Since Falling onto this planet, Dreadwing had only had one goal in mind: find out what happened to Skyquake, and avenge his twin's death. Nothing else mattered. He would eat, drink, and sleep only for the energy to achieve his goals; he would ask any star he came across for information, and he would resist the urge to pick a fight with others--it would only be a waste of time, accomplishing nothing. For months, he kept to the plan. It was a simple one, easy to follow, and it served him well.
For a while.
He had been here far longer than he had ever intended. Months had passed by without word. It seemed that whatever had happened to his brother had happened out of sight, and whoever had killed him must have left long ago to avoid righteous retribution. Thus, Dreadwing had been forced to go by instinct. He remembered heat. Dry heat. So Skyquake had been in a desert. His resolve crumbling, anger fading into despair, and the open, empty ache in his heart throbbing painfully with unremitting sorrow, he had turned to the desert, wandering uselessly across the expanse from oasis to oasis. A desolate place. He hardly saw any stars around. It was like searching through space, but somehow less welcoming, more claustrophobic. And more hot. With his heavy armor, the best solution had been to sleep during the day and travel only at night. It was a sound plan. Hopefully it would last longer than his old one.
Thus it was dusk when he came across signs of other stars--the first signs in weeks. And there were quite a lot of stars in the area--a whole herd of them, from the looks of it! Once again, he checked to see that his sword was strapped to his back. He might need it, if these other stars were as aggressive as he himself was.

Quietly, quietly, hiding a sword underneath her light fabric was quite a challenge, she smiled to the warriors as she passed them, taking a route as far away from her family as possible and her hood pulled low. Not that it wasn't obvious who she was, her coloring was that of a true dun, the same as her father, uncle and grandmother and grandfather identifying her as one of the royal family. If she was caught she'd have to think up an excuse and quick if someone saw her. Mares weren't permitted to do anything that was considered a stallion's job. Her grandmother's guard Quyen seemed to be the only mare who was able to gain any respect if she hadn't been born a mare she could have done all the things she loved...
Her ears perked suddenly as she heard some hoof beats in the sand, she did her best to use the encroaching dark to hide. one of the warriors passed her by. By Allah she payed, as she continued to the boarder of the oasis.
She passed the last set of trees as the edge of the oasis, and the mare breathed as she took off as quickly as she could into the ever changing dunes, as soon as she rounded a dune she slung the sword proudly on her back, she continued further from the oasis under the cover of the moonlit night if only she had been born a stallion.
The mare looked back the way she came taking note of the stars in the sky, they were her only guide back home, the sand would cover her hoofprints in no time. Safely away from the oasis the mare relaxed sure no one would see her, the princess pulled the sword from the strap and began to practice. having done this since she was a child she had become quite skillful for being self taught and observing the warriors train when she had gone for walks with her grandmother. Sooraya was very proud of herself, she did her best not to get caught either, that would spell disaster for the honor of her family.
She paused and shook her head trying to remove the thoughts, though she could still feel guild inside of her but was it fair to deny her own hearts desire? she breathed and focusing again and practiced.

The Seeker paused in his wandering at the sound, the faint sound, of another star nearby. It sounded like...exertion. There was only one star, as far as he could tell, and the lack of battle sounds--screams, cries, hoarse battle cries, and the strike of metal on metal--confirmed that he would not be walking into a war. One war is enough for me. He scented the air--a young mare, probably a starborn. She seemed to be somewhere nearby, perhaps in between two dunes up ahead.
Moving as quietly as he could and hoping that his well-maintained armor would not scrape against itself, he made his way to the dune above and looked down below. A slender dun mare, swathed in bright blue cloth, wielding an elegant sword and practicing. Dreadwing watched her, his Seeker upbringing and eons of war immediately assessing her skill level and technique.
Not bad. Not bad at all. There was room for improvement, definitely, but there is always room for improvement. Her style was different from any he'd seen, but so, too, was her sword, and he had seen many different schools of swordstarship, so he was hardly surprised. He waited until she was between practice sets before calling out, "Greetings."

