Lan had to admit, there was one thing nice about snow? It got people to draw closer together. Hair done up as to not even chance it touching any snow on the ground, Lan was glad she had the services of Ying and her brother. Her new outfit was most excellent, fur trim wonderfully sewn in and providing the right amount of comfort while aiding in warmth. Not to mention her little shoes were perfectly matched and her sash was embroidered just right. Indeed, they were masters of their craft.

“It’s a good day to be gathering fear.” Her little babies would go and infect and with any luck, she’d do her clan proud. Bring honor back for herself. Maybe a lot, maybe a little, but Lan was determined to at least TRY. A low hum, she let her FEAR meld to what had been provided, the tiny balls of light glowing a light gold. It would suit. She looked at the virus with an almost loving manner. She would do well she told herself. She would do well.

Ying's little body was not built for the cold. She had made sure that they were all outfitted for the cold in stylish furry Death bundles, but it still didn't stop her teeth from chattering, and her little arms shivered in the freezing temperatures.

She was busying herself fidgeting with the strings on Jing's hood, making sure he was toasty warm. Her brother wouldn't freeze to death on HER watch!

"Sit still!" Ying scolded. "If you don't tie it right, your horns will freeze and snap off- is that what you want?" It was a motherly sort of scolding, but at the same time it was coming from the older sister, not the mother.

Her own virus was held with much less care than Lan's. Ying's was a little orb of soft, but sickening seafoam, which she waved around like it was nothing. Far less dignified than Lan-senpai. Her nose was bright red as she fiddled with Jing's jacket further. "Sit still!!"

Jing relished the chance to enjoy the cold. There was something special about the nippy air that just made him feel. His rosy cheeks were thrilled when he saw the snowy hills and the quiet that came with it. It was beautiful.

All of that flitted away while Ying forced him to sit there and put up with her mothering. His cheeks were still flushed as he tried to casually brush her hands aside. "Come now sister thats enough." he scolded with a tut and rose on his feet and with it, out of her reach. The scarf was then tucked into place the way he wanted it much to his sisters objection.

"Yes Lan, what a excellent choice to collect fear." he cooed, agreeing with the boil on the occasion. The Humans in their little hovels, hiding from the bitter chill of the frost and soon enough, quivering from fright at their instruments of doom. The boil marched on through the expanse of the trail, lightly frosted in white with care. The palm sized jar was nestled in the wide armholes of his jacket, the material thick and heavy, but warm . The dull glow of jade in its hiding place went well with the cream tones of the material.

This time, they didn't have to sit idly by and repair clothes, it was time to join the action and see the tranquility that came with the frantic screams of Man.

"Ying if his horns freeze off in this cold of weather then it is only a sign that he is not worthy of them. So long as his fear is strong then you have no need to worry." A light smile, Lan them both a nod, "And this day, I feel no weakness in our fear. Come, let us go out, test our little ones. I am sure we can all use a bit of a... Warm up if you will?" It would do them well to get a taste of things to come. "But let us have a bit of fun. Once done, we will begin the infection... Proper."

Her target would have to be perfect. No one infirm, no one too old or too young. She would need to pick the perfect target. Gold eyes scanned the crowed that was gathering, feeding some wild birds. Birds that looked a bit like rats to her but birds all the same. Perfect carriers… if they were more friendly to humans. But her little babies were not for birds. No, she would infect direct. Singing sprouted up nearby, and Lan could make out only bits of it. Russian was not a language she had been fond of. But still she new enough to know pick out that they sang for their God.

A little light, all her own, she walked by the man who sang the most robust, leading the group. He was drinking from his water bottle and- It was so easy. Just a little bit, her virus in his water, the man drank greedily, swallowing her virus without even a thought. She watched him, followed him as he went about, talking to so many. Sharing his drink even- how delightful his overwhelming generosity. Those loved would be missed, and those that lived would fear for their own mortality.

The rash came, and his throat looked like that of a exotic bird, so vibrant and red. Boils, his little group fawned over him, unafraid, touching him gingerly, helping him back as soon he was nearly unable to move without crying out in pain. Pain, and fear. Fear at what was happening to him, once so healthy and now suffering in such agony. They bade him lay down and rest, but it just got worse. Screaming as he lashed out, calling for a doctor. A doctor who could do nothing. Lan would not let her chosen be taken from her.

