Powers & Abilities

++++Curaret.||Healing properties of Sage.
Level 5 Healing ability raised to a wound 1.5 Inches deep, can also heal 1st Degree burns and reduce 2nd degree burns to 1st degree but cannot heal those ones entirely. Able to re-attach lost limbs but not fully re-connect needed things, but it provides enough to allow a real doctor to come in and help. She can also slow down the rate of poison so it's speed is slowed down by 50% if its going through someones blood but she cannot fully stop it. Curaret can also be used in it's opposite form - Noceo - which does the same amount of damage that this spell would heal in a battle setting.

++++Quiescent.||Sage is used to calm.
Level 5 Now a passive ability, anyone within a 10 foot radius of Anastasia will remain calm for 2-3 hours unless there is contact with her, contact extends the calm for another hour depending on length of contact. Not active during fights.

++++Effluvium.||Sage used in Shamanistic Smudging.
Level 5 A dense cloud of obscuring fog that makes it hard for 'evil/bad spirits' to come near her, as well as attackers. The fog surrounds her in a 20x20 foot radius and slowly expands outward for another 10-15 feet depending on wind. At this level if one spends too long in the fog they can become partially blind for a couple minutes if they don't have a malice. If the opponent does have a Malice it makes the opponent want to flee.

++++Cleanse Spirit.||Spiritual properties of Sage.
Level 5 A non-combat ability only - She cannot be the one who is fighting but she can help or make it harder for others to fight; Anastasia can cleanse someones spirit of certain bad-things. She can successfully stun a Malice for a certain amount of time, the time it's stunned depends on the strength of the Malice and the strength of the host body; stunning ranges from 1 minute to half an hour. If the opponent has a Mane, it strengthens the Mane for the same amount of time as it would stun a Malice - but the Stronger the Mane, the longer it remains buffed. The buff also is dependent on the host body and how the Mane interact.

++++Hallow.||Keeping bad things away
Level 5 Can set up to a 30-foot area around Anastasia that she places to ward off anyone with a Malice. The area is guarded by a magic circle that she cannot leave the area that is set. The area can be seen faintly - the circles 'wall' glows a soft green light. She can also use this power to trap a person with a Malice inside of it with her. If Anastasia leaves the circle she has designated, Hallow breaks and she cannot use it again for an hour. The time it can stay up while she's there is an hour. In battle if used as a shield, it has 10HP and once broken any damage not done to it is done to Ana. Once broken, Anastasia can use the skill again in a couple turns.

++++Phasing.||Racial Power.
Level 1 Ghost Metas are able to allow objects, people, and other things to pass through them. Younger ones have a hard time controlling this ability. The power never lasts more than 2 minutes, no matter how old the Ghost is. +5 to Defense.

++++Power name.||Item Relation
Level 1🌿 🌿 🌿

Resistances

++++Poison.||Her Healing powers
Level 5 Anastasia has a good resistance to Poison, allowing her to take at least half-damage from poison based abilities of this level.

Weaknesses

Fire Can be easily hurt by flames, but she lets off a nice scent if she gets burnt.
Any non-normal Attacks Any elemental attack will harm her, just not as much as fire.

Phase 1
#000 - Child
[Some things have been "redacted" so to speak to account for possible changes]

Giovanni de’Corvus had been a previous student at Metamorphosis Academy, if you could have called him a student back then seeing as he was more interested in skipping class and hanging out with the friends he had and having adventures that took them to the tops of buildings and into the dark tunnels of their houses basements. He had hesitantly decided that he would return to the Academy two years after he had moved away with his mother Aderyn as they followed the large family with the Feral Meta he had grown so attached to back then. Things between them ended up not working out after Anox had found out about his secondary form and about the destruction that was caused during it thanks to his item being a Cameo of the Arch Angel Michael and his race being decidedly Demonic in nature, causing the two opposites inside of his body to lash out and hurt those he held dear. Of course Giovanni had tried to help him, but he was just pushed further and further away and they ended up growing apart once they had both reached their Teens.

