Between chores, A'in's pranks, and lessons, F'iar wasn't sure he would have any time to himself. Not that he wasn't use to that, after being on a boat for seasons at a time before being Searched, it would just be nice to relax some with Solath and the flits. The day was cool, but he headed towards the right lake, away from the others . He had a lot to think about, with the attacks that just happened, the hatching that could happen any moment, and well just life!
Picking a rock that was somewhat flat and in the sun, F'iar sat down. He was absorbed in watching Solath playing in the water, loving the way his blue hide glistened darkly against the cold waters.

There was something in the water. Wen swam up, surfacing in the sandy underbanks and tipped his head taking in the weyrling and his blue dragon. So, he hadn't been the only one with free time or interested in a swim. He treaded water for a few moments before kicking out into the clear water, heading towards the bank and his clothes.

Solath was enjoying the water, even when he spotted another human also in the water. His seemed to be enjoying the time alone, but figured he could warn him. Mine, another is here too. F'iar looked up from his knot and glanced at the lake. Sure enough he spotted the other male.
The young rider thought about leaving, but the sun was warm and he needed the time there. Glancing again, F'iar came to realize it was one of the new candidates. "Hello!"

Wen bobbed in the water and nodded in greeting . "Hello." He walked the rest of the way onto the shore, wringing lake water from his hair. He picked up his clothing bundle, his shirt, pants, boots, and cap tucked into a water proof half cape; paused, and walked over to F'iar. "Do you mind any company?" He questioned.
F'iar seemed to be about his own age, and was a rider. He might have useful, possibly even interesting information.

Since the rock was large enough, F'iar moved over a little. "Not that much. Ready for all the extra work, when you get a dragon?" Though it wasn't for sure a candidate would Impress, there was always that chance. From some of his education, he had seen some werylings that weren't fully ready.

He sat down and leaned back, combing his hair over his shoulders to dry faster. "Probably, it can't be any worse than guard training." He tugged on his under things band to get it away from his scars. It itched. Most of it seemed similar to guard training so far, at least physically. "Were you ready?"

"Well not as ready as I could of been, but the training it shows the general stuff. When you get woken up because your dragon is hungry, well it takes a toll on you."

"What did you use to do?" Wen questioned, watching the blue splash around in the water. "Does he swim decently?" It was strange seeing a creature that large in the water. Not overly graceful but at least the blue was enjoying himself.

"I was a Fisherman when I got Searched. Greatest joy in my life was when Solath came to me." His eyes got distant as the memory came, as if it had only been the other day. "He floats well, mainly asking the flits that we share a weyr with to help get him fish. Also he tries to play with some dolphins."

"Fourth generation guard, I think I been underfoot in the barracks since I was eight. I started when I was twelve and well, I ended up chosen as a candidate just recently. I was running a message." Wen sighed, somewhat wistful. He missed traveling and the guard and having someone to practice with. "You have flits? I just recently hatched a pair."

Laughing to the point of holding his sides, F'iar tries to take a deep breath. "Well I just followed my hands at the time." Holding up the rope that seems to always be with him. "As to flits, I have two." He points at the blue dragon that has two spots of green along his back.

Wen eyed the rope, slight befuddled at the laughter before tossing it aside as irrelevant. "Greens... are they always so," he paused, trying to chose something more fix then a bubble headed silly, "personal? My hatchling tries to greet everything."

F'iar had to think of that. "Well to be honest, I think they are all different. Festive there, the darker one, well she likes to get into everything. I had to get S'kiro's gold to train her because the green decided she like red string. That caused." He smiled at it, remembering the women running after the poor green.
"Now the other, Spring, is much calmer. Both of them love to help bath the dragons. That is one good thing about them."

Wen hummed slightly. "You can get a gold to train them?" He might see about talking to some gold flit owners to quiet down Noche's impulsive greeting and cuddling. She was friendly to the point of overbearing. "My blue flit is lazy. He was lounging upside down when I left."

"I have seen that. As to your question, a gold flit is just like a gold dragon. So when she gets pissy things start to change with the greens." He looked to where Solath slept now, on the sand, getting it nice and dry like. Sighing, "But it helps that S'kiro has let a couple of us bunk with him. My flits are around his while we are together."
