Gentle hoof falls made no sound as the mare trotted forward, occasionally glancing over at the stallion beside her, a respectful distance away. The ring on her tail casually hit the ground with every step, creating a soft, tell-tale thud. She still was unsure of what was going on or how she had gotten where she was, but all they could do was move. If they stayed in one place for too long they would never truly come to understand this new world.
Strange as it was, it seemed that this was how life was to be. New. Shiva did not like it. She had been comfortable before...Or at least she assumed. Everything was still in a haze but she was rather certain that she had been pleased with her life. The whole ordeal left her rather annoyed, more so than usual, and her eyes narrowed at the contemplation of what had become life.
The ice queen snorted and flicked an ear, eyes going from the ground ahead to her traveling companion. A comfortable silence had developed between the two of them as of yet but she was growing weary of it. Silence was an unwelcome guest to a busy mind.
"What do you make of all of this, Ixion?" she questioned softly, her voice husky and full, yet light, like the howl of winter wind, blue eyes moving away again and focusing on the path before them. This felt pointless. Aimless. It felt like a waste of her time. Perhaps that was what irritated her the most.

Had Shiva been making sounds, they would likely have been drowned out by the heavy hoof falls of her companion. Even when he was not speaking, Ixion seemed to always be making a sound. Where he had come from, he had not been known for his stealth. Nor did he ever bother to hide his presence from his enemies. His hooves, heavier than most Stars, were heavy and landed roughly on the ground. This added nicely to his tall and impressive sight. From his large horn to the muscles along his body. Where Shiva was beautiful and exotic, he was massive and hardened. No inch of him didn't look like a warrior, fresh from the battlefield and walking towards another.
In this case, Ixion was fresh from a battle. The adrenaline still pumped through his veins. His eyes, purple all over, scanned the land around him like he expected an ambush any minute. His nose tasted the ear, picking up the scents of nature and other animals. There was no heavy scent of blood in the air. No battle cries or screams. Though he was unsure what exactly was going on, he knew of one thing: The sight, smell, and sounds of the battle he had been torn from. It was branded into his mind, forever replaying as he walked besides his pale companion.
Did she feel it, too? What he was feeling?
Finally, he looked at her, turning his head slowly.
"I do not like it," was his first answer, his voice deep and powerful. Like the thunder that crashes after the lightning. "I feel like something is laughing at us. I smell others, but I do not see them. My body still itches for the fight, but it is so silent. We may be one of many to have this happen, or this may be a trick."

Unwise as it may have been with two great titans in the forest the tiger stallion had finally given his two knights the slip, both Emerys and Gawain were overprotective of the young king and though he knew his responsibilities to those of his herd, he found he needed time to adventure himself not that he didn't like both Gawain's and Emerys's company being a leader was such a great responsibility and he would often try and take the burden on alone only to be reminded he was never alone he had so many who constantly helped and supported him.
What they saw in him he sometimes didn't think he was worthy enough to have such good knights and friends true his mother had raised him to be a leader and carry on her bloodline in a herd of kings. From time to time though he had to be alone to think, would his mother be happy with the herd he'd created? Would his father be proud of how he continued to carry himself, his grandparents would they approve? So many questions, he could never find the answers too... sometimes he felt as though his efforts weren't enough.
His feline ears perked up as he could hear thunder in the sky? or was it the ground, the stallion wasn't sure, whatever it may be it seemed to be getting closer to him, his feline tail swished back and forth, they weren't claps of thunder but hoof beats Achernar realized, what sort of star could produce such intimidating hoof beats? the stallion was impressed and curious at the same time Achernar thought himself quite a fighter in his own right, his father had trained him well and he spared with his own knights everyday no one in his herd was as strong as he was.
Many would run from such an intimidating sound, but the tiger stallion moved toward it fearlessly hearing and opportunity for challenge, perhaps he could convince the stallion to join his herd and his knights, that would be something a starborn like this one he had yet to meet.

"A trick..." the mare echoed softly. Her heart had long since ceased it's pounding. It found its steady, strong rhythm and left her rather relaxed, her irritation fading away as quickly as it had come, emotions as shifting as the breeze.
Once again her eyes moved to her companion, making note of his wandering ones. He was uncomfortable too. Of course he was. A warrior such as Ixion was always on the look out, wasn't he? Shiva almost pitied him and his need for constant alertness. If he would just see that anyone would be a fool to question him, he could...relax as she had.
After all, only a fool would long to face the Diamond Dust and Ixion was certainly no one to be trifled with.
Only a fool.
"If we are being laughed at, it is only by something too cowardly to do so in front of us. The laughter of such a being means nothing to me," she responded in a gentle, yet self-assured tone. It was almost as if she were trying to be comforting. Once she spoke again, her tone shifted into something amused.
"Perhaps the sound of your...approach has scared them all away,"
No sooner had the words left her mouth than a sound caught her ear. The amusement faded instantly from her face, the gentle twinkle in her eyes being replaced with nothing but a cold, empty sheen. If this was the trick Ixion spoke of, it was happening now.
The mare stopped with the faint jingle of her rings and motioned for Ixion to pause as well, ears alert, eyes searching for the source of the sound.
"I assume you heard that," she whispered to her companion. To try and remain silent was a foolish task with a thunderous stallion such as Ixion at your side. "If you do not show yourself this instant, I assure you, the result will not be to your favor."
Her tone was commanding and suggested there was no option but to comply and yet she sounded as if she were talking to a child.

