Many months passed since the stallion had last been home. He had left to make his own life, and decided that his family didn't need to be a part of it. Adrastos felt that his mother was overbearing, and that his father was just egging her on, but in time realized that his father was simply supporting his mate, and the mare just cared too much. Although he'd never admit it, the wind missed his family, and his home. They were his support system.
The cold winds of winter made their way through the trees, and they caused the stallion to ruffle his wings in an attempt to warm them. The frigid air was far too unforgiving to take flight in, although it'd be a quick one. Walking was less strain on his already shivering body. At least at home, he knew, there would be warmth.

Forbidden had been gone for quite some time now, and Nivuxys was growing worried. The mare almost never left his side, and when she did, it was only briefly. What made matters worse is that she didn't say where she was going or how long she'd be. This caused Niv to pace impatiently, awaiting the mare's return. Should he leave to look for her and she return, he was afraid she would think he'd left her for good, and would go off looking for him, which would cause them to only further lose each other. At least if he were to stay put, she would find him.
He paid no mind to the chilly winter air; he was too busy worrying. The pacing kept his temperature at a decent level, and the darkening sky only made him pace faster. "Come on, come on, come on..." He sighed, and was so stressed he didn't even notice the sound of footsteps drawing nearer.

Adrastos could hear the constant footsteps at the dwelling, and he couldn't help but smile. Surely they were hard at work on something his father had decided needed doing. Maybe the two-legger from his grandmother's teepee would even be there! The stallion picked up his pace, excited to see his family. When he pushed his way through the bushes, though, the only one there was Niv. His smile faded and his curiosity was raised. The male's father looked rather worried, which didn't seem like him at all. "Hey, Dad..." He examined the surrounding area for anybody who may be hiding in the shadows, but saw nobody. His mother's scent was missing. "Where is everyone? Is Mum just out collecting things?" He was unsure of what there was to be collected in such cold weather, but it was a good possibility.

The stallion's heart jumped at the sound of another. His automatic reaction was to assume that it was his mate, but when he saw who it was, Niv didn't quite know how to react. "Adrastos?" A half-hearted smle crossed his face, and he walked to greet the boy. A few nuzzles were exchanged before he began to speak. "Your mother is out. She's been gone a while now, but I'm sure she'll be back soon. She always is." The words didn't comfort the stallion, but it was nice to see his son again. "Where have you been? It's been a terribly long time, you know. We were getting worried about you." Scolding the young male was taking a little bit of the worry off of Forbidden's where-abouts, and that was nice.

(( Invited by Pumpkin to join this RP )) The cold in the air was getting harder to ignore. Forbidden felt the shift in temperature mostly in her wings. The thinness of the membrane of her wings made it hard to keep warm. It was taking a toll on the mare as she struggled to chart her path home. Niv was waiting for her and she was sure that her mate was beyond worry now. Her mouth twitched in a small smile as she imagined the furrows in the ground that Niv might have created.
She had gone out looking for certain items and she had not been successful. However she had discovered something else in her journey. A tiny movement alongside her mane made the mare pause. It seemed as though her guest was trying to burrow more deeply. She didn’t begrudge her guest though. Her guest needed the warmth more than she did. The mare sighed heavily before turning the final corner towards home. She had been away far longer than normal. She would have to make sure that she stayed closer to home for the next little bit. It would ease his mind. Wouldn't it?
"Just hold on Cas we are almost home."

Adrastos moved his wings in a shrugging manner. "I've been... Around, I guess. I've just been out, doing my thing." He really hadn't done much, just wandered and explored the lands away from home and his grandmother's teepee. There was no adventure, no striking young mare to steal his heart, no excuse for not visiting. He just didn't feel the need or the want to. Where were his siblings, anyway? "So how long has Mum been gone? You act like it's been more than a few minutes..."

Niv couldn't help but chuckle. "Your thing, huh? I'm not entirely certain that I'd like to know exactly what that entails. Big adventures, perhaps? Or making a fool of everything?" The stallion ruffled his wings and flattened his ears uncomfortably at the mention of Forbidden once more. "It's been... Longer than usual. But I'm sure she's all right. She always comes back, after all." He began to pace again, worry building up in his heart. His nostrils searched for the familiar scent of the mare, and the ends of his mouth turned downward after not finding it. She'd be back soon, surely.