Unease struck her in the gut as she practiced, someone was watching. She finished her training set she was almost afraid to face the approaching star, the voice sounded distinctly masculine if he was from the herd he'd recognize her immediately. her father would be disgraced in the eyes of his father. her dark eyes closed as she began to think What was she supposed to do? She breathed for a moment, nothing other than a greeting came, no recognition...
The mare opened her eyes, and turned to face the newcomer, Praise Allah, She was faced with a star unknown to these parts, though she was still taken back by what she saw. A very intimidating Solara, her grandmother and that strange nova trader had told her of these, relative of the dragon they were fearsome to behold and this one one seemed to live up well to that expectation, her own instincts told her this one was a seasoned warrior, her grandfather had a similar feeling, she grew curious of his armor never had she seen anything like it before. It was strange, and interesting, she placed her sword in the blue silk that draped her body where if needed she could pull it out quickly.
She was more impressed and curious than frightened, of this other starborn, but she was being rude. What would her grandmother do? Her grandmother would speak mysteriously and ladylike and also try and diminish her presence in front of another male, Sooraya sighed inwardly, she wasn't like that at all not to mention she had to make sure he didn't realize she was of royal blood within her herd. But all those lessons had taught her how to act like she was well enough.
"Greetings, welcome to the homeland of Anuyidan'Danayi herd" she responded finally, "You seem well traveled have you come far?" hopefully she could make him forget what he had just seen by switching the conversation to another topic she hoped at least.

The stranger seemed to have noticed him before he even spoke. Dreadwing approved--skill with a blade was useless if a soldier didn't know what was going on around him. Or her, in this case. She seemed nervous until he saw him, when relief settled in. Relief? How long had it been since he had met a stranger who looked upon him or his kind with relief? He couldn't remember when. In fact, he was certain that such an occasion had never occurred. His armor spoke plainly of the galaxy of his origin, and most stars who had heard of his people avoided them like a black hole. He wasn't sure how he felt about her welcoming words, either. Should he feel welcome? Was he, in fact, welcome? Was her welcome from naivete? Or from confidence?
From the way she handled the blade and her awareness of her surroundings, he was inclined to believe the latter. He must have run across a herd of warriors. Plainly, she knew the strength of her herd, had compared it to his own strength--note her appraising gaze over his armor--and found the odds favorable should the big solara attack her herd. They must be strong, then. Best to be polite and not waste their time. "I have traveled some way," he admitted. "I had not intended to intrude on private land, however. I extend an apology if I have broken the laws of your herd through my trespass." He flicked his tail, wondering how far he should go on. "I am Dreadwing of Vos, and I am seeking news. May I speak to you from a shorter distance?" He didn't want to slide down the sandy slope just to find out that he had, in fact, intruded in some place he was not allowed to be.

"Yes, do come nearer," she offered, it was rather inappropriate to speak from such a distance. He seemed uncertain for a moment, no uncertain wasn't quite the word taken back sounded better, had she said something strange? She was still very young, new to the world, she hadn't experienced the horrors her grandparents had, they were run out from their previous home before they settled here. She had lived a comfortable life despite having to hide most of her personality from other stars.
"No intrusion," she confirmed "nor have any laws been broken so your apology isn't needed," she smiled mysteriously this herd has always been welcoming of strong warrior stallions such as yourself." she had no idea how strange her words would be to this stallion. But she was curious about the places where he had come from, she'd never leave this oasis or her herd, her duty didn't permit. She had to stay here in this place, not that this place was terrible, she just wanted a change of scenery every once in a while.
Now for another problem should she give her real name of a fake one, if she did if he stayed around the herd long he would undoubtedly find her stats and most likely let her secret slip of what he saw. But he wouldn't trust her if she gave him a fake name, but would he understand? Why was being a mare and a princess so difficult she flicked her tail gracefully despite her inner feelings. "I am Sooraya, of the Anuyidan'Danayi." he did seem to have a strong name, perhaps it was his warriors name something different than hers, she would never get such a name "It is an honor to meet you Dreadwing, may I ask what news are you seeking?"

