Ami had a problem. A serious problem. A very serious, serious problem that only one person could assist with.

It wasn't Marcus, it wasn't some trusted friend that had deep wisdom. For whatever reason, it was Madeline.

She knocked quietly on the door. "Madeline? You there?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 19, 2012 11:01 pm

Unfortunately for Ami, Madeline was in the middle of a very important daily ritual.

Yoga.

One might wonder if Madeline actually possessed the ability to get into the zen mode that was required for the delicate art of bending into extremely difficult positions, but alas. After years and years and years of yoga lessons, trashed mats, and extreme flexibility, Madeline had perfected her art.

Sort of.

"Doors open!" She called from inside, and when Ami opened the door, she would find this awaiting her.

"'Sup, Ami?"

Run away. Run away, Ami. Before its too late.

Ami pushed open the door to find Madeline doing some sort of ******** that she didn't want a single part of. Fortunately for Madeline, Ami was used to Madeline's brand of weird, and was growing quite used to walking in on the girl buried under comic books or clipping her nails or something gross like that.

"Ah ... stop that," she said abruptly. Hands folded neatly in front of her, she asked, "I was wondering if you'd like to go get coffee with me? I have some ... things I want to talk about."
PostPosted: Mon Nov 19, 2012 11:13 pm

"It's called yoga. I was doing it because - well, - I couldn't exactly play any online game anymore. And yoga is the second best thing." Madeline chirruped happily, waving her hand vaguely into the shape of a computer and then emphasizing a quick and quiet explosion. "Did you know - " But it was cut off by a pop as Madeline magically unfolded out of her position and bounced up onto the balls of her feet.

"Coffee sounds lovely!" She tossed her hair up into a tight bun on the top of her head and beamed at Ami. "Just let me change really quick." Which she proceeded to do with such efficiency it left one wondering how often she switched out her clothes. Adorned in a dress decidedly not fitting of the season, she linked arms with Ami quickly and grinned.

"What are we going to be talking about? Fun things?" She lowered her voice into a deceptively teasing whisper. "Devious things?"

Devious things were the best after all.

Oh yes.

And that was Madeline's true area of expertise. Aw yeah.

Ami was actually incredibly impressed with how quickly Madeline put herself together. Then again, her appearance was far less meticulous and prepared than Ami. Her appearance took nearly an hour to put together, all things considered.

She scowled at the arm woven around her own, but if she protested it, she didn't say anything or move Madeline's arm. "Just ... thinngs," she said a bit vaguely. "Less deviant, and more troublesome."

They moved out the door and down the hallway to the cafeteria. "I think I may have done something ... rude. A rude action that I would like to take back, but don't know how." Her face was in the utmost concentration, remembering this so-called rude action.

Positively beaming by the time they made it to wherever they were going, Madeline flicked one hand across her dress, toying with the edge of the dress. Her appearance was, in fact, about as far from meticulously put together as it could get. After all, in comparison to Princess Ami, Madeline was a pirate wench.

"Troublesome?" Madeline echoed curiously. "Maybe you should meditate over a yoga session on it. Helps more than you'd think." She winked at her. "And I can bend you into some fun positions if you want."

Madeline. Madeline, quit while you're ahead.

"Was it deserved or undeserved?" Madeline asked as the smell of the cafeteria wafted up to greet her. She grinned at Ami. "Have you considered starting with an apology?" She asked curiously. "Or are you more interested in a moonlight-serenade, sorry I punched you in the balls or something equally horrendous escapade?"

The cafeteria smell far from lovely, in Ami's opinion. When you got a bunch of smelly hunters returning home from their missions in one room, it couldn't smell worse. At least the coffee section smelled nice. It wasn't tea, but it was good enough.

They ordered, and Ami pulled out two chairs at a two-person table where they could talk privately. "It's a bit more ... complicated than that. I don't think it was deserved, but at the same time ... it was?" She bit her lip in frustration. Feelings were hard. "I slapped him after all ..."

Her tiny hands wrapped around her mug. "He was ... pushing me, and I don't think I reacted well ..."

Madeline, used to the luxury of five-star hotels and awesome restaurants, had grown used to the scent of the cafeteria much like she'd gotten used to the scent of back-alley vomit next to the road-side bars where she hung out during holidays instead of back home.

Picking up her coffee, Madeline slumped in a dreadfully un-lady like manner into her seat, sipping at her own cup as Ami listed her grievances out loud. Oh. "You slapped him? What did he do exactly?" She settled her cup down and placed her elbows on the table, keeping her voice low enough to keep the words between them private. "Well, if he was pushing you into - um - something devious," She frowned, growing a mutinous air for a second before waving it away, "than good for you?"

She leaned back, pushing her cup to her lips again. "But maybe I should hear the whole story first before giving you any sort of advice. Or we can go do yoga." She beamed. "I'll tell you all about the time I slapped a man for pushing me too far."

She didn't exactly mention that it was with a remote controller. Over a game. In a basement.

Yep.

"No!" Ami said quickly, waving her hands. "No! Nothing like that." She blushed quickly. "Though he is dangerous." She didn't trust Lex as far as she could throw him. She saw the way girls looked at him. The way they swooned over the simplest of compliments.

She sighed, taking a sip of coffee. It was going to sound stupid the way she said it. "You know my ... sleeping habits aren't as sound as they used to be. He made me go to sleep, but then he insulted Mr. Darcy and- and I don't know, it just happened." She looked down at her coffee, completely embarrassed over the entire situation. "I feel awful," she added, just in case it wasn't clear.

She looked up at Madeline somewhat seriously. "Sit up."

