splitty http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v30/midnightspook/Gaia/uteketezonuruadultcert.png 20:08:35 splitty Uteketezo'nuru was busy taking a break from her duties and had gone to visit her mother near the babysitting area. Since her mother's accident a while ago; it seemed her hopes were dead... but she had new hopes. After being around children for so long; she was starting to be happy again. She had spoke to her only daughter of having more cubs. Though Ute knew her mother would probably never love another male again; cubs would make her a happier female. So Ute was in a particularily good mood about that. She had left the grounds and was intent on seeing her father for a bit.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v298/dreamy_baby2/SoA/certs/moragadultcert-f.jpg 20:23:19 me Morag paced through the Firekin lands with her head up, but her gaze elsewhere. There was always so much to think about... with all the information her network was pulling in, she felt flooded with it. And at the same time, she felt like she knew so little. It struck her as strange, once in a while, how voracious her appetite for information had become. But every so often, the Spymaster needed a break from it all... which was why she was headed in this direction. The cubs were a perfect distraction and she always felt like she should spend more time with their little foundlings. After all, it was her fault they were here, and not with their mother. Coming around the front, she blinked as she came upon Ute, pausing to offer her a greeting as the pale female approached. "Good day, Ute. Have you been well?"

splitty Ute lifted her head when she was adressed by Morag; the black lioness who was easily recognizable to all. She smiled and nodded her head to the female. "Hello there Morag. How are you today?" She said, flicking her paws of dust for a moment; slowing to have a word with a friendly lioness. Of all the members of her pride; Ute enjoyed those who were not so... rude. "I was just visiting my mother... she is baby sitting right now..." Course why bother saying that; her mother did nothing but babysit. She usually stayed there at night too. Didn't really bother to go to her den. "And because she is well; so am I. You?"

The scarred female smiled at the return greeting, glad to hear that another was doing fine. Even if it was only said as a formality, with these restless times it was a good thing that the pride as individuals was getting along well. "I'm doing as well as can be expected. The recent discussions went well, if you can call it that with a Nergui ambassador dropping in on us. I'm just on my way to visit Athine's cubs. I like to spend time with them, when I have the free time to spare." She glanced over to the den for a moment, her face softening even under its layer of scars, before she looked back. "I don't have cubs of my own, but I feel somewhat responsible for those two."

Ute nodded quickly. She knew that there was some high stress about the Nergui ambassador coming upont them. She tried to keep out of that stuff; she didn't want to cloud her duties by stressing about something she couldn't help. So she kept to herself and her duties and her family. "I can understand that. I've never had my own cubs either so sometimes I pop in to see them... I think that is why my mother is soo darn happy. She only had me in her first litter... so she gets all the babies she can have." She paused. "In fact she was thinking of having some of her own. And I have even considered it..." She sighed. "Makes me feel old..."

Blue

Morag tilted her head at that thought, wondering to herself. "I don't think you should feel old... especially not if your mother is thinking of giving you siblings. I don't think my life will allow cubs in it just yet, but I don't see a reason why you could not have the joys of motherhood. Children are our future... but I'm sure I don't need to lecture about that. I get carried away sometimes." She chuckled softly, rolling her shoulders. It was hard not to wax philosophical about cubs. She'd never considered herself particularly motherly, but the two little ones had brought out something new in her. "I'm glad your mother is happy in her position though. Each member of the pride has their own role to play."

Ute nodded. "I think she was destined to be a babysitter. She used to like guarding... but she loves babysitting. I just wish it hadn't had to include her hip being ruined so badly from that fall..." She sat in thought for a moment. It had been Rowtag; the lion that Ute was interested in; that had found her in th end. "After everything she has been through... with Rowtag betraying the pride and my father and her dying love... she deserves happiness. I just hope she can... do it." She licked her lips. "With her hurt hip 'n all."

Morag nodded slowly as she listened, reflecting on all the pain the pride had suffered recently. For such a war-like pride, they were unused to death and pain. They had had a long stretch of peace since the rebellion and many, like herself, had never known what it was like to face true conflict. Now injury and death were not so impossible as they had seemed before.

But that was just another reason why she had to take her job seriously and work hard at it. To spare as many of them those fates as she could. The pride might not shy away from hardship, but it was better to spare them from it.

"All of us have our own role to play in life. I'm glad that your mother has found hers, even if she paid a hefty price for it. We all pay for the things that make us truly happy, or that thing that completes us." She said softly, keenly feeling the pull of scars across the right half of her face as she spoke. How lucky she had been that the price hadn't included half of her sight.

"If your mother survived everything she's been through, then I think she has the strength to do whatever she pleases. It takes a lot of inner fire to survive, and I know your mother has it. We all have it, it just depends on how hotly we let it burn."

Ute looked deeply in thought about all of this. Talking about her mother; her only one and real thing that cared most to her than anything else... She was an only child and being that her parents divorced and parted ways; it was her mother she connected with most and not her father. "I really think she has...' She said simply, shrugging her shoulders and casting a glance sideways at nothing in particular.

"She never really let that fire out ever... it's what all her siblings said as she grew up... she was 'one with no fire'... like her name says..." She sighed. "I think sometimes she keeps her fire hidden on purpose; like she dislikes having any hot emotion out... she has always been so kind and soft hearted... somedays it drives me crazy... but I wouldn't want it any other way..."