It had taken the Raven-like Meta two whole years to work up the guts to finally move on, returning back to the place which he had originally called home and the place where everything began. That; and his mother had hidden him during the entire ordeal between the Academy and the Humans, which thankfully ended without him being hurt, but as he grew older he found that he wanted to help be a part of those of the Academy who could bring peace to the two different groups. He knew it would be hard, but it was always hard when you were trying to work for the Minority against the largest Majority of the entire world. Giovanni looked up at the walls that surrounded the Academy, keeping it apart from the small suburb that it had nestled its self in, the suburb that most of the parents or to-be parents of future or current Meta’s lived, some of them were also owned by Meta’s who didn’t want to live on the grounds but just outside of it, which gave the area an air of magic considering what the Meta’s were. It was quite amusing when he had started looking for a house in the area seeing as he had to contact a Realtor over the phone, and of course they couldn’t see him, so it was quite amusing to see their face when they saw a fully grown man with blue hair with gold tips and matching feathered wings. He had already bought his house and made the first payment on it when he decided to check in with the Academy, sending a letter to the Elder he could remember the best – Nova.

Walking along the wall of the Academy, he had walked to the wall instead of the gate seeing as he wanted to get a look of it from the outside and not the inside like he had remembered, he soon came to the large gate that separated his own kind from the world, much like a family with a small yappy dog would fence off their yard to keep their yappy dog away from sneaky little children who wanted the yappy dog for their own pet and play toy. As he reached the gate, he was greeted by an ethereal being that could only be Nova and her graceful form. Bowing his head in respect, Giovanni waited as she opened the gate and welcomed him onto the grounds. “Welcome back, Giovanni.” She said in a voice that sounded just as beautiful as she looked in her splendid purple robes.

Giovanni bowed his head again, listening to the gate close behind him and lock, “Good morning, Miss Nova. I know it’s been a long time since I have set foot here, but I was hoping we could talk about some things.” He chirped, tilting his head slightly. Even though his item was only a mask back then, he had obtained quite a few quirks of the Raven. Nova nodded slightly and started to walk along the inside wall of the Academy, her hands placed quickly in front of her with her fingertips touching the respective mirrored one on the other hand. “It is nice to see our old students returning to the Academy, more so under much nicer circumstances such as yours,” as she started, she looked towards Giovanni who was following by her side, his own arms down at his sides, “but that is a different matter entirely at this current moment seeing as the person who wanted to talk is you. What did you want to inquire about?” the Elder Angel asked curiously as she pursed her lips slightly as her eyes looked over the grown Angel next to her, remembering when she saw him off in the distance playing as a child. Even as a Meta herself, it was still a strange thought to know that their kind grew up so much faster than Humans.

The Raven-Meta solemnly stared at Nova for a few seconds after she had finished talking, trying to remember what he was going to say seeing as his train of thought had so un-gracefully derailed after her statement about Meta’s returning under more unfortunate circumstances. Shaking his head quickly to get back on track, he brought a hand to his mouth and coughed slightly, “I was going to ask if there was anything I could do to help the Academy seeing as I’m back. I know I wouldn’t be able to do anything major like a Teaching position,” Giovanni sighed, scratching the back of his head before continuing on, “but something to do to help. My mother was keeping up on the news about the entire thing between the Humans and our kind and as things went on, I found out that I wanted to help somehow in some way seeing as I couldn’t help
Anox.” As he said the name, Nova stopped and placed a hand on his shoulder, smiling sadly.

“What happened to Anox was something that we could have done something about if only his family had stayed closer to us. His family and your mother and you had moved far enough away from the Academy that it was hard for even us Elders to help you. Even Avon, the Demon Elder, had trouble finding any way to help. In the end, he did find a way, but it was a way that we wish we didn’t have to take.” As she spoke, Nova turned to face the younger Meta, placing both of her hands on his shoulders. Giovanni looked at her, his brows furrowing in confusion, “What… do you mean? What did they do to him?” He asked quickly, his eyes going wide in horror, hoping that the first thought he had was that of the spirits he could commune with. Had Anox joined them?