He was dying, from what they didn’t know. His friends came, wanting to help, fretting delightfully over him. They called his family as others called the hospital.

Yet by the time he arrived to the hospital he was recovering. Getting better. Sent home-

His last moments in front of his loved ones. Absolute terror as they watched him die. His body shutting down on him. This was what Lan lived for. This absolute control over their lives. This is where a horseman belonged. In control. In power. With humans at their whims. This fear- she’d relish it.

Ying's fidgeting hands fell as Jing brushed them off and Lan told her otherwise. So maybe she babied her brother- was that such a problem! She'd already lost everyone else, it was the least she could do to keep the one she had left safe.

Regardless, Lan departed from them, off to perform her Conquestian duties. They too had a job. Ying gathered up her brother and found the perfect hosts, a couple that was bathing in an outdoor spring, tucked away in the snow. It was a couple's resort of sorts, but far more outdoorsy.

"Love is always so ... difficult, wouldn't you agree brother? Many obstacles, you know" she said, light smirk on her face. "Help me?" she asked her brother. It would be easier to kill the two if they combined their powers. As the couple consumed their attention with each other, Ying slipped her virus into the water, watching it spread and multiply in the perfect warm, damp conditions. She only waited for Jing to do the same.

The couple went home with rashes, which turned into boils. The woman worried it was something serious, but the husband thought it was a simple country rash. Of course, things took a turn for the worse as they always did. Soon the couple was bedridden, hospitalized. People began whispering that it was a lover's curse, that the twosome had ignored some silly tradition, and this was the price they paid. The process was vapid, but the FEAR was tangible, and Ying relished it. "What a pitiful fate," Ying said as the virus claimed the couples' life. "I believe our job is done?" she said, looking at the people whisper around the couple, FEAR generating even after the couple was dead.

Someone needed to tell Ying to cut the pumpkinbilical cord.

Jing however was aware that they were here for work, not on holiday. The couple in the hot tub did seem like the best victims for the disease, it was a good choice on Ying's part. "Love can be a wondrous thing sister" he cooed, "But it can also be your untimely demise." The jar was taken out of his sleeve, the container eased into the bubbling water and its contents flowed out.

It spread out with each ripple and wave, mingling with its sibling virus and into the poor humans and their love life. It was funny how much one little action like skinny dipping can cause such problems. Welts raised within moments from exiting the water, the lovers itching and burning and asking each other if they had been tested. the horseboil smiled once infidelity began to be questioned between them, love had gone sour quickly. Hives and welts turned into boils, festering and oozing with pus and filth and the fever that came with the inflammation response seemed horrible from his viewpoint.

The lovers soon came distant from each other with their symptoms and the plague only got worse. Rumors flew of whom was cheating on whim. That one of them got into something nasty and vile with a person of the night. Others believed someone was jealous of their adoration of one another and wished harm upon them. and some feared the idea of a pathogen that struck those active and in the throws of their lust.

The fear blossomed quickly between the gossipers and family friends, almost as quickly as the symptoms passed until the couple was no more. The fear and uncertainty remained and Jing relished in it, collected it without remorse. "They are gone, but their terrible tale lives on, and with it, feeding our cause." he whispered softly and dragged the smaller ghoul away from the crowd.

The fear in the air, the chill of the wind- it was crisp, refreshing in it’s own manner. Then again, it might have helped that after killing Lan was in brighter spirits. A nice intimate killing to witness your handy work on was always fun. “Ying, Jing, I believe it is time to get down to business.” To defeat the humans. Holding up the vial she gave a tiny bit more of her fear to the glowing orbs. “Now, lets see here..."

Humans playing cards, she tried to foster the virus onto them to no avail. Not enough sweat on their brows. At best she glared. Giving them a bit of a chill, after all the stare was a bit intense.

Lan was good at hateful stares.

The twins reconvened with Lan, who said that it was time to really get down to work. Killing the couple in agony had been fun, but Lan was right. They were aiming for widespread FEAR, not potent coincidences.

She poured her own FEAR into the seafoam orbs and then sprinkled its particles to the wind, letting it be carried off to a rather important looking building. She always thought it was amusing how the humans would build themselves to the sky, only to come crumbling down at the smallest things.

