They were in his room, both facing each other on his bed. Lex wasn't happy with the outcome; but it was better than all the people he'd ratted out dying, in retrospect. He sighed, ruffling his hair. His coat was off, and he was down to one of his white v-necked undershirts, looking at the Mist with somber eyes.
"Thanks...I owe you one." He muttered, head drooped in a rare show of lack of self confidence. He's messed up badly, and didn't deserve being saved. yet Nevada did it anyway.

Nevada studied the hunter on the other side before making herself comfortable, legs crossed underneath her as she played with her hair. Leaning over, she placed a kiss on his cheek and smiled.
"Consider it paid." She pulled back now instead and pulled over a notebook and pen. "I need you to fill in the details, explained to me what happened and why it happened so I can write the report. Spare no details...because we are going to edit them like the death leader wants."
She tapped her pen on the notebook. What Caelius really wanted was another opinion on the ones that had acted out...would there be relapses of behavior? From this moment, she didn't think so.

Lex repaid her cheek kiss with one of his own, glad that they were still able to do so. Odd, him getting attached. She was a good kisser though, and a great cuddler. He sighed and bit his lip, looking to the side a bit. Having to talk about this thing was going to be awful.
"Alright; but so we're both clear, I really hate this, and I think what that man is doing is wrong." Poison was in his voice now, something that hardly any Hunter ever heard. Caelius was really getting to him.
"Starting from the beginning, then. We were sent out to a place called The Haunted House - not other name was given. We were told to set up camp there, and search the area. While searching we were attacked by Halloween citizens stricken with Insanity." A deep breath, a look to the side again. This was the easy part.
"All things considered, we did get a good bit of data on the Insanity. Unfortunately, though, things got a bit...out of hand. We were all back at base camp, and the House kind of dragged us in with these shadow hands. Very odd."

Nevada hummed happily as she took the notes, jotting them down.
"So haunted house, Insanity and base camp. Wow wow. Location location location." She saw the obvious discomfort on his face. "No one agree's with Caelius...if you were talking about the meeting we just had. Although I am new and I haven't formed bonds beside you and Roland."
"Plus without Alaska, I'm only half a person. Until I find her, or she proves she's alive then I guess we'll see then." She tapped the notebook again.
"What happened next...?"

Lex gave her a little nod, before adding "You're a whole person, Nevada. Truly unique." before he continued on the mission, getting to the rougher part. Actually being in the house, and facing the Insanity.
He gulped.
"I was in a...room, grouped with Ami, Kat, and Solia. We were trying to find our way through the house, but the Insanity kept plaguing us all with tricks on our mind. Dead relatives and Hunters appeared to us, which was very disconcerting. My father was one of the apparitions." A hollowness creeped its way into his voice, a tell tale sign that the man was a touchy subject. Best not to linger on it.
"Then there was this door we had to step through...and that's when everything hit the fan."

"You might think that, But i'm not complete without my twin. Its different for those who are not." Nevada shrugged, "Hard to explain." She continued to write, her hand moving fast for a hunter who was known to be lazy.
"In a room where the fog...Would you say it infected you?" She studied him, "did you have side effects after beyond delusions?"
If fog was the main reason for defects, then it would be best to put that in the notes. Hunters who were younger might be more easily to effect then ones who were not...or even ones that weren't more exprienced. Trainee's more suspectible to fog?
She circled the notes and tapped it.
If that was the case, and fog had infected the younger trainee's...wouldn't that be a danger?
"Door?"

Lex just gave a soft noise of acknowledgement in the back of his throat, letting the subject of being an individual slide. Twins...nope, not going down that path right now. Focus; get this report done, save people. That's what he'd come to Deus for in the first place anyway - to save people.
"Um...yes, I would say so. But no, we only had delusions until we stepped through the door." A sigh as he started.
"I stepped through the door later than a lot of others. By the time I got there, Caelius and the dragon beast called Red were already engaged in battle. I took shots at the dragon beast, before Bix, Ceres, and three Halloween citizens became severely infected by the Insanity and became abominations. Ceres and Bix fused with their weapons, becoming a horrifying mix of them and their weapon's original species - while the Halloween citizens became weapons wielded by Hunters made from the Insanity." He paused for a breath, brows knitting together.
"Caelius gave the order to execute them. I fired at Bix, not knowing that he was a Hunter at the time. When Hunters stepped in to defend Ceres, I understood, but opened fire on Ryan, unsure of what else to do." He shook his head then, showing regret at that decision.
"Then...Red took on a humanoid form, and was able to wield both Ceres and Bix as weapons. I opened fire on her before Regal was turned into a tablet and Caelius intervened, and was mauled by her. A portal was opened, and we fled due to a lack of defense and offense."
A heavy sigh. "We believe Insanity infections were worsened by being around this 'Red' creature, as she seems the source of the Insanity - or at least able to wield it like its master. Three Hunters were also turned to stone due to the Insanity leaking from her, only later we found that their bodies were unaffected, and their consciences had been transferred to statues that the Insanity had produced."
He relaxed then, completely having exhausted his memory bank. There, it was done. All the details, laid flat.
"I wish I'd had the guts to defend Ceres the way the others did. Poor Bix didn't stand a chance once he landed in Rep's sights, though."