Nova smiled slightly, her eyes showing an odd emotion that Giovanni couldn’t quite place, sadness? “We had to give him something that would make it so he could live a less painful life. He has been given the chance of getting a new item and abandoning the old one but in return he has to give up his memories and the current life that he has lived. It’s sort of like a Time Machine for that specific Meta.” As she spoke, she seemed to be cheerful as she went through it, knowing that what Anox had taken was something that they tried to reserve for specific cases like the event that caused the entire ordeal between Meta’s and Humans not too long ago. She smiled a little more, “Anox is living a much happier life now, even though he has changed.”

Giovanni smiled slightly, his heart now feeling a little lighter to know that his childhood friend had gotten a chance to live a happy life, even if it was without him. “That’s good.” He whispered, looking away from Nova before she managed to get his attention again by speaking up. “Now, as for what you were talking about, we do have something that you can do. Something to help the Academy to become something that isn’t what the others are thinking it is and what they are using us for. As I said earlier, we are having more Meta’s return to us and not for good reasons.” She had to stop to catch her breath and collect her thoughts. “Lately the people we had decided to give a Meta to have either returned them after finding out that they aren’t doing what they expected them to or they’re abusing them, and in some rare cases they just drop the child off and don’t return.” As she paused again, she turned Giovanni around and started to lead him towards the main building of the Academy, a smile returning to her face. Nova hadn’t been her usual cheery self as of late thanks to the recent events and the sudden influx of children needing to be re-homed or ending up in the dorms, but this was a very happy turn of events.

“What – they’ve been returning kids?” Giovanni asked suddenly, nearly tripping over his own feet as the Elder shoved him to get him moving. She nodded, “Sadly, yes. In most cases it’s because of the child accepting an item and their powers not doing what they were expecting. We had one child who had been given a stick of spearmint in an attempt to calm the parents down, but it ended up that all they wanted was the calming effect so we had to get the child back. I have one in mind for you, she’s a sweetheart but I’m not sure how you will react to her… she’s under the guidance of Tendren…” Nova muttered the name, not quite liking the Ghost Elder all that much because of his tendency to go off on his own and ignore his duties as an elder. The Raven-Meta had to stop, not only from running into the main buildings doors, but to catch his breath and look at the Angel Elder, now very confused as to what she was babbling on about. “W-who’s Tendren?” He asked, placing a hand on his chest and one on the nearby wall that separated the two main double doors of the building.

Nova blinked a couple times at the younger Meta, though she seemed to giggle, “I guess you weren’t around when he was found. He’s the Ghost Elder.” She smiled down at Giovanni who just stared at her with a dumbfounded look on his face, “We have ghosts now?” He asked, knowing that spirits existed seeing as he could commune with them, but ghosts at the Academy? Now he had seen everything. “Alright… okay… so…” Giovanni stood and stretched back, his spine cracking a couple times before he stood upright, “You… judging by how fast you were going and where you shoved me to and what you were going on about, you would love it if I took this child under my wing?” he asked, tilting his head yet again, this time scratching his cheek idly. The elder nodded, smiling a bit more, “Yes.”.

With a sigh, Giovanni looked through the buildings doors, running a hand through his blue hair. “I… guess I can try… but can you tell me more about what I’m getting into?” He asked as he looked back towards the elder, his Elder more or less. The Angel nodded, pushing the doors open and making her way inside, waving her hand for him to follow. Once inside, they started down the long hallways of the building, it’s labyrinth like walls seeming to twist and turn without need. “Her item is Salvia Officinalis, or Sage. The original couple who had been chosen to take our little Ghost in had decided to give her the item for its medicinal advantages much like the spearmint boy. They gave her the Sage because of its numerous properties, but her powers did not manifest as they had liked, so they returned her to us with a curt note attached to her shirt saying something along the lines of ‘Your race is full of Bull and you should feel bad’ Sort of thing. Quite rude if I do say so myself.” Nova sighed slightly, stopping in front of a door that was a simple door with a small window near the top, which she peered through. “She was given back to us without a name…” She murmured, turning to face Giovanni who now looked like the adult he was, his face solemn as he looked through the window and saw the girl that Nova had talked about.