"Well, if you ever need me to beat someone up with a baseball bat..." Madeline said brightly, twirling an auburn curl around her finger. She trailed off, not needing to imply anymore, even though a Did You Know was definitely on the tip of her tongue. She was learning to be tasteful about it though. Very tasteful. Tasteful in the way where when she threw them out, she would delight in watching Ami's head explode.

She was the best little sister ever.

"Wait - you slapped a man over Mr. Darcy?" Madeline asked, wiggling forward in her chair to stare at Ami with a newfound appreciation. "********." She patted Ami's head at the 'awful' part though before slumping back down. "Have you talked to him at all since then? Or has the ghost of your hand on his face the only thing you've left him brokenhearted with?" She waggled her eyebrows in amusement with a slippery little grin. "Maybe you guys should just talk it out though? I mean, you could always get physical but I doubt that would really work in this situation."

The sit up comment was regarded with a pout. "I look sexier this way."

Not really, but she might have just said it to get a rise out of Ami. It was kind of cute to see her trying to fix up her bad habits after all. Kind of.

Ami simply rolled her eyes at Madeline's brutish ways. No one needed to be beat up with a baseball bat, thank you very much. Nevermind the fact that Madeline completely overlooked that she had a giant magical club and Ami had a set of magical guns. Stupid girl.

"Madeline!" she scolded. "You shouldn't applaud someone's wrongdoing." Even if Ami was the one who had committed the crime, it wasn't something to wave in front of everybody.

She looked down at her hands and took a sip of coffee, looking somewhat bashful about the whole ordeal. "Err ... no I haven't talked to him. I figured he wouldn't want to. He probably just thinks I'm a sour excuse for a person that just goes slapping people irrationally at the slightest offense to her fictional favorites." Nevermind that she was.

To Madeline's insubordination, she rolled her eyes and gestured to a table behind them, filled with big brutish men that were slobbering all over their food and being noisy and rude in general. "Oh yes, because you have so many people to impress with your 'sexy' slouch. Look, I think I hear one now. Madeline! Madeline! Let me stink up your room and drool a river on you while we embrace.." She gave her friend a mischievous smirk. "Yes, what fine catches you have made with your fishing pole. I confess my sins of jealousy."

All of the sass.

"But life wouldn't be any fun without wrongdoings of a - " She waggled her brows seductively, "fun nature, right?" Madeline beamed at Ami and stretched her arms above her head, shoulders rolling back with a yawn. The coffee helped a little bit, but she'd been interrupted in the middle of her yoga session, leaving her sluggish.

"I'm sure he wants to talk to you. Or do something other than avoid him." She dropped Ami a glittery wink - yes, she did have one some sparkly makeup, thank you very much. "Grudges don't last long in the minds of men. And you're not a sour excuse!" She balled her hands into fists. "Anyone who says that will have to make an appointment with the wrong end of a wall. Or my fists. Or both."

"Sexy slouching is primarily for my own comfort and entertainment." To prove this, Madeline kicked up her feet onto the table. "Anyways, you really think I'd let them drool a river on me, or even get in my door?" She smiled at Ami. "Please. I dress how I want, when I want, but I've got standards, and anyone that tries to breach my security without permission won't be looking too pretty in the hospital wing."

She turned her head to the slobbering men and yelled something decidedly rude in Spanish that sent their heads turning towards her before she gave them a carnivorous grin and obscene hand gesture before turning her head back to Ami. "See, now they probably won't come within ten feet of me for fear I'm a crazy lady." She let her feet slide off the table and assumed the position and mannerisms of a preacher, her expression dissolving quickly into one of mock patience and serene grace.

"Now, child, come and we shall wipe clean your sins so that you may enter the gates of Heaven." Her mouth split into a haughty grin. "Or in this case, your boy's bedroom door."

Ami just rolled her eyes at her friend's little show of "bravado" and then sunk into her chair at Madeline's feet on the table. Madeline was just absolutely insufferable- it was so impolite and audacious to put one's feet on the table! She whispered hushed, Madeline!s, but it was no use. Madeline was going to Madeline.

She jerked as Madeline started shouting in Spanish, spilling some of her coffee on the table in the process. Now Madeline got a scowl over spilled coffee. This entire thing was starting to become a miserable, embarrassing outing- and here she'd thought Madeline would actually behave like an adult.

With a sigh, she almost got up to leave, but stayed because she was too busy being flabberghasted at Madeline's little "idea."

"Wh-what? No, we can't just go to his room- it's not ... we can't- ... Madeline!" she whined, pink color threatening her cheeks.

Mads laughed at Ami's response, getting out of her seat and patting her friend on the back. "Yes, yes we very much can." She grinned, pulling Ami in the direction of the entrance. "Ami, I will give you a dose of confidence and then you'll bulldoze your way into his heart so hard that he'll have no choice but to take you back."

She might or might not have been like the kraken attaching itself to a sinking ship.

"Now, direct me towards his room while I walk you through the way to his heart, or I will personally find him on my own, leaving a trail of fiery destruction in my wake akin to the likes of which you have never seen."

Honestly, she could probably scent Lex out based on his cologne, but she didn't say that just yet.

"Madeline!" Ami screeched beneath the kraken. She pushed the girl off, taking a step back. "We are not going to Lex's room and you are not seeking him out!"

She gave a gruff little moan of frustration, looking very much like a bird with its feathers ruffled. She might have even stomped her foot a little. "Just ... leave it alone! I don't want you meddling it could ... I don't know it could mess the situation up."

Ami blinked, realizing that Madeline was implying she even wanted in Lex's heart. "And- And I don't even like Lex! That has nothing to do with this!"
