Yesterday was a good day, today would be better, and tomorrow would be unknown. He kept repeating that in his head as he and his brother Desoi planned to find their father. How strange it was that when his parents vanished, there was always something big that had happened. The latest? His mother was one of the few who fell in the war, now hopefully watching over him and his family. Looking up into the clouds, he stood, carefree. This was the lands that he belonged. Though he was invited to join the Equi' Amiticia, he just had to refuse. Being in a herd was not his thing, but it did seem to his dear friend Regalia's. He knew that he should have felt happy for his only friend to finally find somewhere that he fit in, but now the brown stallion was alone.
Feeling a rush of loneliness, he galloped around for a few paces, only to come to a halt. Something was different. He could feel like if there was something new, but also something old at the same time. Snorting, he blinked, wondering what was even bugging his mind.

Loria was dozing by the tree line of the meadow. For once she was quiet, peaceful even, the birds dared not chirp least they wake the overly happy mare. She had wandered a bit far from home, but this was just an optimistic adventure for an optimistic mare who took an optimistic nap. Footfalls reached sensitive ears and they twitched out a warning. Loria started awake and peeked around her tree looking for whatever had disturbed her blissful slumber. OH. She nearly swooned..she never swooned but he was so brown and powerful and well..damn pretty. What was WRONG with her, he could be in the sixes back pocket! She knew NOTHING. However that was a fine fine stallion..perhaps she was still sleeping? Yes that was it, nipping herself disuaded herself of that fact rather quickly. "Ow." She said. Then gasped had he heard? Had that precious, glorious creature heard? And if she wasn't dreaming that meant he was REAL. Her eyes bugged out and she kept her ears trained on his form.

Had he had known that there was a mare nearby, he would have approached her without really worrying much about her allegiance, but he did not. His train of thought was broken by a faint sound, like the one of a mouse squealing, but he knew for sure that there were none of those creatures around. Alert, he surveyed the scene from where he came from, searching for any signs of someone possibly following him, but did not detect anything. His nose quivered in confusion as his hooves stamped with hesitation. Looking at a not so far distance away from him, his eyes fell upon something that was out of the ordinary. It was not looking like the typical trees, shrubs, or even stones around the meadow, but more like something more living.
Ah, he was able to tell what it was now. A lone azrein like himself. His mind was revolving like a clock, spinning as he decided whether to approach the stranger or to just pretend like he did not notice. For some reason, his legs began heading in the direction of the stranger until he was able to have a much better view. He blinked as his eyes fell upon the light brown to almost tan mare with blue scattered across. He just stood his ground, waiting to see what she would do, for it was evident to him that he was already spotted.

Her eyes grew bigger as the stallion approached her. This was what she had wanted right? Maybe. Oh she hoped he wasn't going to be a crazy one. Then she would have to deal with that beatiful hide in a most blasphemic way. "Um hello. My name is Loria. I apologize for startling you at all. I simply fell asleep a little out of the way and only woke when you approached." Her gaze traveled over a well muscled body and locked onto bright, intelligent eyes that sparkled back at her.

He felt out of place to not have been more polite to a mare. Didn't his mother teach him to introduce himself before the mare did? His mother... Savina... he tried to pull away the thought of her as his ears twitched with curiosity of the stranger's voice. It was like if it was calling him towards her, just like how it lead him to her, but he wondered why. He knew that he did have a certain calling to the troubled, but she obviously did not look troubled. Just seemed to be a little jittery after awakening from her nap. Just like Nasu in his foalhood.
"Don't worry about it Loria." His voice was true. There was nothing that was uncertain for he was free-minded, so he spoke whatever he pleased. He continued staring, but then pulled away when he saw that she seemed to be doing the same. "I'm sorry for umm.. waking you. I had no idea that my run was that loud!" Casting a short smile, he then spoke once again. "I'm Karitoriki, by the way."

Loria paused for a bit. "Oh um don't worry about it. Serves me right for just sleeping anywhere. I thought your run quite lyrical actually not noisy at all." She blinked and looked down. "So what brings you here on this beautiful day?"

Karitoriki did want to simply just reply "Oh, ... I thought I saw something moving and turns out it was you," but that to him felt rude. So what would be a better answer anyways? "Oh, I take a stroll around the meadow every once in a while. It helps release my stress." He then looked down at the grass that parted him from the dirt udnerneath. "Sometimes I would wonder why the grass has not yet complained to us that we were trampling, eating, and possibly separating their families!" He did not know if that made him sound weird, but that was what he felt like saying.

"Hmm I never thought of it that way, but I guess when one slows down and thinks of it, they do have lives, and families, why should we belittle them if they can't speak or move. They are living after all. Green and growing, reaching for Ra as we all do when we get older."
Really it was quite poetic of him. She wondered if he could handle her energy, which somedays approached nuclear fusion.. just like her Aunt.
'Its a wonder the trees don't swat at us for stomping on their roots all the time."

He just had to stare at her with a confused expression. "Loria, who or what is Ra?" He chuckled, taking this 'Ra' as a superior plant that the other plants would want to be. To him, the thought was just absurd, but life was filled of learning, so he knew that this mare would be able to teach him a thing or two that he could possibly retain to tell others in the far future, or just for simplicity's sake of pleasure.
"Yes, I agree. It would be awfully frightening to be attacked by trees! Just imagine the fear that we would carry against them!"

"Ra is my grandfather or great grandfather the sun god. Or so I have been told, but how can a god have children? In any case he is the sun. Hence why the plants reach for him."

"Well then, maybe that would be why the plants enjoy your company." He remarked, and snorted because it was just cheesy. Karitoriki did not know much about gods, but from the stories he had heard, they were well respected, so without second thoughts, he knew that he would to her too.
"Oh, there is a thing where a stallion and a mare decides to have foals and..." he laughed. "You do know this story, right?"

"Yeeeess that makes sense but the go would have to be an azrein at one point and that seems more complicated don't you think? Anyway, where are you from? I am newly a part of my deceased fathers old herd, Equi'Amiticia, perhaps you have heard of it, its run by the Dark brothers."

His head felt like exploding when he heard that name, causing the stallion to get a little whoosy in the inside. "I in fact was invited to stay with the Equi' Amiticia." He blinked, now wondering why she was mentioning this about her father. "But I am originally from an evil alligienced father, and good alligienced mother... If that matters."

"Well considering your polite and friendly manner, it doesn't matter much, however a good aligned mother is a bit comforting. However you don't seem evil at all, quite pleasant in fact and if your mother mated with your father they must have loved each other, making him alright in my books for the most part. Love ignores everything but the heart."

Love ignores everything but the heart.... He was caught up in those few last words that were spoken. It felt.. comforting, but just a little strange for the only other azrein he had spoken to for quite this amount of time alone would have been Regalia. Loria was much more kind to him, whereas Regalia would just see Karitoriki as just a burden, or least, that's what he thought. Smiling, his sea green eyes met her almost crisp golden ones, and nodded.
"Maybe going back to your herd would not be so bad after all. I mean, I guess they are probably the closest thing I have to family now!" His ears moved around a bit, trying to detect if there was anything approaching, but there was none. "What do you say? Travel back to the herd, or continue travelling around first?" He knew that Loria had not even asked if he could stay around with her, but that was what he intended. Besides, they seemed to have gotten off to a clean start.