She was adorable, light lavender hair and pale green skin, heterochromatic eyes and a smile that could brighten your day during even one of your gloomiest moods. Tiny and lanky, the girl moved about the room as she played with a few other children who had also been itemed and returned to the Academy. Seeing such a room and it being so full of children made his heart sink, a hand reaching to his shirt to grip its fabric just above his heart. “No one should have to deal with that, not our kind, not the humans, no one.” Giovanni muttered as he continued to look through the window.

Nova nodded in agreement, looking at him and then back through the window, “Normally we do a process to figure out who is best suited to take care of a child, but even with our lengthier and more rigorous process some still slip through the cracks and with so many returning to us like this means that we’re only viewed as items to them. Even though you haven’t gone through the process or trials most go through, you’re one of us. Your files are still here within the Academy walls, we’ve kept track of you and how you’ve progressed, we technically have more information on you than we do any of the humans that we have coming here to request transcripts to adopt a child.” She murmured, not wanting the children to know that they were outside the door seeing as they were all happy as they played, some of them laughing, some of them looking at the others with confused looks. With a sigh, she turned to look back at the younger Meta, who didn’t look disturbed by what was just said. It was decently known that all Meta’s had a record here in the Academy, even when they left, but few knew that the Elders still kept track of them for as long as they could in case of emergencies.

“Would you like to take care of her?” She finally asked, setting a hand on the doorknob as she looked at Giovanni who looked back to her. He nodded, “Yes… I may not be the best parent out there, but I know I won’t be like the caretakers she was given to and then returned like a Christmas present that was not wanted.” He sighed, running a hand through his hair yet again. Giovanni knew he was getting himself into one heck of a mess, but this was probably the only and best way to help the Academy and it was what he wanted. If he himself couldn’t help with the spats between the Meta’s and the other beings, he could at least help raise those who could possibly do it.

With a smile, Nova opened the door and walked through it, Giovanni following on her heels. The children paused their playing and roughhousing to look at the Elder who was smiling her calm and gentle smile at them all, which received smiles back. “Ghostling.” She called out, waving her hand to the pale green and lavender girl who seemed to phase slightly as she started to walk, something she had yet to get the hang of. Looking up at Nova, the girl smiled and seemed to phase out and in again as the Elder reached down to grab the girls’ hands, “Yes Missus Nova?” She asked cutely, her heterochromatic eyes wide and full of life. “We found someone for you.” Nova smiled a little more, watching the girls eyes widen and attempt to look over the Elders shoulders, which she couldn’t.

Letting go of the small ghosts hands, the Angel Elder stepped out of the way, allowing Giovanni and the girl to meet. The girls eyes widened even more, her smile widening as she saw that her parent-to-be was someone of her own kind, well maybe not the same race, but close enough! “Am I gonna get a name?” She asked as Giovanni knelt down to get on eye level with her, placing a hand on her head and ruffling her hair slightly. “Of course, what kind of parent would I be if I didn’t give you a name?” He asked with a slight chuckle and a smile, his hand moving from her head to one of his pockets as he tried to think of a name for her.

That’s when he felt something in his pocket, a small circular object, a bracelet. Taking it out, he stared at it for a couple seconds, his fingers running over its surface and finding the now faded ‘A’ on it. “How about Anastasia?” He asked her, knowing that she wouldn’t know it. Sure, it wasn’t his friends name, but it did start with an ‘A’ and it was a nice name.

The ghost nodded, “I like it, it sounds like a princesses name!” She giggled, her attention had been on Giovanni’s hand when he had taken it out of his pocket seeing as it looked like he was holding something. Anastasia tilted her head and pointed at his hand curiously, “Whas that?” the ghost asked, blinking cutely.

He smiled, handing her the bracelet, “A memento from a friend I made here at this Academy years ago. I want you to have it, but only if you take good care of it, alright?” Giovanni asked in a whisper, allowing her to take the bracelet before clasping both of his hands around her smaller one. The girl nodded, smiling back, “Okay.” She giggle a bit more, accidentally phasing through her soon-to-be-daddie’s hand, the bracelet with her. Looking at it, Anastasia put the bracelet onto her tiny wrist and smiled at it.

“What was her name?”

“Adeline.”
