((*I seriously suck at titles.*)) Blackbirch made his way through the burrows to see his brother, Oakwood. It had been a while since the two had spent any time with each other. Their duties in the downs had kept them both pretty busy and on separate schedules, it seemed. But Blackbirch had a bit of down time (haha!) after the Raid and figured now would be a better time than never to catch up on time lost, as it were.
He made a few turns in the burrow, knowing the way without much thought and found the small den with his brother inside napping. He grinned and chuckled as he shook his head.
"Wake up, sleepy head!" he prodded at him. "I brought you some flay!" He nudged him again. "And then after, I figured we could go for a bit of a run? What do you say?"((*And first posts...*)) ((*.....Seriously.....*))

Oakwood lay fast asleep... or at least he did. That was until his brother decided to pop in for a visit. One of his ears flickered before one eye shot open. " 'lo there bruthah." he said, his natural deep voice seeming even deeper and raspy due to his not fully awake state. Slowly he slid his paws up under his chest before letting out a yawn and only half sitting up. He had heard his brother had gone on the raid but he had yet to hear much news of it except there was apparently a lot of injuries and one death. He frowned slightly at this. Death was never easy to handle, whether you knew the rabbit personally or not, but it seemed that Blackbirch was quite alright and that eased Oakwood's mind a little. "Seems teh me your not hurt. Bet yeh slacked off didn' ya." he said with a smirk, still somewhat half asleep and only just now registering his brothers request and offering of flay.
Slipping over, he began to nibble on the flay, his ears flicking and his pink eyes shut as he processed the request. "... a bit of a run, eh? Sound' good to me bruthah... but you know I'll whip yeh." he chuckled and motioned a paw for his brother to have some flay as well.

Blackbirch scrunched up his nose at Oakwood then chuckled. "I did no such thing!" he started then whipped a paw up to clean his nose a bit. He lowered his voice as if he were only faintly ashamed of what he was about to say, "I volunteered to keep watch at the doors..." He fidgeted slightly then laughed. "There was a small close call with an elil. A Pfeffa, to be exact. She fell out of the sky on top of Althea, she did!" He pivoted a bit to show of the measly little scratch he now sported. Enough to leave a permanent mark, but not enough to really complain about.
Guessing that his brother had yet to hear much of anything about the raid, Blackbirch settled himself down on his haunches as Oakwood ate. "It got a little crazy out there. All had been going well until the Rowf woke up and alerted the farmer. Those of us in the barn would have been safe had the Pfeffa not shown up and scared the horses. We scared the Pfeffa off though. Freed four Hutchies, but in the efforts to get back home safely, some of us were shot at..." He trailed off at this point then visibly shuddered. "A-Anyway..."
He chuckled a bit then stretched to the best of his ability in the dens. "I know you'll whip me, doesn't stop me from trying though!" he laughed then turned, trudging his way back out of the tunnels.

Oakwood's ears flickered as he shut his eyes and listened to his brother tell what happened on the raid. It matched up with what little he had heard from passing by rabbits. "Ah, your team wasn't the one that killed the pfeffa then... figures. Your about as useful as a kit." he teased, finishing up his meal and hopping after his brother to give him a playful batter with his paws. "Walk faster ye old fool, that scratch aint nothin to make ya this slow." he grinned, following Blackbirch back through the tunnels. But his smile faded as he thought about something else he had heard, his teasing set aside for a more serious subject. "So I heard the black rabbit claimed one from the raid. And old storyteller......" he paused, his gruff voice seeming stuck in his throat a bit. "Thank Frith it wasn't you." he said more softly, though he meant it. He wasn't sure what he would do without his little brother. Life would certainly seem more empty and dull if Blackbirch had been taken.

Blackbirch sighed and rolled his eyes playfully. "No. We didn't, but it's possible we could ha-... Hey!" The comment about being as useful as a kit brought about a swift - but still playful - swat at the ears with his paw. He chuckled and shook his head then, picking up the pace a bit. At least, until his brother mentioned the black rabbit.
He slowed and nodded. "Yeah... Ray..." he sighed then shook his head, blinking a bit to push aside the sadness. In all honesty, Blackbirch had never officially met Ray, but he'd seen him around the Warren often. The silly old rabbit...
"Thank Frith it wasn't you." he heard from behind him. At this point his head was barely peeking out of the burrows, checking the area for safety. He hopped out after confirming the coast was clear and turned, waiting for his brother to follow.
It was here that Blackbirch was glad that Oakwood had decided to stay in the Warren that night. Had his brother seen the things he had done... Frith knows what sort of reprimanding he would have gotten for his actions. Attacking a cat, rushing by the Farmer holding a gun - not once! but - twice, having a thought to stir up the horses but never getting a chance too.
He sighed and smiled gently."Thank Frith..." he started just as sentimentally. But then with a more teasing tone, he added, "You'd be lost without me! Admit it!" he chuckled.
He didn't wait for an answer though. Before his brother had made it completely out of the burrows, he bolted. He knew he wasn't quite as fast as his brother, so the older would catch up swiftly, but the fact of the matter lied in the way he seemed to laugh a bit as he took off. It was almost as if he were teasing in the 'catch me if you can!' manner.
