Kayleena was elated. She had been unable to keep her condition from Daimhim a secret for as long for she had hoped. The usdia mare had wanted to keep her pregnancy off of the stallion's radar altogether. Now her gaze shifted to the three baskets that housed her children. She was worried about what would become of them when they were old enough to leave the baskets. What would Daimhin do? Would the stallion try to keep her children like he kept her?
The questions around the pregnancy also whirled through her mind. That one night she had spent with Tiger didn't seem to have been long enough to cement a relationship. She shrugged that thought before eying the trio of baskets again. Nashota would be popping in soon and the mare couldn't wait to show her familiar the youngsters.
She was sure that the baskets would pop any day.

Daimhin had mixed feelings about Kayleena having baskets, to say the least. He had no idea who the father was, for one thing. It was a huge breach in security that an usdia stallion had gotten into Mahapadma territory without them noticing, and it was no better if Kayleena had managed to sneak her way out instead. The baskets themselves proved an even bigger security risk. Daimhin had chased Carmilla away from them half a dozen times at least. Whatever she wanted to do with the unborn usdia, it wasn't good.
That moment, he was heading on over to check on Kayleena and the baskets. He remembered how long his children had taken to emerge and it seemed like it ought to be any day now for hers. Once they emerged he would have more decisions to make. What was he going to do about the children? Still uncertain, he came into view of Kayleena and the three.
"Still in their baskets, I see," he said as way of greeting.

Kayleena startled at Daimhin's sudden appearance. She cast an uneasy glance towards the stallion before turning her gaze back to the baskets. Her voice was uncertain as she gave her reply, "Yes. It seems that way." It should have been obvious that the usdia mare was beginning to experience the jitters of becoming a new mother. What had caused her condition in the first place? Was it that brief time that she had spent with Tiger Nilla that had brought this on?
Kayleena stepped away from the protective stance she held over her baskets before slowly approaching Daimhin. "You aren't worried are you Daimhin? You won't try anything will you?"
If anything Kayleena was seeking reassurance from the stallion. Her gaze shifted to her baskets and back to Daimhin again.

Daimhin had to admit, he felt more than a little protective over his... captive? It didn't seem quite the right word to call her anymore. He wanted to keep her children nearby, but it wasn't quite nefarious delight that he felt when he thought of that. He internally chastised himself at the thought of getting so soft.
"I won't take them away from you, if that's what you're asking." He looked over his shoulder back in the direction of the main Mahapadma meeting area. "And I certainly won't let them take them either." He scowled at the thought of it. Bushkin could crush an usdia basket flat with one stomp of her huge hooves.
"But there's nothing to be worried about." It was a bit of a gallant lie. He still worried that any member of their dysfunctional herd might try to destroy the baskets.

Kayleena felt the unease that had settled throughout her mind lift a little at Daimhin's words. To hear that he'd attempt to keep her baskets safe and not go after them himself eased her fears of such possible events. Her gaze settled on her children, invisible to her eye as they lay nestled in the protective wicker material.
"I'm glad to know that you will try to keep them safe."
Kayleena felt the tension rise in her body though as she caught one of the baskets wobbling ever so slightly. They'd not been very active, stashed as they were away from prying eyes but this movement seemed different ... almost violent in nature. Was this a precursor to the foals emerging? Kayleena's gaze locked on the wobbling basket. "Daimhin? Is this it? Are they coming out?"

Daimhin's worry evaporated in an instant. He bounded over to Kayleena's side and stared down at the basket with calculating excitement. "I think they're ready!" He remembered this moment well from when his own baskets had unleashed their contents. It was a similar feeling of galloping anticipation that filled him now, too.
Daimhin looked down at the baskets with Kayleena. If they hadn't been such different sizes, he might almost have looked like the father of the baskets. He had a mate that he cared for and children of his own, but these ones were special to him just the same.