Ixion was unphased by the opinion of himself he knew Shiva harbored. He knew just by his own comment what she was thinking. His movements when not in battle were slow due to the heaviness of his body and hooves, but he was not slow witted. As most seemed to think of him. Large and bulky apparently meant slow of brain. Like he had no time to strengthen his mind while he was strengthening his body. It surprised most to know he did indeed have a brain inside that huge head of his, though it was devoted mostly to paranoid thinking. The world was vast and didn't hold many the seasoned warrior felt he could trust. He had spent too much of his time in wars, always looking over his shoulder for the next move by the enemy. Trying to stay one step ahead of the game.
"Isn't the world full of them?" the silver stallion asked in response, not being able to resist turning towards the sound of a twig snapping that turned out to be just a deer. Above them this was, but it still bothered him. If there was one thing Ixion couldn't stand, it was being laughed at when he didn't understand the joke. Such as being played for a fool or tricked. Like some lord's plaything. If this land even had things such as lords. It looked pretty primitive to him.
Thus it was that Shiva's joke earned a booming laugh from the stallion. He was loud. He couldn't help it. An odd pairing they made, which amused him all the more.
"Ah, that is the disadvantage of being me. Less fun when they run."
Ixion wasn't as quick to hear the sound as his companion was, since he was talking. But he heard it nonetheless, even if it took a while for him to. The way Shiva went alert all of a sudden was the clue to him to be quiet. He added his own voice to hers once she was done. "You heard the lady. If you wish something of us, make yourself known or you make your situation worse."

His previous thoughts forgotten, as he drew nearer the sound of thundering hoof beats, the stallion heard a great booming laugh. Even more curious who the voice belonged to Archernar hastened his approach. It must be a great warrior he was certain for now other he knew from stories told could sound so confident he need not hide his presence and menacing at the same time.
However it was a different voice that greeted him, one that sounded as though it was calling to a child. He was certainly no child, and he would prove it. Though from the sound of her voice she seemed strong, similar yet different to the booming voice that followed her own. Archernar was excited more so than he had been for a long time, he had to meet these two!
"I am no coward Great Lady, nor had I the intention of hiding." the approaching stallion never meant to hide nor had intended to do so. He approached boldly for a stallion of his station a leader of a great herd he was not afraid. Less so upon seeing their forms. They were Great warriors! he was even more certain the herd could certainly use more experienced warriors he was skilled yet he knew he had much to learn in the ways of combat.
"If I may introduce myself My name is Archernar, King of Llyn Dinas," he gave them both a respected yet courteous bow. The lady though was quite beautiful, he expected that to cause many to underestimate the great power he could feel radiating from her as well as the thundering stallion.

Flattery.
Shiva snorted, not bothering to hide her irritation at his self-assured in intrusion. Typical. How like others to assume she wanted their company. How demanding and gratingly normal. She found herself nostalgic for the world she had been in before...But now here she was. Sure, she was large compared to the female of this species...But her powers had vanished. This pained her most of all. All she had left was her physical prowess...
Hmph.
Though he was...curious looking compared to the other star she had seen since her unwilling arrival, Shiva still found him unbearably annoying. King? Some king he was. He looked more a performance horse than a king.
This was a waste of her time and Ixion's. His introduction was hardly worth the privilege of her name.
The ice queen sent a glance at her thundering companion with a look on her face that suggested the keep moving before giving Archernar one final contemptuous glance and walking around him, head raised high.

As the other stallion, much younger than himself by the looks of him, came into view, Ixion's stance relaxed. The decorative feathers on his over-sized horn waved as the great head lowered, deciding he didn't need to put on such a show of confidence and strength for this one. Unlike Shiva, the Acturus had no problems believing this one to be a King. In his experience, King's had a way of showing off their wealth in foolish displays of silks and jewels. Like they wanted the entire world to know that, without a doubt, they earned the right to wear such clothing over the rest of the population. While doing not much more than ordering everyone else around and making them do their dirty work for them.
At least that was how the great stallion seen most of the rulers of the world. The old ones were too lazy and the young ones were too arrogant. This Achernar, as he called himself, was not making the warrior think otherwise. Ixion never was the type to enjoy flattery, both with the spoken word and in showing off. His own jewelry was small, just a necklace and two arm bands. That was all he needed. He didn't need fake adornments to make himself look grander in other's eyes. His very appearance, even naked of all decoration, could inspire such feelings of awe in others.
Seeing and registering the look on Shiva's face, Ixion, though it was difficult to tell, moved his vision away from the young stallion. With no pupils or iris's, the only slight tilt of his head was shown to indicate his moving attention. As he moved by, he bent his head just slightly to address the King. "You might have done best to keep hiding." A shrug of the shoulders accompanied this statement.

Achernar Did realize he was not winning their favor in the least. they didn't seem to care either way. He was a small insect to them both. They must be truly strong, Arch expected as much from seeing them. He never expected it to be easy. Perhaps the regal tack from his mother was too much. Neither the great thundering stallion nor the frigid mare wore much. And he had to prove himself yet, a fight perhaps might be warranted. Things like this took time often, those whom he had around him back in the herd had become his close and trusted friends. A fight would say more than he could with words and give his own more weight.. He he felt it was needed.
He gave the great stallion his attention when he spoke. "If I had, I would not have had the chance to speak with you both which is a great honor, i can sense both of you are very different." Though he could not stop them from leaving perhaps they would hear him out again.
"If I beg your pardon me I have a request, though you have no need to honor such a request." he said coming to stand in front of them both once more. "Before you go, will you do me the honor of of a spar?" he asked them both equally heavily with respect. Though he knew he could not win he still. he would still learn much about them by this course of action.