"A welcome to warriors such as I..." He was bemused by the mare's words. Bemused and intrigued. What had he run across in the middle of the desert? Another army? A mere band of warriors? Strong, she said. So I have surely wandered into a band of warriors, but of what size? That was his ever-present military training, and the mind of a commander. He had to remind himself firmly that he had no army, and he was not here to fight. He was here for...intelligence gathering. Yes. That might include troop location of unknown stars, but that was not the point and purpose of his mission when he began it.
Carefully, he began to slide down the slippery slope of sand. Waves and ripples of sand accompanied him, and he stretched out his wings and tail to balance himself on the unsteady surface. He was unused to sandy terrain. How did one fight in it? If he was attacked, he would be at a definite disadvantage. Sooraya probably knew how to fight on this terrain, but there was no way he would ask an enemy for advice. It would only reveal his weakness, and no enemy soldier worth their training would ever help a disadvantaged opponent.
In the midst of his thoughts of strategy, his heart began to ache until he could no longer push aside the feeling. Her question had reminded him of his purpose here. He was looking for Skyquake. He had to ask for information. "Well-met, Sooraya. It is an honor to meet a warrior of the Anuyidan'Danayi. I seek word of my brother. He perished on this planet some months ago, and I seek any news of the circumstances of his passing."

"Did I say something amusing?" Sooraya asked politely unknowing the amusing notion of her words.
The mares eyes instinctively narrowed in on his footing as he came closer, despite his attempts to level himself out as he slid down the dune, he wasn't used to such loose terrain, that much she could tell, she and her herd always had the advantage here. Still She would be fool to underestimate him, all good warriors learned to adapt quickly.
Warrior
the title made her heart flutter and swell with pride, having warrior of some unknown herd call her thus, she was a warrior princess however, it was a shame she would have to correct him soon just let her keep the title for a little while longer. She wanted to be known by all her herd as a warrior, but it was after all forbidden.
The mare shook her head sadly, "I have never seen such a warrior such as yourself before, your armor is very unfamiliar to me." she admitted curiosity couldn't quite be hidden in her voice, she'd never been out of her herd after all. She'd have to apologize to her grandmother latter another etiquette lesson no doubt, how she hated those. The mare's eyes lit up for a moment if anyone knew it was her grandmother, they had come from a place far away from here before settling in this oasis the other option too was Badr the trader he'd been everywhere so long as there was a water to guide him. "I am young still and haven't experienced the world as my grandmother she is very wise and traveled, perhaps she has seen your brother or another of your kind." she then pause "we also have many well traveled traders coming and going constantly perhaps one of them has news you might investigate?"
There was one little problem...
she couldn't just bring this stallion in with a sword strapped to her back... She couldn't, her grandfather would have a fit and worse her father would be scolded by both his parents... even her uncle might have to deal with such scolding. she would disgrace her father, she couldn't allow that. she'd have to wait for his answer before anything else she resisted the urge to flatten her ears, hopefully she wouldn't get into 'too' much trouble.

He was careful to halt at just the right distance from her. Close enough that he could speak with an even volume, but far enough that he was not threatening her with his superior stature. She was probably fast--she certainly looked fast, and elegant, too. Some brief part of his mind that had been asleep since vapid adolescence compared her to the slim seekers such as Starscream that were built for speed. He didn't need to remind himself not to underestimate her.
Dreadwing shook his head. "Amusing? Perhaps. But I am more flattered than anything else." He himself did not realize the compliment he had paid her.
But confusion, appreciation, and curiosity were soon overshadowed by bitter disappointment. It was a shot in the dark--Skyquake probably died before he landed. It is unlikely that anyone would have found anything more than his bones. "I do not know the circumstances behind his death, but I find it likely that he would have been killed by one of our kind. His armor would have looked like mine, and he like me, but I do not know who his murderer was." That Skyquake had been killed and not merely died he was sure--how could a brave and honorable fighter such as his brother died anything less than death in combat? But Sooraya's next words kindled hope in his heart once more. "I would be grateful for news of any kind!" he said, and his voice showed it.

