Overview: A merchant has lost a box of bows on the way to the village. She assumes that they are somewhere near the entrance of the village but, she isn't quite sure. She noticed that she didn't have them about twenty minutes after she had gotten into the village. She wants someone to go and find the bows for her so that she doesn't have to go get them and so that she can continue on with her daily activities. She says that she will be in town for a couple days and she'll be fine as long as she has the bows in her hands as soon as possible. She is offering a bow to the people that find it and a small amount of ryo for services rendered. Rank: D Rewards: Bow and 100 gold. (To be split in half.) Participants: Kotaro Yagyu and Hoshi Minobi
The mission starts with Hoshi minobi standing at the gate waiting for the academy student that was going to help her with the mission. She was excited for the mission but, she couldn't believe that she was going to be stuck with some kid for this mission. It was going to be an easy enough mission. Hoshi smiled to herself and she knew that she would be able to do this mission pretty easily but, the kid might hold her back. Who knows? She looked at the paper in her hands that had her name written on it and the kid, Kotaro. She didn't really care for the name but, she had heard worse. She looked around and continued to wait for the kid. She knew that the kid better not be late because she really hated to wait for an extreme amount of time. She figured that she'd give the kid ten minutes before she would leave and go do the mission by herself and claim the rewards. Hoshi smiled again to herself. Be patient Hoshi. He's just a academy student. You were one at one point too. Hoshi thought to herself and she smiled a bit wider as she waited.

Kotaru Yagyu LV. 1 Experience: 25/100 Hp: 8 Cp: 9 MHp: 11
Kotaru arrived precisely on time, not a moment late, nor a moment early. His face gave away no emotion, even as he approached the girl, whom he assumed, was his partner for this mission. "Are we going to go or are you just going to stand there, looking awkward all day?" He said in a toneless voice as he passed by her, walking out the front gates of the village. As he exited the gates he there was a twinge of excitement deep inside of him. This was the first time he'd been out of the village, for a former street urchin, this was something special. He quickly killed the emotion, if he was going to find a way to survive for some time he needed to be able to think clearly. No matter that he wasn't some urchin, who needed to steal food to survive, anymore. Thoguh his needs were met for now, he didn't know about the future.

She heard him say something about being awkward and she felt somewhat insulted. She was younger then him but, she knew that she was stronger. She could kill this boy and probably no one would know. She sighed and decided not to say anything, she didn't know what this boy had been through and she didn't want to do something that would get the ryo she needed revoked. She put on a false smile and followed after him. Allowing him to believe that he was the leader of the mission because, after all he was taller and older. She giggled to herself and continued to follow out of the village gate. She hadn't been out of the village since she had got here and she was kinda excited even though she didn't really let it show. Hoshi smiled wider and remained silent. She wasn't all that good at small talk, just something she never really did. Especially with Dyluno, he hated it. Hoshi laughed a bit out loud and continued to follow, just like she was going to do probably through out the whole mission. (Two travel post.)

"They're supposed to be somewhere outside of the village right?" Kotaru said, focused entirely on the mission. He'd only take up this mission, was because it promised him a bow. Once he got that he planned to hide himself away in the training area, and train until he had mastered the weapon. It may not have been quite what the Otobe wanted him to do, and in fact as part of thier agreement he was supposed to attend the Academy. Some indeoendent spirits were hard to crush, and the way he saw it, as long as they got the ninja they desired, they shouldn't complain about how he came about.

LV. 8 Experience: 190/450 Hp: [10+2]*8=96 Cp: [10+3]*8=104 MHp: [10+3]*8=104 Dodge Bonus: +12 Yes they are supposed to be somewhere on this path. From what I can tell, they aren't supposed to be very far. Hoshi yawned and continued to follow the boy. She didn't really even bother in learning his name, it wasn't all that important to her. She would be a high ranking ninja soon enough and she really had no time for academy students like him. Hoshi smiled and she knew that this mission would get her on the radar of the Otobe. Well, it didn't even have to be the Otobe, it could be whoever was supposed to be the kage. Hoshi smiled a bit wider. She knew that her bow skill with her genjutsu would produce a deadly combination and would help her be an anbu or secret police. Maybe even a special ninja or a hunter-nin. The possibilities were endless but, of course she might not be limited to just this village. Dyluno could pull her out at anytime and bring her to another village to do more work. Would that mean she had to start at the end of the totem pole again? She wasn't sure nor did she really care. All she really cared about right now was finishing this mission and going to her non-existent home and training on the training grounds. Hoshi's home seemed like the training grounds for right now and she could accept that.

