Hobbies: [Parkour] Introduced to him by his best friend Kaida, he took to it rather well, and joins her on her 'runs' when he can. He's been doing it for a couple of years less than her, and he enjoys it. To him, it's a good way to stay in shape, you don't need any fancy clothes or equipment to 'play', and it makes tag a hell of a lot more fun. He broke his left forearm once when he miscalculated a flip, but otherwise, he's not gotten more serious than scrapes and cuts in the course of learning.. The amount of time he does this a week tends to vary, as homework is killer, but it's a good way to get around!
[Anime] Matthis is a big fan of anime, especially anything sci-fi, cyperpunk, or giant robot-related. Two of his favorites are the Ghost in the Shell series and the Gundam franchise. He'll even sit through Kaida's favorite, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, because of the technological take on magic it has. But he'll pretty much avoid anything like Furuba or Cardcaptor Sakura. Waaaaaaaaaaay too saccharine for him! Kaida introduced him to anime around 3rd grade. He's never been so big a fan as to go to a con or cosplay if Kaida's not around (if she is, he'll happily run around as Duo Maxwell, as he takes little effort to cosplay for Matt), and he has gotten teased over it when he starts sketching out giant robot schematics or talking GitS or Gundam with Kaida...but for the most part, despite his love of the animation style, he's managed to avoid the good chunk of the teasing a lot of fans tended to get. The actual watching of anime is pretty much an everyday thing: his TV shows of choice tend to be anime, or anime style, and if there's nothing on TV, there's always the internet or DVDs.
[Tinkering] Matt loves taking things apart and seeing how they work or making them better. His room is cluttered with parts, pieces, and half-reconstructed electronics and mechanical items and school projects. About the only things safe from his tinkering are his cell phone and alarm clock. Even his computer gets tinkered with and upgraded once every few months. His favorite things to tinker with are his computer and those 'do-it-yourself' robots. He's hurt himself a few times in the process of learning, but he's never let that stop him. He just learns what not to do, and continues on his merry way. He got into the hobby himself, simply because he finds it fun, and he miiiiight want to make a giant robot someday. A couple of his professors that find out about that just sigh and roll their eyes nowadays.
[Video Games] Matt loves video games; RPGs, shooters, fighting games, strategy games; lay 'em on him! He tends to play at least a couple of times a week with his roommates (unless he's swamped with homework), with an attempt to do a full video game marathon every few months, and he's fond of more sci-fi and technology centered games, though it's not his exclusive genre-love. He loves things like Call of Duty, Halo, Street Fighter, Metroid, Xenosaga, and the Final Fantasy games. Dynasty Warriors is also nice when he feels like just causing mass damage. It's a hobby he was introduced to in early elementary school by his brother Aldric, and it's a hobby they still share. And it's how he met his best guyfriend Hiroyuki. He's even been dragged into Final Fantasy XIV by Kaida.
Virtues: Trustworthy - Matt is the guy you can call at 3am, drunk as a skunk, and he'll come get you if you're a friend. He tries his damnedest to not lie, tries to be reliable, and is loyal to those he calls 'friend'.
Clever - This is a guy who doesn't let himself be confined by the Box. He's quick-thinking, thinks of creative solutions, and pays attention to the details. The impossible only remains as such until someone actually does it!
Compassionate - Matt isn't the sort to kick a person while they're down. He's got an open ear, and a shoulder to cry on [for his friends!], and if he's not in the best place? He'll still try and point a soul in the right direction for some sympathy.
Flaws: Private - While he'll let others lean on him, he's not really one to lean on others, aside from a small, select few. He keeps his plans close, his heart beneath his skin where it belongs, and more than a few opinions to himself. He isn't going to share his life story with you.
Cynical - Matt knows the world sucks. He knows it's violent and messy and strange. It's why he's so willing to let others lean on him; because he is expecting the rest of the world to try and kick a person. He expects people to use his hopes and dreams against him, expects his projects to be yoinked if he isn't careful. He expects the worst in people, save a small few.
Flight, Not Fight - Matt hates confrontation. Sure, he'll pick your drunk a** up at 3am...but it there's a fight brewing, he's going to grab your a** and run the ******** away with it. This also tends to apply to arguments and is the reason he never did well in debate; if things get too heated, he'll just kind of shrug, sigh, and smile and nod.

Hair: Matt has chestnut brown hair that he keeps to his mid-back, usually braided or in a ponytail. He would try to grow it longer, but the 'gay' and 'girly boy' comments kinda make him twitch since hair is no indication of either. [And he's bi, tyvm.] His bangs tend to hang just above or slightly in his eyes, depending on when the last time he got them trimmed was.
Face: He's got a babyface, and it drives him nuts. Heart-shaped, still a little soft-featured, and made for smiling.
Clothes: Matt's style tends to lean towards 'punk' and 'slightly gothic'. He tends towards jeans and graphic tees, tank tops, cargo pants, pants like those you see coming from Tripp, hoodies, and the occasional dress blouse. He prefers black and other dark colors, but he'll throw the occasional brighter item in there to throw everyone off. He's also been known to don a Utilikilt now and again. He tends to wear little in the way of jewelry, mostly related to computers or anime/manga/video games somehow, and he has no piercings. He does, however, wear a small gold cross on a black cord under his shirt: the one thing he has from his birth mother.