The mare allowed herself to smile briefly, as her words seemed to bring him great disappointment and caused her smile to vanish, being truly sorry, she'd never been in hos shoes where as to hunt for a sibling for so long, but she did understand the bonds of family.
"Such a thing, brother kill brother in your herd? For what reason?" the concept itself was so alien and almost horrifying to the mare, having grown in a herd where family ties were everything. it was strange this stallion seemed so honorable yet his herd dishonest, how could such a stallion put up with that or was his leader blind to such corruption in his herd? No such dishonesty would her grandfather put up with, they would be swiftly punished if wrongdoing was proven.
"Then I shall introduce you to those of my herd well traveled, however I must ask you to keep what you have seen a secret, females aren't allowed to practice the sword arts in my herd," she quickly explained he hoped he could understand the dishonor it would bring her family if she was caught. "Please understand not a word" she stressed again genuinely concerned she glanced back to her herd.
"Meet me at the edge of the oasis in at sunrise, I have to arrange a few things." she told the stallion as she headed off back toward her home the oasis. How was she going to explain this to her grandmother it's not like her grandfather would just let her grandmother meet a strange stallion... She hoped her grandmother may have a solution, the trader on the other hand would be easy enough to talk too... he was very strange.
((ie Schez will be entering the RP soon if that's ok with you =3 and maybe a couple more of Sooraya's herdmates.))

Dreadwing shook his head vehemently. The very idea burned in his heart and his morality like the worst form of blasphemy--and while he knew, knew from experience, that some of his people had...differing world views, to him and to his kin, it really was. "Brother kill brother? Of course not! Kin should not kill kin! To slay another part of yourself..." He shook his head. "Perhaps it is different among some people, but among ours, brothers are souls that split in half. We are one and the same--that is how I knew Skyquake was dead, even so far apart. We could always feel each other, no matter how many empty expanses stretched between us." He shook his head again. "No, likely it was one of our enemy who slew him. It is...complicated." That would not do for an answer--she would surely like to know more. "Our people are...divided into two. The two halves fight each other. Skyquake and I were on one side; it is likely the other side that killed him. Rarely do kin fight on opposite sides, though I have heard tell that once our respective leaders called each other brother before our enemy's leader betrayed ours." Hopefully, that would suffice. If not, he would have to find a way to summarize eons of warfare and bad blood, and that was not a prospect he found enticing at the time.
So Sooraya was not fully a warrior? How strange, and disappointing as well. Not that he had made a mistake in assuming that she was--that he had no regrets over--but that she should not be allowed to be one. Everyone fought, mare and stallion. Even that worthless wretch Airachnid fought, and she was hardly the only mare on their side. "I will not betray your secret," he said. He bowed his head. His promise, once made, would be kept. "And I will meet you at the place you speak of." Which left him with the need to find something else to do until then. Sleeping seemed to be a good option, but where to sleep that would be safe? "Until the dawn, Sooraya." He turned and walked away, trying to keep steady on the treacherous sands.