Kotaru nodded that he understood what she was saying that meant he had to keep his eyes open. Any second now they probaly would come across the box of bows, that or something that would lead them to the box. The silence of thier walk was both mildly maddening, and welcome. It was maddening because he was unused to the silence of nature, something was always going on in the village. On the other hand, the girl had done nothing to endear herself to him, not that he'd taken any measures to endear himself to her. Nor did he intend to at this point in time. She held an air of superiority around herself that he didn't like. Earned though her air may be, he grew up as the lowest of the low, and didn't care for it.

It wasn't nearly as fun as she would like it to be but, of course she was with a academy student. The mission couldn't be too dangerous with a academy student on board and Hoshi understood this. Don't want to many of them to die or the city won't function correctly. Hoshi smiled and thought about the mission. All they had to do was find the box of bows and bring it back. She hoped it wouldn't be too heavy or the mission would get that much harder. If it was heavy she was sure that the boy could probably handle it. She knew that she wasn't all that strong herself but, she knew that boys usually are stronger. She shrugged softly to herself, not all boys are but, then again she hadn't really been able to watch this boy in action. He might be extremely strong or extremely weak. She didn't really care though. Hoshi looked down at the floor as she was walking and laughed softly. This mission would be a good test for him and her and she knew that. The boy might be great or not. Hoshi looked down at her list and wrote down the time that they had been walking so far. (Traveling posts over. Make any checks necessary at this point.)

Kotaru continued to keep his eyes peeled as they moved, looking for anything that could signal the location of a lost box. "So why did you decide to do this mission?" Kotaru said, giving a mental sigh. Though he found the silence relaxing, feeling like a stranger was tailing him was even worse. Besides he may get a mission to kill this girl someday, should she decide to defect, or whatever reason the Otobe may give him for her demise. That was all in the future however, in the meantime he could do with some mild noise, no matter if he actually paid attention or not.

I didn't pick this mission. I have been waiting for a mission since I got here and they put me on this one to make sure you didn't die or anything. Hoshi smiled about her answer. It was sufficient enough. Hoshi giggled a bit and looked farther down the path. She noticed the box that they were supposed to go get but, she didn't go running down the path. She wanted the boy to complete his mission like he was supposed. As they got closer though, she noticed some small bear prints in the ground. Hoshi smiled and stayed behind the boy. He'd notice these things soon enough. Hoshi even laughed a little. The bear tracks were somewhat odd but, she had seen weirder things in her lifetime then a few bear tracks. Must have been hunting or following it's mother. Perhaps it's a little lost. Hoshi laughed softly and looked down at the tracks a little more. From what she could tell, there was really nothing peculiar about them. Hoshi shrugged and waited for the boy to take command like he is supposed to. (Awareness roll: D20 + 3)

Reaction:
Kotaru: You notice almost nothing but, a box at the a little farther down the road.
Hoshi: She notices the box as well as some footsteps of a small bear near it.

As they continued to search Kotaru saw it, the box of bows, at least that's what he assumed it was. Wasting no time he half ran, half jogged over to the box, looking for some way to be sure that the box was the correct one. "I think this is it." He reported as he continued to look over the thing. "Yup here it is." He said as he found a marker on the box which identified who the box belonged to. "Come on let's get this out of here..."

Hoshi looked at the box and back at the boy then back the box. You should probably count the bows in the box to see if there is 10. If we get back to the village and we don't have all of the bows, that'd be pretty embarrassing. Don't you think? Hoshi smiled and opened the box and she slowly counted the bows inside the box. There are only nine here. Hoshi looked at the trail of bear tracks. Please don't have a bear with a bow at the end of this trail. Hoshi sighed and looked back at the boy. Well, there's some bear tracks. A bear could have gotten one of the bows and dragged it for a chew toy or something. Hoshi smiled and liked her idea but, it was up to the boy whether or not they went down the track.

"We said we'd retrieve all of the bows, so let's go get it." He said as he looked at the tracks. "I don't know about you, but I'm not just going to follow tracks blindly..." He said as he moved to a spot so as to be able to see and follow the tracks, but do so stealthily. Carefully he began to move forward, being as light footed, and quiet as he could. After moving for a bit he looked behind him to see if she was following him. If she wanted to follow bear tracks till she found the bear, then that was her choice.

This was his mission not her's she was just to follow orders and she really didn't mind following orders. Hoshi smiled a bit wider and stealthily followed the boy as best as she could. Hoshi remembered the days that she would do this daily to even get the tiniest amount of bread to eat. Stealing was something she had to do as a kid and she didn't mind it. Hoshi shuddered a bit as she remembered one of the days that she was caught and the shop keep wanted her thrown out of the village. At least the Kage didn't think that she should leave because she had no where to go and no family. Hoshi sighed softly and continued to follow the boy. Remembering everything. Stealth roll: 3+11
