"Okay, I quit," Post-awakening day three was not going any better than the other two days. And nevermind the fact he spent most of the night he awakened face first in a field while his sister raided his ancestor's closet and shrieked like a fourteen year old girl at a midnight premiere. And in that span of time he'd been attacked twice, shoved off a building, and accused of breaking the universe. So Alfheim page was not dealing with the knight thing very well so far.
"You can't quit!" Zia threw up her arms and let them drop dead at her sides while the shiny page walked away from her. "No! You got s**t to do! Responsibilities and... and... hey!" He kept walking! Though, there was admittedly a large gap of logic between the scope of which the two of them were operating. Zia had an only child complex, and a guardian cat complex. She was the boss, she was the mentor, and people had to listen, okay?
In the meantime Alfheim was the spoiled family baby, and by all appearances old enough to be her father. He wasn't taking her s**t.
"I've been attacked twice in three days-- three, if you count being hit in the face by you, thanks-- and got yelled at by a ghost, I officially quit," The page announced, throwing his hands in the air. "Plus my property insurance premium is going to hit the roof thanks to that mess you and your little fri-- stop that."
Zia had hooked her fingers into one of the bracers on his arm and was trying to weigh him down enough to stop his walking away. It wasn't working very well. She wasn't deterred from trying, though! "No no nonono, you're doing it wrong, we gotta find this guy and he's going to explain way better than I did, you gotta trust me! Stop walking! Wrong direction!"

Camelot felt another aura in the area and he moved to investigate it. He was not too far off, and he leaped down from the roofs and onto the street so he could reach it. He was not too off from them, and he was very good now at feeling other Knights around him.
Maybe he just paid more attention for them.
Eventually, he managed to track it down. He was surprised to see Zia with a page, one he had never seen before.
"Zia!" he called, smiling brightly and heading in her direction. He had his shield on his arm, and his cape billowed behind him lazily as he walked up to them. He was actually coming from the direction Alfheim had been heading in.
Because that figured.
"What are you doing out? And who's this? No one's in trouble, I hope?" He always suspected the worst, but hoped for the best. Just in case.

"Oh, someone's in trouble," Alfheim deadpanned, staring at Camelot and trying to figure out if this was positive or negative. The guy seemed all right, even if he was in a full suit of armor, but Noah's experiences with powered people had been surprisingly negative since he became one. Maybe he would have to stop defending terrorists to Phina. Go figure.
"Hi, Camelot!" Zia chirped, one hand releasing Alfheim's bracer to wave enthusiastically at the approaching knight. "I was looking for you!"An 'of course' was left unsaid. Telling Zia the parameters of his patrol area apparently opened Camelot up to constant 'random visits' that were less random and more targeted.
But Alfheim's comment made her drop his arm completely and her eyes roll with a combined head motion. "Don't be so over dramatic." And then back to the mission at hand. "Caaaaameloooot~" She said in a sing songy tone as she bounced to be less behind Alfheim and more between the page and the knight. "This is Alfheim, he awakened three days ago, and he has no idea what's happening. And you know," She flipped both hands between them, "Experience, earth knight solidarity and all that, I figured you could help. Because he doesn't know anything."
Alfheim looked downright indignant. He knew things! Maybe not about knights, but he had learned incredibly little from Zia and managed to so far pick up most of his knowledge on his own. Knights and DMC senshi were new, but regular senshi and negaverse agents he totally had down. Kind of.
But Camelot didn't seem so bad. He at least wasn't giving off the same marker Valhalla was. Though poor Valhalla was in the midst of an emotional rollar coaster, Alfheim still didn't appreciate the reaction. "I... nice to meet you," He tried to be polite in spite of his first instinct to just change his storming off direction.
"And it would be really nice if he didn't die and stuff," Zia added. "Because he's family and all? So yeah."

Camelot looked at Zia with that same sense of marvel and confusion he always had when she spoke to him. Her energy caught him off guard, no matter how used he was getting to it now. He smiled at her and listened intently, glancing between the two.
"A new knight?" he managed, nodding his head at Alfheim and then offering his hand when the time felt right. Or rather, when he was given a chance. He imagined this was going to be another interesting interaction in a long slew of them whenever she was around. He found himself looking forward to it, oddly enough.
"Camelot, of Earth," he said in greeting, because a proper introduction seemed appropriate and he wanted to say his name with fewer syllables and vowels than Zia often put into it. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Alfheim. Hopefully Zia hasn't dragged you here against your will. But I am more than willing to help you, if you need and want it! Did she say family?"
That hit him a bit late, and he blinked, looking at Zia again.

Alfheim took Camelot's hand and went through the motions of the gesture before dropping it. "Pretty new," He said with a nod, though Zia had already given an exact date to his rude awakening. "Also pretty against my will, but not so much her doing, I guess." It had been made pretty clear to him this was what the universe wanted and he, and his ancestor, and Valhalla, were going to all have to suck it up.
Fate apparently gives zero ******** family bit was answered in unison, like they both had the idea to answer, except where Zia chirruped, "He's my brother" Alfheim felt the need to interject 'half-brother', and even though he looked oblivious, it was clear it didn't go unnoticed by Zia, who looked up at him like he'd just slapped her. Their two other brothers did that all the time, but Noah never had. Maybe they grew further apart than she knew. Maybe it was a side effect of him trying to ditch the family screw-up label. Either way, it visibly hurt.
"And oh god yes," Alfheim was much more tuned into the offer for help. "I just.. I have no idea."
"Yeah," Zia tried her best to pretend that awkward family moment totally didn't happen. "Apparently it's genetic, so he doesn't even have past memories or anything so, like, he's just a baby." She said about a man nearing twice her age.