Sooraya watched as the sun began to rise as she had some explaining to do to her father, grandmother an grandfather about this meeting and explaining how she met the stallion without revealing what she was actually doing she'd managed to convince her father though he still seemed suspicious and grandfather yet she was certain her grandmother didn't believe a word of it. Her grandfather the King of Kings would never let another stallion near his mate without proper security, so her father was waiting with the Queen of Queens as Ryar Tended to major herd business while she was sent to meet Dreadwing with a guard.
"Has your father returned?" the princess asked her guard from underneath her veil, another thing she was being forced to wear, her father told her it was to appease her grandfather, Sooraya understood why though she still hated it.
"Yes Princess, he has," the two toned brown stallion with golden hooves "He just surfaced last night with some new wares and an interesting story." the stallion fluttered his four dragonfly wings not very menacing but but it gave him the ability to hover which to a point could be quite useful if used properly
Sooraya gave a nod "When we are done speaking to The Queen of Queens I would like you do find him this stallion also would like to hear from him being well traveled." the mare explained as she walked beside her 'protector.' She smiled slightly under her veil a smile that didn't reach her eyes.
Nahusha gave a nod of understanding "Of course Princess." and said nothing more lest to distract him from his task at hand as they reached the edge of the oasis it was an honor to be given such a job as protecting the royalty one he was sure had the queen's influence over it the king of course hating his lineage, Nahusha didn't want to ruin this chance to prove himself to the king.
Now it was time to wait for Dreadwing to arrive. He had sworn to protect her secret she felt he would with his final words but she was still quite nervous about the whole thing what if he didn't find any information he was looking for this whole thing would be for naught, but there she waited with an air of mystery and pride for her family.

Dreadwing found a place to spend the night not far from the oasis, but far enough that their sentries could not sense him. On a hardened piece of ground, he waited for the sunrise--and tried not to probe at the empty space in his consciousness that had once been full of vigor and drive. Skyquake. Half of his very soul. He should have been able to feel his brother, feel whatever wind swam across his wings, feel whatever ground trembled beneath his hooves. But now all he got to his question was an aching, echoing void. Skyquake was gone. And the pain of his passing made it almost impossible to breathe.
He couldn't sleep. He had slept the previous day, having planned to move at night, but now there was nothing to do but wait for sunrise, buried, shivering, under layers of cold metal armor. So he pulled the sword from its sheathe on his back and began to practice. Swings, stabs, blows, blocks. Practice dances as old as tribal memory and as new as frenzied skirmishes moved the blade in what almost felt like ritual. It was ritual. And by sinking himself into the movement, Dreadwing was able to forget--just for a while--his sundered bond and dead brother. He finally stopped, panting, muscles twitching, when the sky turned from Stygian black to midnight blue, and began to head back towards the oasis and the rendezvous with Sooraya.
He would probably be asked to leave his sword behind with the border guards, and he was content with that. It was what anyone with the barest hint of experience would do, and besides, he could fight even without a weapon. His armor would make any bruise deeper, even cut skin. Leaving his precious blade in the care of another for a brief while was not a problem in the least. By the time he had passed the place where he met the mare, he had already planned how to ask for information (leaving wiggle room, of course, for whatever titles and traditions the local leaders might have. He was a Decepticon officer, and all Decepticon officers knew how, when, and who to suck up to to achieve their goals). When he was close enough to notice other stars around the oasis, he paused and waited.

Ah there he was right on time, she saw him a distance away "Nahusha" saying only the guards name and motioned to Dreadwing, as she moved into his sight. She hadn't told him during their first meeting she was a princess though she acted like it. He was no doubt going to be surprised, she sometimes wished she didn't have to act so formal like this but those were her grandfathers rules and so she was here, dressed up in her most royal attire complete with her veil.
"Yes of course princess" he said understanding the order he gave the princess a low bow before trotting between herself and the new arrival, he was much larger than the young warrior had thought, regardless he approached standing a respectable distance away still between Dread and and the Princess
"I must respectably ask you to relinquish your fine weapon for the safety of the Princess and the other members of The Royal Family."
Sooraya took a few steps closer to speak without raising her voice too much, yet still keeping her voice strong and unwavering "Welcome Dreadwing, I have arranged for you to meet my grandmother the Great Queen of Queens." if she wasn't wearing a veil she might have tried to mouth an aplogy for not mentioning it sooner, she tried to hint with her eyes, at least what she had said last night would make more sense now, females were forbidden to use the sword especially her the only other mare in the royal family. "If you would follow me and my protector Nahusha, I will take you to the Queen" Sooraya made a point of leading the procession toward the place where her grandmother resided with her father as protection.
Before allowing Dreadwing to follow the Princess The two toned guard made sure to acquire his weapon and leave it with one of the other guards whom protected the edge of the herd. Nahusha had never seen its like before and was just as impressed as the princess though she hid it for the sake of her family. As the Princess led the trio he continued to keep himself inbetween the two of them mostly for his own protection, oh by Allah, Ryar would have his head if a single scratch was laid on his granddaughter.
Sooraya gave a nod to Nahusha "We're here" she said going over to stand beside her grandmother not before she gave the Queen a bow of her own. She moved beside her grandmother and spoke "Great Queen of Queens I present Dreadwing, a warrior of a heard far away he seeks your Wisdom from you travels to this place."