It was getting far too tight. The area she resided in was closing in on her, and it was merely driving her nuts. She wiggled slightly in the basket, kicking at the soft wicker with her back hoof. Her eyes fluttered open, staring toward the darkness that was her cage. Whimpering a bit, the small mare shifted and pressed against the wicker. She had to get free. It was too confining; too dark. She couldn't breath in here. It was too tight, too dark, too... everything. She just wanted to get free, wanted to be able to move with no limitation. Letting out a small noise that sounded almost like a squeak, she pressed at the confines again. She saw some light shine through, and it caused her will to get out to pulse. She was going to escape.
And she was going to do it right this second.
Frowning in frustration, the filly kicked and bucked, her body wiggling roughly. The wicker basket wobbled, shaking lightly. It only took a moment, before it flopped onto it's side, and the lid slid smoothly off the top. The action caused the filly to go tumbling out. She shook her head, staring toward the world around her. She flinched, and closed her eyes, the world too bright to that around her. She shook her head, frowning a bit. Peeking her eyes open gradually, she allowed the light to seep into her vision. It caused her eyes to water, including the third eye, which was odd for any creature around the area. As were the feathers that sprouted from her flank.
The filly peeked her eyes around, looking for something. It took a moment, but she spotted a few other creatures, as well as two other baskets that resided close to her. Letting her eyes flicker, she stared toward the largest creature, eyes widening for a moment, before she ducked her head down toward the ground, uncertain as to what that creature was. The smell of the smaller creature was somewhat familiar, and she found herself moving slightly toward her, wanting comfort from her fear and uncertainty of the world around her. The filly lifted her bright blue eyes, including the middle one, toward the smaller female, before shifting slightly and tried to stand. Her legs wobbled slightly, before she moved forward and tried to walk. She felt her knees buckle under the weight she had never tested, and within the first couple steps, fell down onto her rump. Letting out a small whinny of a noise, she lifted her eyes toward the mare, staring at her with confusion and a need for help. She wanted help, her mother. Needed it, was a better term.

It was time for the young colt to see the world outside of the confined space he had been nesting in for a week now. With a couple wiggle's and a few kicks to the inside, the basket toppled over and a small colt tumbled on out. The colt was different. The obvious spiked tail and gaping mouth on his neck were the dead giveaways to just how different the little guy was. As he stumbled and fought to stand on his stubby little legs, he curled his tail slowly around his back leg. It was a bright new world around him. He couldn't get a good look just yet because his legs began to give out underneath of himself. He tumbled down onto his stomach and gave a startled yelp.
With a little more fight, he opened his eyes as much as he could and looked around. A young filly, a very large male, and a medium sized female were there. He didn't know who they were and even though he didn't know them, he felt like he was close to the two female's at least. Why or how, he didn't know or understand at the moment. Giving a small yelp, he staggered his way over to the small group, his eyes looking up at them all widely before falling on his stomach again. A disgruntled grunt soon followed yet another yelp due to his need for help. He couldn't do this alone and by the looks of it either could the other female.
Were these other beings here to help him or harm him? He didn't know for sure yet, but he only assumed he was going to find out.

Kayleena's eyes widened as she caught sight of the first of her two children to emerge. Is something wrong? was the mare's first thought as she took in the strange aberrations that seemed to plague her children. Kayleena thought back to the night that she had spent with Tiger Nilla and that strange little structure that they had wandered through. However she could not ignore the tiny fluttering sensation as she took in her children stumbling around on the ground. She moved forward and gently nuzzled her son and daughter with a reassuring gesture. Kayleena cast a glance back towards Daimhain and wondered what he thought about this newest twist.
Her eyes settled on the final basket as it lay still. Was something wrong with it? The small slice appearing on the side brought a smile to her face. It seemed as if the last foal wanted to side hidden. With a gentle motion Kayleena nudged the final wicker basket. "Come out little one." The final basket continued to lay still. However soon it too began rocking back and forth. A thin slice appeared in the wicker but the foal did nothing to push itself out. Moments passed as the foal inside heard the commotion outside and longed to make its appearance. Try as it might though the foal seemed stuck. The tip of the tail that had made the slice in the side of the basket wouldn't budge from the bottom of the rip. The foal grew more frustrated and brought her hooves to bear on the wicker siding. Patches of light shone through and suddenly the world was too bright, too noisy as her wicker prison disappeared.
Serket rolled onto her side and tried to get her vision to focus on her surroundings. Her tail whipped from side to side in her brief burst of excitement of being free. There was something that seemed weighted at the end though. Following the examples of her siblings Serket struggled to gain some solid footing. It was not as easy as it looked. Her surprised cries joined that of her brother and sister ... overwhelming the quiet interior of the cave.

