It felt good to be out this time of year, when the temperature had dropped enough that he wasn't risking working up a sweat every time he went out. The evening breeze was cool—and Remarque was just itching to get back out on the street. The past few days had been spent focusing on his civilian life—dealing with the holidays while his mother was in town, coupled with another round of cleaning shelves at the antique shop and an array of tests he'd had to study for.
It felt good to be back on the street—out doing what he loved
It helped that that there were chaos auras in the nearby area; he'd never admit to being rusty, but it had been a short while since he'd last spoke with anyone affiliated with Order and he was looking forward to conversation with a fellow agent of Chaos. He wasn't sure who he was walking towards, only that he was approaching them at a leisurely pace, intent on making the best of this evening.

Two hours. He had two hours to be out. Two hours while Esme took a nap, before he had to go and check in on her, make sure she hadn’t become lost in sleep with her damn concussion.
Mariposite wasn’t planning on going far, but he was planning on trying to find something. He wanted to find those idiots who hurt his…uh.
Well. His Aurora. That was more than enough to think about.
He paused when he felt someone rather strong, and holding an aura of…chaos. Yes, that was chaos. Maybe it was one of those sickos. One of those assholes. He would have to see. Esme mentioned that they were strong, and had buttwings. Black wings on their butts…so. That was something to look for.
The lieutenant made his way closer to the one holding the aura and narrowed his eyes. It was another blonde guy…and he…
He had buttwings. At once, fury rose up in him and he let out a bitter laugh, before lunging at the figure, aiming a punch right at his jaw with all of his wii boxing trained might. “You ******** sicko. I’m going to make you pay for what you did to her!”

To say that Reamrque had been expecting an attack would have been a damn fine understatement; the blow to his face was not the worst he'd received, but any hit to the face hurt. And this guy didn't seem to be a complete novice, either. The fact that he was a lieutenant gave it a little extra boost, but being an eternal had its advantages.
Dodging friendly fire was apparently not one of them.
He recoiled, though it wasn't long before he was throwing in a blow of his own. He pulled his left arm back in a fist and growled, voice seething with anger, "I don't know—or care—who you think I hurt, but what you've just done was a mistake." And he was going to make sure this guy knew how big of a mistake.
It was with minimal restraint that Remarque attacked Mariposite; he didn't want to kill this guy—or give him permanent brain damage or anything, but one did not simply attack Eternal Sailor Remarque and get away with it.

The punch landed, colliding with Mariposite’s cheek. Well, that would bruise pretty well, he was quite sure about that. He jumped backwards and glared daggers at the Dark Mirror senshi. “I don’t understand where you get off thinking that it’s okay hurting people who are supposed to be on your side! On your team! She is one of you, for god’s sake.”
He was holding tightly to his ribbon baton, wishing that it was something more than just a stupid piece of ribbon. He wanted to strike at this guy, wanted to cause him as much harm as he caused Aurora.
“Thank god she has me to take care of her. It’s not like you assholes will do anything but beat her face in.” He lunged again, wanting to hurt the guy, wanting so badly just to tackle him to the ground and start punching his face in, just like in video games. Revenge was sweet, and he wanted to taste the just how sweet it could be.

Fighting an eternal senshi was probably a little out of the lieutenant's league, and if his words hadn't been so damned interesting, Remarque might have indulged in furthering the battle. For tonight, however, he wanted to get to the bottom of things. He side stepped Mariposite and did the most logical thing he could think of—he sought to restrain him for long enough to get a straight answer.
Strings descended around the male's major joints, gripping him tightly after Remarque called, "Captive Audience!" He knew there wasn't much time before the strings would weaken and this guy could get out, but for now, Remarque had the stage. "You're one to talk, attacking someone who you're supposed to be working with. Stop speaking in circles and answer my damn questions. You have this opportunity and this alone to elaborate. Who are you, who is she, and," most importantly, "What happened?"
Because, either something was very wrong, this lieutenant was very out of line, or somebody had indulged in too many bath salts.

