Not that anyone had asked him, but Slips probably would not have said that Alouette was the best sub. She was certainly very good, but she was too inclined to emotional displays and making unwelcome advances. She still had to learn that the brothers would bestow affection and attention on her when it suited them to do so, and not whenever she decided she wanted it.
"Did I ask your opinion?" Slips asked in that sexy voice of his that sounded like a steel fist in a velvet glove covered in warm honey.
He wasn't going to discipline her for this transgression. He preferred to have happy subs, to be honest. When they were unhappy they weren't all that much fun. They either became sullen, which was just irritating, or their obedience was perfunctory and Slips liked to know that a sub was thinking only of him when she obeyed him, and not just going through the motions. He only gave her a slap on the rear, hard enough to sting but without claws, to remind her not to become too chatty.
"Eat," he commanded.

Actually, Slips didn't really have anything in mind for Alouette that day. Nothing of a sexy nature, at any rate, although the den could do with some sprucing up and he was perfectly willing to set her to that task, as long as she didn't move anything from where it belonged or change anything too significantly. Slips liked to be in complete control of his environment, which also meant that everything had its place and had to be in its place at all times for his peace of mind. It was fortunate that Rov and Daska liked things in the exact same places he did, or else there would be brother-on-brother violence on a daily basis.
"Eyes down, Alouette," he reminded her. His voice was still sexy, but there was a hardness to it that made it clear he was not amused by Alouette's behavior. This time when he smacked her rear it was a good deal harder than before. Eye contact was never tolerated, and she knew that. Even in moments of extreme intimacy Slips never wanted to look into a sub's eyes.
The sounds she made eating irritated him, but he had already given her a lot to do and think about and he didn't want to overload her brain. He suspected Alouette wasn't really all that intelligent. Wherever she'd come from before, intelligence wasn't a valued trait among females and it showed.