No satisfying screams emerged though, no coughing or vomiting. She frowned, looking at Lan and Jing. "Did I do something wrong?" Ying was thinking it was her FEAR, not the humans being gone. She sighed and moved a bit closer to her twin. "It is your turn, brother."

It didn't seem right, the lack of human screams put Jing in a sad mood. "The wind is a tricky thing sister." he said casually when the jar was opened and the virus took the form of petal, drifting in the unseen gusts. "They are a willful thing, going where they please, taking whatever they can along for the ride." he continued, as the petal went to land on a group of two leggers, siting in a circle and chatting away merrily in the nippy air.

The petals fell in waves and was brushed aside after a few mutterings in their foreign tongue, like litter into the snow. "Its kinda like you dear sister." he remarked and clucked his tongue at his poor attempt. "Looks like we won't hear their pitiful cries just yet."

It was a shame.

Deryk drew in a deep breath as he found himself in Russia, answering an emergency mission. Keeping Tooley at hand, he nervously looked around to try and see where the trouble was. Not too far off, he spotted the culprits. Three horsemen.

Yikes. This might be a little heavy for him to handle on his own. Hopefully, others will have received the text too. But.. he needed to get going here. The death hunter bit his lower lip, then started to make his way towards the closest one.

Once he came up towards one of the female hunters, he jumped and tried to do an aerial assassination of sorts.

It didn't quite go according to plan.

These emergency missions weren't giving him any rest, not that he was complaining. He'd much rather be kept busy doing stuff, because really, training could only keep him occupied for so long. What he lacked was experience.

Stepping through the portal, he was greeted with snow. LOTS of snow.
Ugh, he didn't do well with the cold. Still, a mission was a mission. He was going to have to suck it up.

It seemed another hunter had beat him here, but he paid him no mind. His attention was on the three coated figures. More horsemen? It seemed they were getting smart and forming groups now. No matter, he'd still take them down.

Weapons summoned, his gaze fell on the one with blonde hair, who seemed to be the leader of the group.

Lan giggled behind her hand at the twins. Really, she did so envy them and their bond. Envy, and remain amused at their antics. They were spirited and skilled. Two things she liked. “Do not be discouraged. Each time we do not succeed, it only shows us where we might improve. But never worry, after all, when have we of conquest ever failed?” Lan’s answer: Never. She’d never admit such a thing. Those of her clan were flawless. Misguided perhaps, prone to accidents and lapses in judgment, but never failures or mistakes. They were perfect, each one of them.

Lan didn’t however, quite notice the hunters until they attacked. How lovely. “Ah, and so the pests begin to arrive.” She smiled a bit Before completely ignoring them, returning to her infections. “Tell me, do you both intend to make something new for the upcoming spring?”

Hunters. Hunters in their clearing. She calmed herself, finding her center. "Zen" as Jing would have called it. They had a task to complete- her revenge would wait.

It didn't mean she couldn't propel that rage into her task. A group of humans passed by, far too happy for Ying's tastes. "Jing," she called, beckoning him to her side. He would back her up, she knew he would.

With a malicious glint at the hunters, she blew her virus towards the group, causing everyone who was singing to collapse in a coughing fit, eventually to succumb to the virus. Success. The tide was building.

As expected, Ying got herself in trouble in the human realm. Typical. Jing wanted to let out a sigh when the hunters that passed by got cocky and went in for the attack. The stare the horseboil gave the duo when they went after his comrades, the ghouls of the group. It was appalling.

"Proper boil's should not go after ghouls." was the only warning he gave, the longbow drawn, the string pulled and arrow notched.

The arrow was set free. toward the human filth that tried to harm his sister..

One other hunter had shown up, which was a good sign. Well. Sort of. the two of them vs the three of them might be a little rough. A little extra help would still be nice to say in the least. Right now it didn't even really seem like the horsemen were really all that concerned with them. Only one moved to retaliate.

"Y-yeah? W-well... Proper.. people don't go doing.. whateveryou'redoing!"

Weak come back.

But, after the arrow grazed against him, he managed to move in on the male of the group, and shifted in to try and stab the hidden blade into him.
