Echo was starting to get moved into the dorms. He had demanded it from his mother enough times that she finally gave in, albeit with a lot of fussing and guilt tripping. Or attempted guild tripping. That stuff never worked on Echo.
And so he eventually found himself in the common's area of the dormitories, inspecting things. One arm was occupied with a small tablet computer, where he would occasionally jot down notes on the condition of the room, and possible ideas for improving it.
He had just moved onto the sofa and beanbags and was so lost in his renovating plans that he wouldn't have noticed it if the earth started shaking.

Theres the chime of jinglebells as Lenora walks down the hallway from her room, each step causing another jingle as the bells connected to her headband moved. She had decided to be ~festive~ today, seeing as she was wearing some silly holiday sweater and the rest of her wardrobe was color-coded to match. But that doesn't matter, right?
She continues along her way, her attention grabbed by a small book, which she seems to be reading. So absorbed in her little book, she doesn't notice the pink boy with fins sticking out of his head standing in her way, and she promptly bumps into him, dropping her book onto the floor.
"O-Oh dear, I'm so so so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going, I'm so sorry," She rushes her words as she apologizes, leaning down to pick up her book. "A-Are you alright? I d-didn't hurt you, right?"

Echo stumbled a little, flailing about in an attempt to keep his tablet from crashing to the ground. Thankfully he did manage to catch it, and clutched it to his chest. Once he steadied himself he whirled on Lenora, eyes narrowed. "Oh my god, watch where you are going!" He hissed out the response before he even realized who he was talking to.
"Oh my god what are you wearing."
It was a kneejerk reaction. No time to filter himself.
She was dressed in the most hideous fashion and it needed to stop.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm- Wait, whats wrong with my clothes?" Lenora frowns, looking over herself. She thought she was dressed really cutely today! "I like it! I look cute!" She brushes off the imaginary dirt on her skirt, frowning.
"Whats wrong with what Im wearing, huh?" She crosses her arms, pouting. "I dressed up for the holidays and everything, look at my headband! It's really cute!"

Echo blinked a few times... stunned into silence. She actually thought it was cute? She wasn't being painfully ironic? He wasn't sure how to react. He cleared his throat, shaking his head. He tapped at his tablet a few times, bringing up some sort of fashion application.
"Wow, okay, no. That is not cute. That is..." He paused, searching for a word, "eye burning." Yes. That was it. "I get that you want to be all festive and stuff but good god you are doing it so wrong." He clicked his tongue and tapped at the tablet again, then turned it around to show Lenora.
"THIS is how you do fashionable festive that doesn't make everyone who looks at you want to vomit." He rolled his eyes a little. Admittedly the clothes he had on display were pretty cute...

Lenora glanced over the outfit on the screen, and then shrugged. "It's cute, yes, but, not as cute as this outfit!" She nods, looking rather proud of herself. "I think it looks really nice, and like, this headband is really great! I like the bells on it." She shakes her head a bit, the bells making a whole bunch of noise. "See? Really great!"
She shrugs again. "Though, I suppose that everyone has a different taste. I, personally, like to wear this kind of stuff all the time! The headband is just something I thought would go well with my nice sweater."

Echo visibly paled... which was something to see considering how dark his skin was. "You dress like this... all the time?" He was at a loss for words.
"No. That is just unacceptable! I will teach you how to dress, oh my god. No. We can work the headband into a better outfit and oh my god you will need a new wardrobe! You can't just go around looking like some kind of ridiculous rag doll hoodlum!" He waved his hands in the air, but thankfully had a good grip on his tablet.
"SERIOUSLY, I will give you a makeover. A complete makeover."

Lenora can't help but laugh out loud at the kid's reaction. "I dress fine, kid!" She nods. "It's just clothes, anyways, right? Nothing to get too worked up over." She shrugs.
"Anyways, I don't neeeeeeed a makeover! I am perfectly comfortable with how I dress." She nods again. "It's you who seems to have the problem here, kid! Who are you anyways, and why do you have f-f-fins?" She doesn't lean down to look at him, but instead seems to almost back up a bit. Fins, ugh. Worst thing ever.

Echo rolled his eyes in the most dramatic way ever. "MAYBE everyone else is just more quiet than I am and suffers in silence due to your horrific taste in fashion." He tucks his tablet into his messenger back and then places his hands on his hips.
"I'm Echo. Why are you backing up like that? They're just FINS. Ugh. My stupid mother gave me an eel plush or something so I got these great things." He shakes his head a little. "And for the record its NOT just clothes, fashion is like, everything. You get your first impressions from how people look!!"

"PLEASE, I sincerely doubt everyone is in that much pain. Most people in this school don't even dress as well as I do! I'm sure most of them just don't care anymore." Lenora nods again. "And fashion isn't really THAT important, it's just clothes and stuff, I don't usually get involved with it..." She shrugs.
"An eel plush?" She smiles widely, and points to herself. "I got a uh, a goat plush, I think it was!! Look at my cute little ears!" She wiggles her ears a bit, showing off for the finned dude. "And fins aren't as great! Fins means water, and, ugh, fish are gross."

Echo's eyes narrowed. First she insulted his life's passion... and then she insulted what he was. Oh... this was not something he could let go. Definitely not. "You must have been brain damaged or something, you are so not cute, and you are so not as good of a dresser as you claim to be," he paused, taking in another breath, "and your ears are STUPID."
With a huff he spinned on one heel, and started to march towards the boy's side of the dorms.

"You're really rude, y'know?" Lenora calls out as he walks away. After a moment of silence, she stomps slightly and then races up in front of Echo. "Look kid, I know you have got yourself all twisted up over my fashion sense, and if you really want me to go along for your little dress-up games, then sure, I'll go along! For a little bit..." She frowns.
"And, my ears are precious! And so is my tail and all that jazz, too." Lenora adds in after a moment.

Echo stopped, but kept his gaze down on the ground. Everything about his body language said that he was struggling to maintain control over something. It took him awhile to respond, but when he did it was obvious he was deeply upset. "I don't want to help you anymore, go away. This is the boys' side." He shuffled to the side and attempted to get past her.

Augh augh augh, he's upset now and it's the worst thing ever.
"I- I'm sorry, Echo! I really didn't think, I mean, I'm really sorry? Was it because I said fish were gross?" She pauses, a frown on her face. She frowns like that for a moment, before very very very carefully placing a hand on his shoulder and crouching down to get on eye-level with him. (Boy was he short.) "And uh, I really didn't mean it! I'm sure there are really pretty and handsome fish just like you?? I just... D-don't l-like water, or m-most things from it, r-really."

Was she really sincere or was she just spouting whatever she thought he wanted to hear because he was a tiny little kid getting all emotional? Echo stared at her for a moment, before attempting to shove her hand off of his shoulder. He didn't buy it for a second.
"You can't apologize and then go say that you meant what you said!" He hissed, and then attempted to make a run for it down the hallway.
