User Image "I guess I'll die.. another day.." A phrase she constantly said every morning of every day to keep her moral up. The female had went home after a mission sent by her father that nearly killed her. All apart of a plan to disarray the pride. But coming back, she found the pride well- and thriving.. lead by her younger brother. When coming back, she was received with great joy, and to find her father had fled with a female. The coward. But without a mission, without a purpose of being there, treated as royalty and respected as a male, Jabari found it hard to 'live'. Almost without any feelings towards any appreciations she had deserved and earned. Only her brother could see through her feelings, sometimes. She was strong, notable, and secure in her own fur but she lacked now, the 'drive' to survive like she had to live off of for so many years til she crawled back in shambles in front of the pride's mouth.

Now, she was out on her own for what seemed to be a few weeks. Once in a while, a member would come and at least note that she was still alive but non came to talk to her. She yearned for a breather from the pride, til she found a purpose. Debating if she would even return to her brother's pride at all.. What seemed to be most important to her now seemed, empty.

The sun, something everyone had taken for granted, laid its rays upon her as she, laid upon a rock slab in the middle of a long grass field. Appreciating the moment on the outside. She knew, because the majority of her pride never get to see the 'sun', was why she appreciated it, and appreciated being above ground. These small things.. others take for granted. But she felt every moment. "It's not my time to go..." Her voice was calm and tender.. Revelating in her own thoughts enough to have been almost oblivious and unconcerned for anyone entering her temp territory..

The day did not weigh so heavy on the shoulders of the lion fast approaching Jabari. Melancholy had never been Bazi's style.

Then again, what did a big oaf like him know about style? His mother had given him opportunity to find a respectable balance between poise and playfulness, and his sister, mother's little echo, was never short a critique of her own. Bazi was not a bad hunter, his sibling used to say; he lacked grace, not skill.

"And who eats meerkats anyway?" Miah had asked him, her nose in the air.

Bazi loved his sister and his mother both, but as far as missing them... Well. Give him a nice, juicy meerkat over their scrutiny any day.

No, seriously. Give him one. He wasn't having any luck hunting them down!

Bazi was sure there had to be tunnels around here somewhere. When he spotted Jabari, he understandably assumed her to be one of the locals. Who better to ask to direct him toward his favorite treat? He approached casually, yet spoke respectfully.

"Excuse me, miss, I'm looking for meerkats. Have you seen any?"

User Image A voice traveled and lingered for a moment before her ears tuned in. Usually it would have been hard to sneak up on her, but she was appreciating the moment.. Lifting her ears and turned to look... Nothing really rattled her now a days, after nearly dying so many times. She was used to the 'surprise' factor and reacted as if it was an every day occurance. The question that had been chimed made Jabari blink a few. Chuckle some.

"Miss?" A softer and warmer chuckle before she smiled... To herself.

"Meerkats?" It hadn't been too long since she had seen a colony. Which made her lips move to one side to think about it. Lifting up her body and curling her tail around her hunches. "If I'm not mistaken stranger. A colony lies some near a spring not far from here." Then finally she saw the male in question whom spoke to her as she turned around to answer him properly.

A male. Bowing her head slightly as to acknowledge his presence and his splendor as a male. She was from a pride where they were praised anyhow, and being a royal- she had to keep her morals straight as well as her respect for them. "Jabari..of the brotherhood." Giving herself an introduction- as per the royal training she had, but unlike their snot nose training, she was humbled and a veteran of war for being so young. The scars laid decoratively across her body. "And may I ask~ who needs this information~?"

A bow of the head hardly struck Bazi as anything out of the ordinary. He'd been taught that was just good manners, and he clumsily mirrored the gesture. A voice in the back of his mind that sounded suspiciously like his mother's scolded him for not having thought to do so sooner. Too much a creature of whim, her son.

Often derailed by a pretty face as well.

"Name's Bazi." He punctuated the introduction with a playful, upward pitch of his voice. Woe be the day he became some sort of cad, but as for a little flirting... What could it hurt? The way his eyes darted over her coat, scars, and eyes was perfectly harmless.

"What's the Brotherhood?"

User Image "Bazi... A wonderful name. Seems fiiting." Referring to how 'strong' of a name it sounded, yet seemed lighthearted all at once. He even seemed a bit, well charming. She smiled in reply to him. "The brotherhood is a pride of strength, loyal and family. A truce between all brothers.." Bowing her head yet again, the slowly jumped off the rock she sat in.. Looking about. "I can take you to their nesting grounds, the meercats? I must say, if not befriending one.. then you are very hopeful to catch one." Chuckling with a strong yet humble voice to her.

A family unit? Nothing spectacular about that, Bazi thought. Good to hear that the concept was still alive and well, though. Did his heart good and would have made his mother proud if she were around to hear it.

"Befriend one?" Bazi snorted and exhaled a half-assed laugh. "No, I want to eat one. Can you really show me?"

The way he shuffled anxiously on his paws indicated he was more than ready to follow if so.

User Image "Befriend a Meercat?!" She couldn't help but laugh at the notion, but her laugh was dry and for a mid-aged lioness no less. "Oh my aren't you one for a challenge. Here, follow me." As she slid away from him and started off in the northeastern direction, lifting her tail to softly caress his leg before she headed off. "You coming right?" As she trotted off in that direction. The breeze ruffled her fur, and danced with her. Looking back at him every so often until she was next to him and leading him in the direction.

"Have exp in this trade have you? And how may I ask, did you acquire such a delicacy for a taste? If your after it now, I'm sure you had tried them once before?" Making small talk, any conversation to keep herself entertained, although looking him over, she was already entertained just by his deposition.

"I'm sure you will find many here, their mounds not too far off are very intricate.. That is the only thing I admire of them. Yet, I have never tasted not a single one. Hm. Do they taste any good for being so small."

Follow Bazi did, but for a moment there was a hesitation in his steps that proved that coy sweep of her tail had not gone unnoticed. He tried to dismiss any assumptions about it by time they were walking parallel to each other. The glances being spared his way didn't help to quell any speculation her intentions might be... ahem.

"It's an acquired taste alright," he offered. Not much reward for all the effort it took. Catching a meerkat before they dove into one of their tunnels could take an entire day and even then there was no guaranteed success.

At the moment, certain other ventures appeared more promising.

"What did you say your name was?"
