It was late, late enough that she should probably be getting back to the candidate barracks. After all, random candidates should not be wandering around the weyr at all hours of the night. Yet she couldn't simply remain inside, it was too boring. Sleeping was out of the option, whenever she tried she was interrupted. If anyone asked she would say that everyone in the weyr was just being too loud, she couldn't zone off enough to fall asleep. But that was far from the truth. Whenever she closed her eyes images popped up, horrifying images. Nightmares. She didn't scream, she never screamed over something she saw in her sleep. Instead she would lay there, horribly still, unable to move or wake up. As a result she had decided that sleep simply wasn't worth it.
Dark rings were under Calitra's eyes as she entered the Trine gardens. Yes, she was tired. Incredibly tired as a matter of fact. It wasn't worth it though, no matter how tired she might get. In order to keep herself from falling asleep she had been moving around constantly, getting used to the sights of the weyr. The gardens managed to perk her up almost immediately. There were so many plants, so many smells. Even though there was no one there it was filled with life. The pale moonlight was the only source of light she had at the moment, but that was more than okay with her. When she looked up she saw a dark night sky covered in stars, the moon large and shining. For a while she just stood still, taking her time to appreciate the beauty. Who needed sleep when you had this?
