 PetitionWhat does everyone think about it? I am in a pd guild, however I will probably be quitting soon since there is noting but constant bickering and I don't get a long with the captain that well. I must say this person raises good points in her petition. I'm curious, what does everyone else think? You gonna sign it?

I do feel that these sorts of guilds are wrong. There are many people who
break the rules, but don't even realize they are doing it. I think if peoples
intentions are good, they should be left.
It's like reporting to a teacher about another student lending your eraser
without asking. Pointless and childish.
Obviously we all want a nice safe Gaia, but isn't that what our actual Mods
are for? If other users are the ones constantly reporting to earn gold, then
surely that is somewhat insulting our Mods? Saying that they are not doing
their job correctly?
I dunno, I guess last time I checked, Gaia was a fun hangout, not a
discipline institution.

I agree with you, fully. when I was out reporting people I always ignored minor mistakes. I usually only reported those who were cybering. I think that it's kinda messed up how they get paid tons of gold for tattling on others.

Oh I know they did, people admit it in that guild all the time. part of the reasons why I will probably quit. I have noticed that with most PD guilds there is a ton of silly drama and lack of respect amongst members. Plus there is an abundance of hypocrites.

Huh.... I've never seen one of those guilds in action, but I knew they existed. I always wondered what they did. That sounds wrong. It is the mods and admins duty to do that. If I just happen to see it, I would kindly let the person know that what they were doing is against the ToS and they could get in trouble. Half the time, it wasn't intentional and I would hate to see someone who posted something out of a momentary stupidity get banned. If it persists, I then report it.
Now, I don't mind if people remind people about the ToS if they see something wrong and not going out of their way to find problems. But there is a reason why there is a report function.

I was in a pd guild, there is a lot of corruption that goes on in there. the higher rank you get the more snarky people become because of the status and gold you get. A lot of people are just plain creeps in those guilds.

I don't think there should be police departments here for exactly the reasons that she brought up but also because gaia is supposed to be a place where people can have fun, not limited fun >.< If you see something bad, you report it. It's a simple as that. Anybody can do it so there shouldn't be special people who are doing exactly the same thing.