The first foal emerged safely from the basket, if less than gracefully. It was a beautiful little filly. She looked healthy and... had a third eye in the middle of her forehead. Daimhin was surprised enough not to comment. He even managed to keep his mouth shut as the filly's strange brother followed her out into the world. His tail was a little odd but looked a lot like his mother's. The strange gap in his neck, however, made Daimhin stare. Was that natural, or a birth defect? It didn't seem to be giving the colt any pain. By the time the third foal climbed out of her basket, Daimhin was ready to say something.
"Who did you say their father was?" he asked Kayleena lightly. His smile didn't leave his face, but there was no denying that he was slightly unnerved. He loved strange soquili, especially pokesoq. He just hadn't expected such... unique features on this batch.

The small filly shifted a bit, her eyes flickering slowly around the area. The third eye stayed closed, never fluttering or twitching. It remained closed. The feathers that connected on her rump twitched slightly, due to having flicked her tail. Shifting a bit, she tried to stand up, her legs wiggling slightly, before she let out a small whimper, and tried to take a step forward. It resulted in her stumbling a bit, almost falling forward onto her face, before she corrected herself and just peered up toward the creatures surrounding her. Within seconds, her siblings had emerged, one by one. She eyed them curiously, before laying herself down, ears pinning flat against her head in confusion. She didn’t know what was going on…
Electro let out a soft cry of displeasure at the big creature before her. She didn’t know what he was! He was scary. She shifted, moving forward and nestled her body under her mother’s head, hiding from the creature. Her ears pinned back lightly, before he closed her eyes tightly and shook her head quickly. She let out a soft, almost crying noise of displeasure, uncertain what it was she was doing. When the big creature spoke, she jumped lightly, looking back over her shoulder and toward the stallion that was staring at them all curiously; almost uncertainly. She blinked two, big blue eyes at him, before shaking her head again and hid her face once more into her mother’s chest, tail giving a half flick, another soft whimper leaving her body.

Kayleena glanced sharply towards Daimhin. She hadn't really divulged the name of the stallion that she had run across that night. There had been the worry that if Daimhin had known this piece of information that he might have done something to act on it. Now that doubt had crept into her mind though as she stared down at her children with something akin to wonder all over her expression the name came to her lips unbidden. It was a soft whisper that might have been drowned out by the cries of her children, "Tiger Nilla."
Whether or not she had just sealed the fate of a stranger that she had only known for a short period of time Kayleena gave a weary sigh before feeling one of her children burrow against her belly. A soft smile transformed her features before she gazed up to where Daimhin was located. "Are you upset?"
The tiny filly was definitely not used to this unwieldy thing behind her. It felt strange, alien, something that did not belong. Serket's tiny legs propelled her towards the seemingly larger creature as her tail swept back and forth behind her with each wobbly step that she took. Her eyes flickered wildly trying to make sense of this new world. In the basket it had been quiet, if not a little cramped. Now there was all this noise but at the same time ... freedom. She could almost taste it.
A moment later she stumbled backwards. She'd run straight into the large grey thing. A surprised cry tore itself from her lungs as she flailed about but failed to regain her footing.