Nicolse was expecting to collide with the Eternal senshi, he was expecting to have something like a full body football tackle…he was not expecting to be…well. Stuck. He let out a bit of a groan, trying to jerk away and resume his full on attack.
The questions started flying not a second later and he sighed. “I’m Lieutenant Mariposite. She is Sailor Aurora, one of your people, I thought. She told me she was a Dark Mirror Senshi. And What happened is she’s hurt, had a concussion, and is staying with me because she’s too scared to go home. Two of your group, both with black buttwings, were attacking her and hurt her really badly. Did you do it?”
Some of his anger was ebbing. This guy didn’t seem like he was lying, besides. He was a guy. Why would a guy pound a lower leveled girl into the dirt…it didn’t make much sense. “I was just trying to teach whoever hurt her a lesson. If you didn’t do it..Well. Eh.”

Remarque's jaw clenched as he considered Mariposite's words. On one hand, there was Aurora, who he had already insisted get herself some training—who apparently had a very bad run in. On the other hand, two eternal Dark Mirror Senshi attacking a basic senshi wasn't looking—or sounding—so good. To his knowledge, there were only a select few that possessed butt wings, none of which he assumed would harm a newbie to the point of concussion.
"No," he said sourly. "I am not responsible for harming Aurora." And whoever was responsible was going to need a damned good excuse when he caught up with them. "I'm Remarque. Vice Captain of the Dark Mirror Court. And any attack on her, so far as I know, was unsanctioned and unapproved. We don't attack our own kind, so I more than suspect there's more to this story than you're leading me to believe. She's with you, now—are you taking care of her? You really shouldn't be out if she's back there with a concussion."
Not that Remarque wasn't grateful that Mariposite was extending hospitality, but Remarque would have much rather been informed about this by Aurora than by some testosterone-filled, rage-induced Negaverser, but at least he knew. Now, he just wanted to know more.

When the attack ended, Mariposite rubbed at his wrists, then watched Remarque for a moment, before holding out a hand. “As I said. I’m Mariposite. Guess it’s okay to meet you. Sorry for punching you.” He sighed glancing away and nodding. “I should be getting back to her soon. Do you want to talk to her about this? I think she’ll tell you more details. At least I hope she will. She’s gotten some sleep now, so she won’t be so loopy…But, they hurt her pretty bad. I went to the hospital with her. We spent Thanksgiving together.”
And it hadn’t gone too badly. Not too badly at all. He paused, then regarded Remarque for another long moment, before changing back into his normal civilian self. Nicolae stood there, in a warm looking coat. He glanced down at his watch and sighed. “Yeah. I have to get back now. Come with me if you want. It’ll be good to have your help in uh. Helping her.”

For the briefest moment, Remarque was taken aback as he stared at Nicolae in front of him. "You?" he asked rather blankly, remembering quite clearly the man who had given him such forceful dinner advice. Of course, just because he and Raven had a splendid evening together didn't mean he was going to forgive this guy for hitting him.
"…I never would have guessed. Yeah, let me see her. I want to hear her side of things, see if we can't get to the bottom of this."
Powering down in public wasn't something Remarque was overly fond of, but he didn't want to attract any more attention to Aurora than necessary, and a power signature as strong as his in a residential area had far too much potential to draw attention. He powered down, brushed himself off, and then looked to Nicolae. "Feel free to lead the way. I'd rather get this taken care of as soon as possible, so I don't have time to waste tonight.

Nicolae stared at Jett, then burst out laughing, the laughter lasted only a moment, but then he rolled his eyes. “Small world. Very small. Come on. Follow me, don’t be mean to her though. She’s s been through a lot.” He began walking back towards his apartment, sighing. “She really has, and I’m worried for her. She’s such a sweet girl…and…I don’t know. This shouldn’t have happened to her.
He fell silent as they got on their way to the house, and he just hoped that this guy could do something about his Esme getting hurt.
