The boil was actually, a rather skilled deer. Not a reindeer but a deer all the same. He pulled the sleigh with minimal direction and aside from a few bumps in the road, Lan actually found herself enjoying the little ride. One deer drawn sleigh with no need to walk in the slush or the mass of… discolored snow, (not yellow thank goodness, but really, some halloweeners were leaving slime trails that were freezing a variety of colors just what- they should be indoors for one thing, and secondly they made the ground ice covered and okay actually on second thought. She was okay with it. Because the frozen slime trails were having people tripping this way and that.). Once at the Entrance to the Lost Clans however, Lan smiled at Uller.

“Alright then. As you have done the service requested, I mucst provide the promised payment. Shall I unhook you or leave it on? Im sure you could get more customers if you waited a bit.”

Thankfully for Uller, Lan was rich. Rich in the sense she had a nice stockpile of sugar cubes for guests. Silver seeds aplenty from the spirit week- She was rich in her own way, though token wise… she was very careful with her tokens. She needed to save them up, use them to get the home she wanted and not this… communal thing. Even if it was shared by other nobles there was a certain pride in having her own home, a certain vanity that she could fill with her being able to had it made as she liked. Or maybe that was just Lan wanting things again. It was debatable.

At the request to be untied she sighed. “Really, you do look quite nice. With the right colors, you could pass off as an aid to my own clan even. Granted your horns would need a bit of shaping but.. hrm. No, they could just be adorned to suit. They have that certain quality to them-“ Her mind was going to the way flowers were often arranged. Though the boil would get less flowers, more like bells and tassles. Still she untied him with a light smile, offering him his necklace. “Now come. I suppose you have your own business to attend to as I do mine. My.. area is not that far. Just be mindful that you are my guest. I’d hate to have you removed.” No she wouldn’t.

She scowled at the idea of getting a shoulder ‘full of teeth’. Were Halloweeners really that brutish? Oh right they were halloweeners, of course they were how could she forget something so simple. They might as well have been talking to minipets really, (sometimes she could swear her makini was more properly trained than students. Initiates needed a bit more training really. Thinking themselves as equals. More like… kept pets. They would be pampered but they were still pets in the end). “I cannot help looking at you in a certain way if I have no idea what you are even talking about. Stop getting foolish ideas in your head boil. I was merely saying how nice you might look if dressed properly.”
Monster or demon or whatever, it didn’t bother Lan. In the end, halloweener was halloweener. As they reached the dwellings Lan looked about. “Odd, were are-“ Gold eyes went over, spying one of the soldiers supposed to be on duty throwing a snowball. “………..wait here” She went inside leaving the boil to his own devices for a short while. When she returned? She motioned him to follow, her makini on her shoulder. “Come, and name you price. We don’t have all day after all.”

At the shoes, Uller earned himself a scowl. Rude. Very much so. Still, she owed him a payment, and she was not one to deny basic truths or facts. She’d made the offer and not settled on an exact price. Only a type of item. Smiling a bit, she motioned to a nearby table and pillows. A medium sized wooden box sat on the table, plain, it was tied with twine to keep it sealed. Sitting herself down, she pulled the string free to open the box- Sugar cubes. A rather large assortment of them. In a variety of colors no less. “Green tea, strawberry, mango, the ones with a red dot have a small mochi center. Of course the white are the plain ones…. I take it that this is the sort of payment you might be interested in? Of course, if you prefer just the plain ones, I have a small tin of those as well. I can compensate the difference in price with silver seeds if need be.”

Uller was a lucky one. Lan was generous when she felt it would behoove her to be such. And when she had such a valuable service done for her? She was willing to give into such demands. But- “You may accept the box as well. Keep in mind however, this is far more than I normally pay. Consider it… a show of goodwill. If you return to my employ at any other time and do just as well, your payments will be of this quality. Perhaps not the same quantity, but I always provide quality when it comes to gifts and payments of this sort.” She motioned to the door.

“Now if our business is at an end, I’m sure you can see yourself out? Or I could have a guard escort you.” She seemed to favor that idea.
