Shooting stars and colorful rainbows
Innocence, right from the start
Where did that all go?
Why did I leave it behind?
To dwell in this darkened reality
Of death and dying?
Colorful rainbows and enchanted fairytales
Unicorns and dragons, flying whales
Princesses in castles waiting for their Prince Charming,
Why did it ever have to end, when it was just starting?
Here... I know it's probably not considered a real poem, but I honestly don't even know how to write a real poem, like I think I stated before. I just write from my heart. I hope that's good enough.

I think it's awesome! And don't worry, it is poetry, for anything written from the heart is considered poetry, whether it be millions of pages long or one word. There are styles of poetry, but personally, I prefer free style. Anyways, keep writing, because you're amazing at it! heart

Uhm...
I decided to write a poem a while ago. Again free verse.
Here-
Goodnight O' moon,
for now the sun awakens;
A new day has dawn,
and when sunset comes,
I wait on my balcony to speak with you again.
Again, I need advice on how to make it better...
Also, a pie for the first person who finds out what inspired me to write this!

the wonderful thing about poetry is that despite the fact that there are styles and types that are well known, it can be a number of different things. it doesn't have to have some deep meaning or changes someone's view on life, even bring someone to tears. it's a beautiful form of art that expresses something no matter how big or small by manipulating the language to do it in a wonderful way
both of your poems are good, you shouldn't sell yourself short. and free verse is sometimes the greatest way to write, in my oppinion anyways, because it's completely honest

Poem #3- I Am
I am a girl,
A girl with hazel eyes,
A girl with near-raven hair,
A girl with intensely pale skin.
I am a girl,
A girl who hopes,
A girl who dreams,
A girl who loves.
I am a girl,
Who believes there is magic everywhere if one only cares to find it,
Who believes that life is all about choices,
and who thinks that life is beautiful.
I am the girl,
Who dreams of a better future,
Who feels sorry for the 'bad guys',
and hopes that they get their own happy ending,
I am the girl,
Who escapes from Earth,
Into Azeroth,
Into Erinn,
Into imagination.
I am the girl,
Who simply wishes to be respected,
Who will try her best to be respectful back,
and who wishes others to love and respect life.

Bloorigard2 Uhm... Can I post a short story here, sort of from a dream I had last night...? It's PG. Edit- Ok, so not so much of a story, as more like online pets giving their opinions on why I left, and saying i should come back and visit them... I just need to post it somewhere, to save it. yeah, pretty sure. that falls under the category of writing.
