Information
Kaiya Gender: Female Height: 5' 6" Weight: 135 lb Type: Grass Nature: Gentle Likes: Nature. Very little things beyond that. Dislikes: People and pokemon alike. Things that destroy nature and children. Especially children. Personality: A rather solitary young woman, Kaiya despises people and pokemon alike. She'll come off as a witchy b***h, but alone with her plants, she shows her true colors as a sweet and gentle person. One could sum her up as the beginning of a hermit.
Really, you could call her a jaded girl who lived a rather sheltered life and just wants what she believed is owed to her; A forest. She doesn't know how to handle others or to interact with them, so she chooses to push them away. It's not that she really hates others, but she finds comfort in plants. Besides, people would just use and abuse her. Why should she trust them?
Moves: Absorb Quick Attack Pursuit
Ability: Overgrow
Known Family: Kusa - Younger Brother Kara - Mother
Friends Made: Tin - A young Torchic Boy who seems to have enslaved Kaiya with the hopes and dreams of leading her to a forest in need of a caretaker. Embrez - His bossy sidekick that's a lot less annoying than her partner.

Chances 1556
Kaiya laid asleep, snoring loudly into the comforts of her leafy pillow, ignoring the call of the morning sun. Even despite the soft whine of a little Treecko. “Big sister, big sister. You have to wake up! It's morning time and I'm hungry!” The soft padded fingers of the little boy Treecko pressed into her sides. The snoring subsided to soft grumbles.
“Tell mother. Isn't it, like, her problem to feed you?” growled Kaiya as she rolled over and away from her sibling, Kusa.
“B-but mama left early this morning to care for the trees.” His voice quivering slightly.
Kaiya rolled over and growled at her brother with one golden eye set on him. “Oy, stop giving me those fake tears. Totally faking it so I do all the work for you. Knock it off, Kusa!”
“Fine! You're just a big meanie anyways.” Sticking out his tongue as he scurried out of her tree nest. He disappeared into green of the forest.
Sighing, Kaiya rolled out of bed. “Pain in my leaves, that's what he is.” grumbled the Grovyle girl from under her breath as she stretched and yawned.
She pulled together clothes that she had sewn together. Admiring it a little before slipping on the dress carefully over her sharpened leaves, Kaiya slowly begun her day. It seemed like any other day. Surely started like it as well. The sun shining through the thick foliage above, canopy giving way to only a miniscule amount of sunlight. Allowing tinted green shadows to play along the forest's floor. A smile tilted a side of her lips upwards as she slipped out of the hollow of their home tree. Now, feeling the cool earth between her toes, Kaiya stretched upwards towards the sunlight like the many plants around her. It felt pleasant. She could almost forget the grating voice of her younger brother and her mother's ever so commanding nature that drove her nearly insane. Almost.
Without so much as a sound, her mother appears from the shadow of an old tree. “Kaiya,” she chided. “If you cannot care for your brother, how are you to care for a single forest? Besides, I am busy. I cannot always be there for the both of you. You need to care for your brother...”
“But mother, when will I ever have a forest of my own? I'd rather a tree or a plant over a whining brother any day. I can do it mother. I can do it if you give me a chance!” She stopped a foot on the ground, biting roughly on her lower lip knowing what her mother's answer was.
“No. Your duties are to watch over your brother and that is final.” A harsh sigh left her as she turned away from her daughter. She disappeared into the brush without a second thought or another word to the stunned Kaiya.
Taking in a deep breath, she huffed and stormed away from the area, hands clutched into tight balls. She kept walking and walking til finally, she couldn't walk any longer. Finding herself near the edge of the forest, she collapsed against a tree in thought. She'd grown more so than her mother would admit. Her knowledge of plant life was extensive as were her love for them. She'd taken care of her brother and herself long enough that Kaiya was certain she could pull off caring for a whole forest. Or at least ease into it with a small start.
