and your resolve unbroken? Are you ready to take the challenge to prove your worth?"
This was probably going to be another bankai training thing.

Bix and Mina almost simultaneously had to translate the Allan-speak so that both hunter and weapon could understand. After a blank stare Bix finally grinned. "Oh yeah my kokoro is uh.. totally resolved." His last challenge hadn't exactly been easy, especially fighting Mina face to face. Bix wasn't intimidated in the least by whatever this challenge could be. Not after dying. "I'm ready." He punched his fist into his other palm, determined.

"That's the spirit! You'll obtain bankai in no time Bix-kun!" The Sun Hunter got a hearty, if not hefty, pat to the back, a light shove-
-And the next thing Bix knew they were on the training fields. Oh yes, portal closet, right. Oh the things one could do with their very own teleportation closet!
Allan was already warming up, weapon summoned in both hands, taking on the usual odd oversized butcher-knife shape. He smiled enthusiastically. "All right Bix-kun, we fight for real this time, like nakama and men, to test your strategy in a real battle!"
That was about as much warning as Bix got before Allan charged, barely waiting for the other to even summon their weapon, blade tilted aggressively towards them. It was an open challenge to see how Bix would handle a ranged weapon in extremely close combat and in very sudden situations. The blade swung agains the Sun Hunter's Fear shield more as an intimidation factor than anything else. ((ooc: Damage 17-4 = 13 HP: ???/??? ))

"Whoa-HO!" Bix summoned Mina just a second too slow and her bladed ends were not quick enough to shield against Allan's sword. Bix swung the knife like edge back at Allan instead of fleeing. After their last meeting, Mina had changed to accommodate close quarters combat a bit easier. He'd been working on it, using the bow like a staff when the situation called for it. The archer's blade swiped at Allan twice before he finally hopped backwards and darted sideways in an attempt to get some distance. His hand hovered on his bowstring in readiness for a shot. HP: 47/60 Damage: 9

There was a neat clang as Mina swept against Noah, Allan grinning widely ear to ear, simply revelling in what he did best as a Hunter. "Not bad, but take my Getsuga Buster earth smash!"
Before Bix could ask what exactly a getsuga buster earth smash was, Allan had literally planted his sword half-into the dirt, the grass and ground literally convulsing, burgeoning around the seams before exploding into hundreds of beams of bright white light. It was more a flashy move than anything else, though it also forced Bix far, far away from the attack, if he didn't want to get hit by repeat bursts of the same attack.

Bix leapt backwards as quickly as he could. The shockwaves of the attack continued and the archer was just not fast enough. As the blast hit him, Bix opened fire.  It was very dramatic. He thankfully was nimble enough to land, stumbling and skidding, mostly on his feet. HP: 35/60 Damage: 14 Charge: 2/3
