Personality: When all is going well, Kaede is bright, jocose, and helpful. If she knows how to do something that you're trying to learn, she will gladly help you! She absolutely loves helping people learn. But, things do not always go well. If she's in a new situation and doesn't know what to do, it really shows. Kaede gets anxious, which cascades into being unsure of what to say and making her appear uncharacteristically shy. Also, if she's feeling sick or tired, her patience is the first thing to go. When she's in a bad mood, she tries to keep her mouth shut lest she say something nasty she'll regret later. But, she is aware enough of these shortcomings to realize when they are coming on and deal with them before they become a problem.
History: Kaede wanted to start a Pokemon adventure when she was 10. And 11. And 12. And every year until now. But her parents didn't want her to leave because they thought she was too young. For five years, she begged her parents to let her have a Pokemon. When she was 15, her Dad brought home an Elektrike "for the family" to appease her. The Elektrike, nicknamed Outlet, only made her want to go on an adventure more. She would take him and go through Route 117, looking at wild Pokemon and watching other trainers battle. She would battle, too, but only until Outlet was tuckered out enough to hold still for a brushing then fall asleep. When she was 17, her family moved to Violet City. She and Outlet would go on trips to the National Park and look at the winning Bug-Catching Contest Pokemon. There, she befriended a local teacher who set her up with a job as a tutor for schoolchildren. Slowly, she saved up her money and trained Outlet in secret, planning to go on an adventure ~some day~. Kaede was 20 when that day came, when Outlet evolved into Manectric. Her parents sort of noticed he was twice the size he was that morning, and a completely different color. Kaede told them she had been saving money for three years, and after a very heartfelt if slightly awkward conversation, they gave her their approval to go. It was very schmaltzy. Kaede decided to go to Zatao, because what's more enticing than the unexplored? But, she's probably bitten off more than she can chew...

Pokemon: Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokemon
Gender: Male
Ability: Pickup
Personality: Kessian looooves attention. If you pet him or feed him, you'll be in his good graces. He enjoys being pampered, but he's no prissy-kitty. He'll give a nasty scratch to anyone who rubs him the wrong way. Literally, don't pet him against the grain.
History: Kessian was the first Pokemon Kaede ever caught herself. Before that, Kessian was a wild Meowth. He misses being able to roam by himself, and sometimes he actually runs off, but he always comes back if Kaede shakes the Poffin tin. He's learned that if he brings things to Kaede, she gives him more treats.