Reaching into her cleavage, she pulled a small seedling and kissed it. Her thumb gently caressed it's smooth surface as she cooed gently to it as a mother would to a child, “Don't fret. I'll find us a home where you can grow to be big and strong and free.” She brought it back to her chest and grasped it closely. This precious child of hers that she found and nurtured, feeding it energy so to keep it from wilting away. Kaiya's mother had always said she was the one with a true green thumb in the family. Nothing proved that more true then the tiny leaf that cracked through the outer shell of the seed, small roots peering snaking slowly out in search for soil only to wrap around Kaiya's fingers. She smiled at it, rubbing her thumb carefully over the fragile leaf.
She chuckled, musing over how big the sprout will one day get. Her powers continued to feed it allow it to snake up her wrist creating a small brush in her hand. Her mind wandered from the sprout to ponder the days before her transformation. Back when she was a simple Grovyle who strove hard day and night to become like her mother. Back when she was once the prodigy child, the hopeful one with talents far beyond her mother's.
It was the wish that went wrong that changed it all. The faithful night where her mind churned to the point of restless sleep. She'd snuck out of the hollow to watch the stars turn in the night sky when a star fell from up on high. With curiosity and worry, she drew close, hoping that no fauna or florals were hurt in the burnout area. To her surprise, there was little hint of the star's landing. All that remained was a floating star, pulsating just above the green brush. Kaiya's wish had been a simple one, “I wish to have a forest of my own one day.” To think that it would backfire on her so. Kaiya had gain her mother's disdain and mistrust as her mother viewed her as something other than a Grovyle girl. She was an abomination. Something that shouldn't have happened and the thought of that hurt. Her brother replaced her as the prodigy child because at least he still was a being her mother could trust. Whose powers she could believe in. No matter how hard she tried to convince her mother that she was still who she once was, it was all to no avail.
Now she was a slave to her brother and the shame of her mother. What she would give to get out of here, away from people and judging gaze, away from children and their needy cries. She just wants to be left alone with the plants around. Why can't anyone understand that? Why can't her wish come true? Deep down she knew that it wasn't anyone's fault. Pointing the fingers and blaming it on everyone around her was a cover up. The one whose fault it is is hers for being to much of a coward to leave. Kaiya couldn't understand why she just can't stroll out of the forest taking her seeds of hope with her. Maybe she just couldn't find a reason why, maybe she stays in hopes that her mother would change her mind. Whatever it was, Kaiya didn't know. All she knew was that in her hand, a sapling was coming to life. It was a gift that her brother never had and probably never will have.
She smiled softly and kissed the tiny leaves. “You love me as I love you, don't you, little one?” She would've said more, would've done more, but unfortunately her time alone was about to end abruptly as her space was immediately filled with a child and charmander who both fell through the foliage above. They landed with a rough thud on her lap, nearly knocking the sapling out of her hands.
Heaving heavily from the pain of being fallen on, Kaiya recovered long enough to shove the two young ones off her violently, growling all the while with her arm protectively cradling the sapling in hand. “Get off of me, you little brats!”
They both landed flat on their bums with a hard oof. “Ouch, what was that for!?” complained the Torchic boy as he rubbed his backside, his face scrunched up with pain. “You didn't have to shove us, you know? Couldn't just asked nicely..”
The charmander exhaled, groaning in pain as she grasped her head. “Ouch, ouch, ouch – That hurt a lot..” The poke-child reached over and pulled her close to him, inspecting her for any injuries before she gazed up at him with big ol' green eyes. “I'm okay. I'm fine.” She pushed his prodding hands away and sighed. “Are you okay?”
Kaiya could careless about the two and simply moved away. In one fluid motion, she was up a tree and hoping into another. Strangers were in her turf. Strangers that were Pokemon of fire and one who was just like her. The thought made her pause for a moment. A single moment of thought. She could feel the pressure of the day after her wish; The memory of that day was flooding back to her and relived in a split second. The feelings were strong enough to make her pause. To make her consider staying if to see why they were here. What was there for her to regret? If she stayed and listened to that boy or to see if he's alright. Just one little question, maybe to see if he was like her. She wasn't sure what exactly drew her back to them...all she knew was she would regret this decision for a long while.