Camelot smiled and nodded, listening and trying not to look as amused as he felt. It certainly made up for the awkwardness from before, and his general worry for Zia. He was glad that there was someone else near her to look after her, though he didn't voice that thought.
He didn't think it would help at the moment.
Family was important, regardless of how distant they felt. There was obviously a large distance between himself and his own son, more than he knew considering he had no idea his son was a senshi, but that did not make him any less family. And he now had a new step daughter, who he loved.
Family was family.
"Well, I can help in any way you'd like. I think the most important thing, right off the bat, is just to learn a bit more about things. I mean, everything kind of changes once you power up, but in its own way it stays exactly the same. It's strange to see how everything interlocks... like seeing behind the screen at a movie."

"Yes!" Zia jumped and then again, this time pointing to Alfheim, "Yes! Tell him about bad guys, because his skull is too thick."
Alfheim heaved an exaggerated sigh and let his shoulders sink while he looked up to the stars in an exasperated, silent plea from unknown forces. "Zia..."
"Because we ran into a Dark Mirror senshi last night--"
"Ugggggggggh"
"And I swear he wanted to take her home and feed her dinner and give her a jacket. Instead of like, kicking her a** back to mirrorspace for the night."
"She was like fourteen!" Alfheim's voice cracked as he threw his hands up. He still didn't quite understand Chaos, and the way Zia explained it made no sense because even with nearly being youma food 35465463 billion times, his mind was still firmly rooted to a reality where there was no such thing as magical space girls or freaky knight genetics or reincarnation. And even if it wasn't, he had a hard time with the concept of having to fight little girls in dresses. Because, what? But either way, it had devolved into bickering. Full on talking-over-each-other slowly rising voices bickering about whether or not Mimistrobell had been nice and if she wasn't whether or not it was because Zia was practically daring her to attack them, at least until it was an entirely unintelligible shouting match which only paused when Alfheim threw his hand over Zia's face. "Just! Stop! Stop talking!"
Zia stopped before pulling his glove off her face with a disgusted screech. She didn't want his smelly leather gloves over her mouth! And it seemed like their poor audience had been completely forgotten judging by the lack of shame the were acting four and seven instead of their actual ages, until they both looked at him like a referee in the middle of a brawl. "Back me up! Back me up here! Because I'm estimating his lifespan at like two months tops if he keeps trying to pet Chaos babies like kittens."
"Hey, I did just fine before I awakened," Alfheim countered. "And they're all half my age!"

Camelot watched with an eyebrow arched. Just what was he getting himself into here? He looked at Zia when she called for help, laughing and shaking his head.
"Zia, do you remember how awkward it was to have Valhalla forcing you to do things you didn't want to do. I imagine Alfheim is feeling the same way. Awakening is very stressful and confusing, and it's not unusual to need a little time to figure things out."
He looked at his fellow knight, understanding how difficult it could be.
"Really. I know how you feel. They're all just children, for the most part, being turned into soldiers. It's horrifying to watch, and certainly difficult to battle in. I don't like fighting them, either, if I can avoid it. It's not the only answer, certainly not if we want to find peace with them. Chaos is our enemy, not just those under its control. Not establishing one self as an enemy right away might be a good method."
It was no fun being beaten up all the time, or targeted by particularly aggressive people that decided they hated him.

Zia's shoulders slumped and she rolled her eyes, but with a conceding "I guess." Well, more than guessed, she had officially switched from being the reluctant one to the overbearing pusher. "I... well it's not like he can't go home any time he wants," She said, jumping to the defensive and completely ignoring that is what he was trying to do earlier.
And Alfheim would disagree he was totally free since Zia had the power of crushing guilt over him every time a stupid slip of the tongue was exacerbated into an exchange that made him feel like he owed her something only to be indignant about the blatant manipulation later.
Kinks were still being worked out with the entire dynamic.
Which Zia had set out tonight to solve anyway. "Well, Camelot, you are the knight-man and I leave his training on your very capable hands because I can't deal with him." And she made a gesture referencing the move Alfheim had pulled moments earlier with his hand over her face and glared at him, eliciting an attempt from the page to pretend he was suddenly super interested in the stars.
Though Alfheim at least found solace in Camelot's words since he seemed to actually get where he was coming from. So far others' reactions had ranged from derisive laughter to outright ranting. "Well... thanks. I mean, I'm totally open to-- What? What? Leave me?" He didn't like the implication he needed to be left with anyone like a child, but then glanced to Camelot, scrambling to get a grip, "Not that I don't actually want some non-confusing explanations and help," and back to Zia, and Camelot, before his arms dropped and he looked at the sky again. "Why does everything have to be done under cover of darkness anyway?!"

Camelot smiled and watched the siblings, wondering what it would be like to have a brother or sister. He was an only child, and had not been a very good one at that. His own childhood had also not been interrupted by interstellar war. But then, he supposed times were always changing...
He looked up at the stars, frowning thoughtfully.
"I suppose night is the most dangerous. It is when the youma come out, and when Chaos can go about their deeds without getting more attention than they would want. Also, I don't think civilians would really take to seeing some of us walking around in the day light. We don't... blend in."
Said the man often accused of stepping out of a Ren Faire.
