Rikki wasn't awake. Of course he wasn't. She banged on his door and hollered his name all the same, but the boil slept like a rock. Luckily, not like Roch. Roch probably drooled or something.
Muttering and fidgeting, she dug through her pockets for the key she possessed. Once the treasure was finally found, she slammed it in the keyhole and threw the door open. She didn't even bother to take the key out.
Once inside she kicked off her boots and ran to the bed, where she inevitably found Rikki passed out. So she just sort of wiggled her way into bed, made a lot of noises, and then pressed her unhappy, grumpy little face two inches from him. "Wake up wake up wake up wake up."

Someone was murdering his door.
If he had it in him to wake up and think, he would absolutely be able to tell who was murdering his door. But for now he was just barely cataloging that his door was being beat up and yelled at, and that eventually it was being stabbed as there was a soft screech of metal. Instead of being concerned, he turned his head towards the sound and waited.
He was sprawled face down in his bed, as was most often the case. The blankets and sheets were pooled around him, not really covering him so much as just... twisting him into a tangle. But luckily, he didn't drool like Roch definitely did. The world was black from behind his closed eyelids, so he only registered the feel of someone shaking his bed as they climbed in and shifted his covers and made a lot of noise.
Of course it was Danny.
"I don't want to wake up."

"Rikkiiiii," she whined, tugging on his shoulders. "It's important! Really really important, and I don't like it and you need to see it."
She began poking at his sides with her little claws.

Rikki cracked one eye open to stare at his ghoulfriends (comically) scrunched and cranky face. "If it's something gross from Roch's room I don't want to see it," he groaned, trying to scooch away and bury his head in the pillows.
"Danny stop," he whined, wiggling as her claws dug into his sides and tickled, startling a gasp out of him.

"No, no its worse. Way worse. So much worse." If it was worse than something from Roch's room, it might as well have been the apocalypse. She shoved him a few more times, tickling his sides all the while. A groan even escaped her mouth. She sometimes hated having a boilfriend who slept past 9- it just wasn't fair!
Eventually though, even Danny gave up with a loud sigh and threw herself into a pillow. "Rikkiiii. I mean it. I'm scared."

"There is nothing worse than mystery substances from Roch's room," Rikki cried, trying to get away from her horrible fingers. His lungs were hurting from the effort not to laugh.
There was a sweet, brief moment of relief, and then a pillow assaulted him. But Danny said the magic words because he was sitting up and scrubbing a hand down his face, trying to actually gain some cognitive function. It was too early for this. He wasn't even dressed. "Why are you scared, screech?"

That was... oddly simple for Danny. Rikki turned his head and at first he didn't really register what he was seeing. First it just looked like static, like on a TV, but he was looking out a window so that wasn't it. It was white.. fluff-
"Snow?" Rikki frowned, certain he wasn't seeing things right. "Why is it snowing?"

"I don't know!" Danny said grumpily. She threw the pillow at him and got up, walking over to the window. She didn't even want to touch the glass, all cold and what not.
She crossed her arms, tail flicking with apprehension. She didn't like this at all. "It's like last year, I don't like it!" Distinct frown on her face. She turned back around to face Rikki with an oddly vulnerable expression. "What if I knock out again? What if we get lost in the snow and I hafta carry Yin?"

Today's theme was apparently Rikki getting pelted in the head with pillows. He couldn't say he was thrilled. He slid out of bed, running his fingers through his hair to try taming some of the wild bed head he had going on. He only spared one more look at the window before he turned to his dresser and began pulling out clothes.
For some reason, he felt oddly compelled to wear his red hoodie today, the one he hadn't worn since he was still a snot. He absolutely was not going to think about why he layered it over the only green shirt he owned. As he pulled on his jeans and belt he made comforting noises at Danny.
"You're not going to knock out again. We should probably protect your tail though, just in case." He hadn't even thought about Yin until now, but he hoped the boil was smart enough to just hole up in his room and not brave the cold.

Danny turned to say something at Rikki, and then realized he was changing and quickly averted her eyes back down at the floor. Watching Rikki change was probably a no-no, right? Other people didn't like her watching them change after all ... ? ... Maybe just a few sneak peaks...
"How? I'm out of enchants 'cause we had a bunch of rain last week," she said. Seeing Rikki in his green and red outfit made her a little jealous. When he was all changed, she slid over to him and wrapped her arms around him. He looked like he needed a hug. Everyone needed a hug, after all. "Can I maybe ... have a sweater like that ..." She looked down and began muttering. "Maybe I should make one ... I could knit one, yeah ..."

Rikki hummed as he thought, letting Danny into his arms easily and stroking her back with long soothing motions. "I don't have another like this," he said apologetically. Rikki's favorite colors - orange, blue, and black - were very obviously displayed through his hoodie collection. Also, he wasn't going to touch the idea of Danny knitting with a ten foot pole. In fact, if he found knitting needles in her room he was going to keep a twenty foot distance at all times. Danny and knitting just seemed dangerous.
"Maybe another lantern?" He suggested. Though he had no idea where they'd find one without trekking through the snow.

Danny pressed her nose into his neck and smiled. "That's okay!" she said, even venturing to kiss his neck lightly. Normally she would have been sad about the lack of Christmas sweater, but she was actually feeling ... somewhat happy. Cheerful even. It was probably because she was with Rikki. Yeah that was it.
From where she was, she could see the window over Rikki's shoulder, billowing with snow outside. A crooked smile came across her face, and she pulled far enough away from Rikki to look at him. "Hey maybe the snow's not so bad! What if it's like ... warm snow! Yeah! It can't be so bad ..."
Now she detached from him completely and flung open his closet, searching for a beat of box of old hoodies. Without even thinking about it, she ripped two holes in it, and threw it on. Then she took a second one. Rikki wouldn't mind of course. He'd be happy about it! Duh!
"We should go!" she said, cheerfully pivoting to show off her sweater swag. "See, I'm all ready!"

Rikki just watched with amusement as Danny flung on an old hoodie, didn't flinch as she ripped holes for her wings. He wasn't sure if there was such a thing as warm snow, but if Danny thought there was reason for optimism, then he would follow her.
"If it's warm snow you might not need a sweater," he chuckled, but herded her towards the door anyways. "C'mon, lets go."

Danny latched her hand in his, keeping close as they walked down the reaper hallway, talking about nothing in general. Just classes, people, bands, general high school gossip.
When they finally got to the door that led outside, Danny had second thoughts. Even her cheery demeanor couldn't diminish the instinctive Oh hell no that crept in the back of her mind.
She stopped mid tracks, right as she was about to open the door. "Maybe ... Maybe we shouldn't go out ..." She looked at her boilfriend with a slight panic in her eyes. Snow was definitely still bad.
