User Image The chaos at the farm had left Poppy with a jumpy nature, sitting up the dark colored doe looked around from where she was perched at the main hole to the warren. Her pale pink eyes watched the area while her nervous ears twitched involuntarily. This was not what she was used to, she missed her warm hutch and food that was brought to her and her siblings everyday. Shaking her head, Poppy ducked back underground as the crisp air scared the warmth from the sun away.

She had started settling in with everyone else, but the place was soo big that she easily got lost. Today poppy thought she would see what all the fuss was, the reason the wild rabbits had to raid her old home. Sniffing around the burrows the black and white doe wandered the runs and burrows. Her ears ever twitching, she jumped once or twice when she poked her head into the wrong hole and was shouted at by the occupant inside. Backing up quickly from one of the holes she dashed deeper, her eyes wide with wild fear. She didn't like this place, it was too... She didn't know what, but she didn't like it.

When her heart finally slowed like her paws, the soft cries of newborns found Poppy's ears. Now where has she gotten herself to? Sitting up in the middle of the run, she moved slowly towards one of the many warm dens where the cries were coming from. Ears laying back she peered inside, not knowing what she might find. Her nerves on edge for whatever was to come her way.

Sugarcane had insisted Meadowsnip go out and get some fresh air. The other doe had been so tender in caring for her and the kittens; she had been a wonderful assistant. However she really felt the girl needed to eat and get some time with friends, not be stuck here with her the whole day. So she had run the female out ensuring her that she would be fine alone. Which she had been, curled up snug in her warren with her kittens around her. All six of them tucked into her fur in one place or the other, she would lean up to bathe them occasionally but for the most part she just sort of rested there.

She missed getting to talk to people, though she was lucky in that Meadowsnip was around often. Still she hadn’t gotten much chance to see others, and it wasn’t that she was displeased about having kittens. That was not at all the case, she loved her kittens dearly. It was just that she was an extremely sociable person by nature and being cooped up in one warren all day was really starting to give her cabin fever.

She had been resting with her eyes closed when Hawk had first moved. The newborns were getting bigger now, turning into sizable little dears and were starting to move around quite often. She didn’t may it much mind until he opened his mouth and started to whine which woke up the others into a mess of wails. She had sighed and set to cleaning their heads and quieting them all down.

She hadn’t even noticed Poppy in the doorway until she had gotten all the little ones settled back in, expect for Hawk who was now away and wiggling around. He had just started to open his eyes and take a look at the world over the past few days.

“Oh!” Sugarcane gasped slightly looking at Poppy. “Oh come in dear.” She stated softly, this female smelled of outside the down, of soft hay and other animals. She must have been on the farm raid last night. Sugarcane didn’t know all the does and bucks of the warren but she knew many. She had never seen this doe around, so perhaps she was from the farm? A rabbit that had joined them instead of living inside a hutch?

“Do tell me your name? I’m Sugarcane, and that is Hawk.” She pointed to the little boy that was currently looking up at Poppy with slightly watery big eyes. “And these are Rain, Puddle Jumper, Cashew, Mimosa, and Sunflower.” She stated with a bright smile. She pointed to each of the kittens as she said their names, Sugarcane had always been the friendly sort and this doe looked mildly terrified. So it was the least Sugar could do to make her feel welcome.

Poppy scuttled back a couple steps when she was spotted by a doe that was surrounded by little ones. Her pale eyes looked at the small faces that looked ready to stretch their legs and cause trouble. She glanced up and down the run before moving closer to the warren that housed the family. As she passed the opening of the warren she picked up a paw that was going to step on the young kitten that was staring up at her.

"Looks like this one, Hawk was it? Wants to be somewhere besides here." poppy smiled down at the wide, yet watery, eyed young buck. "My girl called me Poppy. So I guess that is what you can say my name is."

Lowering herself down so that her belly touched the ground, she nosed at Hawk, trying to turn his attention back to his family. Looking up she watched the mother, before looking away a little. "This place is so strange, much different from the hutch I shared with my siblings." Her voice was quiet, her ears laid back. "Here its so big and there are just so many, I don't know if I will fit in here."
