Canoake stood in her own personal Weyr, facing outward into the Weyrbowl and grinned. Her long hair fluttered in the wind as her sharp eyes took in the site of a new Benden. Sure it had been bloody and painful. Many whom she had almost considered allies had left for that sandy, treacherous Trine. But that only meant she and her beloved would shine more. Get rid of the cracked and flawed gems; then you would see the true beauties.
Such as Tatath. This Wher Master Keller still held contempt for dragons and she held just as much contempt for him. But it was to their mutual satisfaction that they were supporting each other and Canoake was finally getting the respect that she deserved.
That we deserve. Tatath piped in. The green was curled up in the sun, a gleaming of dark and lighter greens, almost like emeralds on dragon skin. When in a mood, Canoake's green eyes almost seemed to match Tatath's hide but right now, they were cool and content. We made our choices and they were good ones. We are finally being appreciated for being the best.
I enjoy that others finally listen to us. Know how clever we are, the lithe green continued. Staring down at the lake, she hummed pleasantly. I would like to sun at the lake. Come and show off with me.
Pleased with her dragon's mood and trying to do a mental check, Canoake climbed up onto the green's slim neck and held on as they took off. For one brief moment, the wind, the sun, and the sky wiped away all worries and it was just the two of them. Then, they landed as daintily as possible on the lake shores and moved towards the rocks. She was in a split, riding skirt and loose, short sleeved top. A perfect garment for sunning in on top of the rocks, Canoake just only had to pose properly.

Together they enjoyed the sky, mostly empty today. Since the revolution there was just so much space to stretch their wings, so many ledges to choose from when Acriculeth wanted to sun.
<-drop in. Yes, let's go.>
Arciculeth rumbled acknowledgement and swooped down towards the lake, calling a greeting to the green who had just landed and started to settle. the bronze offered lazily as he landed nearby, stretching out his wings and then settling them by his sides as he stooped to allow his rider to dismount.
"Canoake!" A'nos called cheerfully as she jumped to the ground and swept off his goggles, passing them offhandedly to the red firelizard on his shoulder who promptly vanished with them to put them safe. "You look as radiant as your dragon, and at least twice as radiant as the sun," he said with a radiant grin as he strode over.

Tatath had settled just so, tail wrapped up and wings open slightly to enjoy the warmth of the sun. This bronze was very high up on her list but Canoake admonished her often about showing favorites. Still a compliment was a compliment. Thank you Arciculeth. You fly well today. Are you and yours here to enjoy this moment of bliss?
"A'nos. Thank you for your lovely words. It seems that you looking and doing well yourself. A lovely day to simply sit and let the mind wander." Canoake was not going to move from her comfortable spot on the rocks. She had one knee up and an arm hanging loosely towards the ground. "And good day to you, Arciculeth. You must have let A'nos spend long hours rubbing you down to shine so brightly today."
Actually content for once in her life, Canoake let a lazy smile play across her lips. "This is almost like I imagined it. Being happy."

the sleek bronze rumbled, stretching his wings once more before settling down near the green. he observed with a little chuckle; unlike his rider he didn't mind showing his disdain for most creatures in the least. They didn't have their status as a high colour to win friends anymore but A'nos' manner and their ability to ferry people around (though he did rather resent the lowly work) ensured that there were some willing hands to help out, given some notice.
"I speak only the truth!" the Harper grinned. "I'm pleased I look well to you too, I certainly feel it. I feel like I can breathe, don't you?" Opportunity beckoned. There would be work involved, but he was prepared to put it in to get what he wanted.

No small talk to make. No fools to simper with not that my rider would even wish to dally with them. I am pleased with all this change. The bronze was always one of Tatath's favorites and was pleased when he was around. She opened her wings lightly to allow the sun to hit and warm them. No fighting for food. Nor wing space. It is truly a wonderful thing. She turned to look at him. You are doing well with this new way of thinking?
"You speak so prettily, I can only assume every word is the truth," Canoake chuckled and hoped he realized that she teased him. A handsome man, they had not yet danced but used each other for mutual gain. Tatath let her rider know about the bronze's reply. "As if you could look anything but stunning, Arciculeth. You must be like Tatath who complains if so much as a smudge marks her hide."
She sat up, her hair falling over her shoulders and gleaming with hints of red in the sun. For now, she and Tatath had been used as messengers. And when a bit of distraction was needed, a tease. She had no problems dressing up or down to suit the situation. "Breathing is not only what can be done. But today breathing and being lazy is all I wish to do... Tatath has been having to do extra flying exercises along with the other greens. Some great plan I suppose. And you, A'nos? Have you merely come to the lake to breathe? Or perhaps, we can coax our shining beasts for a swim or flight?"
Truth be told, Canoake would have normally just done what she always did when it came to a male she wanted. She would have seduced him or had him seduce her but with A'nos it was different. His mind was as cunning as hers and just as sharp with his dragon to back him up.

the bronze snorted. merit applies now, but I dislike being looked down upon as a ‘lesser’ bondmate as compared to a wher. It is preferable though; I would rather be looked down on somewhat for now and earn my dues than to watch fools with big muscles win positions they do not deserve.>
A’nos chuckled and swept a theatrical little bow. “Truth is beauty, some say!” Straightening up again he stretched luxuriantly, making the most of the space he had spoken of. “I had no real plans I must confess,” a shrug, “Acriculeth and I were out for a fly when we spotted you and decided your company was superior to staying in the air. Perhaps a flight together though, or a swim?” He wouldn’t mind seeing the green rider take a dip in the least!

Tatath rumbled in agreement. How many times did those blasted golds get all the attention. Too many for her. Truth. Both my rider and I prefer to be led by intelligence not pure luck. Though where are not all what they think they are, they do have their uses.
Canoake watched, eyes full of interest even if her face betrayed no real interest. He stretched and muscles flexed in all the right places. She practically purred. A flight or a swim. Both could end in time and energy well spent. "Perhaps a swim, in case we are needed. It is warm enough that our clothes would dry in no time at all. Though I must confess, my hair is nothing but a giant tangle after it gets wet. Is it possible for your flit to go and get a brush?"

Acriculeth hummed his agreement to the green's thoughts. He preferred the idea of being her ally to the idea of being a rival. There were, after all, several seats on the council; perhaps if they worked together they could attain one each, and support one another's interests.
"A swim!" A'nos agreed brightly, apparently either unaware of or choosing to ignore his dragon's scheming. Bending down he unfastened his boots and stepped out of them, quickly casting his belt and purse after them; luckily his britches fit well enough not to fall down. A couple of moments later Symphony appeared gripping a rosewood haribrush with pretty carvings of vines on the back. "My own," he explained as he took it and set it by his boots, "I hop you don't mind? I can send her to your weyr if Tatath will give her coordinates, if you would prefer your own."

"Thank you for sharing your supplies with me. A lovely brush." She didn't even try to hide the look that she gave his body. Definitely a fine looking man. Though she wore a skirt, she did keep some sort of undergarment like shorts on underneath. No need to flash what she didn't want to show. Taking off her sandals and with a sly smile her skirt, she stayed in the top and undergarments. "You don't have to worry but skirts get so heavy when sopping wet."
She slid down, leaving her skirt on the rock so it wouldn't get splashed. "How about it Tatath, do you wish to swim?"
No thank you. The sun is too warm to pass up. Plus, I am speaking with Acriculeth. Enjoy yourself. Tatath spoke privately to her rider. To the bronze, she continued. For now, Canoake and I are happy to sit back and watch. To wait for opportunities to step into and shine. She does well with people but not their stupidity. Something I can agree upon.