After sitting through the explanation, The huntress was surprised by the sheer amount of trouble that had gone on. No wonder they had come back broken, upset.
"That was then and this is now." She leaned over and brushed his hair from his face. "You shot at the other hunters, and yet in your report, you gave them praise. Your falling wasn't ratting them out." She shook her head. "It was letting your beliefs cloud your work. Never mingle personal with work Lex."
"So let's spin this tale. In lies, there is always truth. You cannot base fiction without first showing the nonfiction."
She turned the paper so she could show Lex the report she had started:Deus Ex Machina Mission Report Form [[ POST-MISSION ORP - No place like home ]] Name: Nevada Burns Division: Mist Status: Trainee Mission ranking: n/a Status of mission: N/A Additional points of extreme importance: Punishment report. Written on behavior of defect's behavior after events.
Lex shows an apitude to recall information on the mission, going into details of all that progressed as well as mental states of himself and his party. When questioned about the other hunters defections after being in the haunted house, Small amounts of remorse were shown but a clear belivable assurance in orders of the higher up (Caelius) had kept Lex from acting out. Even so far as engaging former friends in combat on said orders, regardless of sentiments. When questioned about the actions transpiring the effects of Insanity, he gave a clear and informative briefing concerning the monster that is Red. There was no sentiment nor hesitation about orders concerning the Halloween monster and performed as he should.
Over all, after the questioning had ended, I strongly believe that Lex has stepped down from disillusionments concerning orders and those who ignore them. His debriefing was not only informative but thorough without any holes...nor was there any signs of infection of Insanity/FEAR . Thus, given a second chance, would perform as a excellent hunter to be.

Smiling weakly at the girl as she brushed his hair out his face, Lex gave her other hand a soft squeeze. Yes, he would be okay - lesson learned. Don't put personal feelings in mission reports; keep them business only. He gave her a small smile, nodding. "Yeah..."
Reading the report quickly, he smiled more brightly at the young woman. She was almost painting him as some kind of tragic hero - adorable. "Looks good. I guess I need to fill out mine now, don't I?" He chuckled wearily, pulling out a pen from his pocket and clicking it.Deus Ex Machina Mission Report Form ((No Place like Home / Go Back to Sleep)) Name: Alexei Jamil Division: Life Status: Trainee Mission ranking: External Mission Status of mission: Failure. Though able to collect samples of Insanity and collect information on it, we ended up being sucked into the Haunted House, where the Insanity played tricks on our mind. Ultimately we did not deal with the Insanity in a final way, and had our weapons locked for a short period of time due to Insanity exposure. Additional points of extreme importance: Hunters can become severely infected by Insanity, to the point of becoming Insanity abominations. Further investigation recommended. The creature known as "Red" needs to be dealt with soon; or avoided if Hunters are not properly equipped to deal with her. Commendations or warnings: Commendations go to all Hunters who followed orders to a T. I agree that by signing this, all information above is accurate and can be used for or against me: He handed the sheet to Nevada, corners of his lips twitching. Professional; no feelings attached. "Look good?"

Reading it over, she nodded and handed it back to him. "It looks better, Lack of emotion. Perfect for Caelius." She took his sheet along with hers and moved off the bed. "I'll go turn these in then." She gave him a coy smile over her shoulder, "Should I come back or would you prefer some time alone?"

"Mmmm...feel free to come back if you'd like. I could use some therapy." Lex cooed, smiling genuinely at Nevada. Wow, cuddling with the same person within the span of only two weeks or so - new record right there. He was actually glad to have someone close to him, oddly enough - he told himself it was just the situation. Humans needed company in times of distress and discomfort. It was just a natural thing.
When she was back, Lex was already in his sleep clothes - a plain white v neck and a pair of flannel pants, and the blanket was pulled back. Weariness was spread on his face, though he continued to smile.
"Mm, get in? 'm pretty tired." He requested, yawning a little at the end. Yes, he wanted to spoon and sleep and just not do anything. His emotions had taken their toll, and all he wanted was respite.

Nevada just smiled as she headed out, waving an affrimation that she'd be back and was gone for a little bit. Heading back though was not a problem as she slipped back into his room.
A yawn escaped as she came in, "Bed sounds good." stripping down from her hunter uniform, she slid into the sheets with a tank top and underwear. Arms outstretched, she gestured for him to join her. A gentle smile on.
"Come on handsome, time for some rest." If she could offer him anything at this moment, it would be a moment for one easy night of peace. Attachments, work and sentiments aside. Instead of kisses or anything of the such, she hummed and let her hands fall into his hair. Running through it with a light scalp massage.

Lex easily settled into Nevada's open arms, rumbling deeply in the back of his throat as she began her scalp massage. He closed his eyes, breathing in deeply as she pampered him. Pampering was nice - though he was usually on the giving end. He'd have to keep it that way; receiving too much of it would turn him into a spoiled brat. Couldn't have that, could we?
<< As if you're not already spoiled, whelp. >>
Lex just rumbled again, nuzzling his chin against Nevada's face. Stupid Gryphons trying to bring him down.

Lightly as she could, and without tugging, she worked the massage before letting her hands fall to loop around his neck. The nuzzling earned a full smile from the girl before her eyes slid shut.
"Well with one disaster avoided, I think I'm going to pass out...." Nevada murmured as she fell into a light sleep, breathing softly next to the hunter.
At one point, it might've turned into Nevada being big spoon...