The Heir stood beside his mother ready to protect her if needed, though he doubted Sooraya would do anything her harm her grandmother but his father insisted and so Kamal was here sword sheathed but at the ready should the need arise, Saafir was with their father helping him with herd business. But his daughter certainly had found and interesting character from top to bottom he was clothed in strange armor the like he'd never seen, how far away had he come Kamal couldn't help but wonder.

The star swathed in that many layers of clothing was Sooraya? The first thought that struck Dreadwing was that all of that clothing would be too hot in the sun. The second was that all that clothing would constrict the warrior-daughter's movement if there should be a fight. (The idea that there might not be an impending battle in the next five minutes was still an alien idea to him; he'd been fighting for so long that the search for cover, exits, high ground, possible hiding spots, supply routes, possible enemies, weapon caches, possible allies, liabilities, and situations to take advantage of had become instinctive. He didn't even need to think about all of that now, it was just natural. And one of those natural observances was that Sooraya's hooves could become entangled by the veil, and her sight might be obscured--another disadvantage. What was wrong with this herd?! Were they actively seeking defeat?) He would think those layers would be of some advantage at night when it was cold, but it seemed that she would be wearing it during the day.
Certainly the wrappings looked very fine. It wasn't as opulent as some herds, perhaps, but it was an extravagance he had not seen since before the war. It made him feel a little bit homesick, even--the star cluster he had been from before the war had been a rich one, full of beauty and grandeur. The sight of beautiful, rich things like this brought conflicting emotions to the seeker that he endeavored to keep out of his facial expression. He nodded at the guard and drew his sword from his back, handing it to the guard. It was an elegant, sweeping, [heavy] weapon; he was certain that no member of this herd had seen a blade quite like it (or rather, he hoped so--their race had a fearsome reputation in some parts of the universe).
However, he nearly dropped the sword at the guard's introduction. Princess? This herd was a monarchy? And furthermore, his new...friend? acquaintance?...ally was a member of its royal family? It was like being told that a rough-and-tumble laborer was a senator. "Your request is reasonable," he said to cover his surprise. To Sooraya he said, "I thank you for your consideration and your time, Princess Sooraya." Many things Dreadwing knew, had been taught as a youngling--how to address royalty was not one of them. He followed her and her guard with his wings folded up and resting against his wing armor, gazing around himself and automatically assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the herd.
All the while in his head, he turned over and over that problem of Sooraya not being a true warrior (and problem it was to him, even if he wasn't sure why he cared). Well, she had a warrior's spirit, certainly, but she while she had some basic training, she did not have enough, and it seemed that her family wouldn't let her get more practice or training. If Dreadwing hadn't been on a quest, he would have liked to stay here for a while longer to maybe teach her a thing or two. She needed help, that much was for certain, and he knew enough about fighting (even before the war) to be a good teacher. What he needed, then, was an opportunity. And, of course, enough information to finish his quest and pay his last respects to his beloved brother!
Dreadwing was lead into the presence of the Queen of Queens in the shade. She, too, was covered in veils--did she find it as bothersome as Sooraya did, he wondered? He gave a respectful dip of the head (low, but not so low as to be a bow) and tried not to be too obvious as he assessed the richly-clad stallion at the queen's side. Both of them showed even more signs of opulence, and the stallion bore a sword. If he should use it against Dreadwing, he would have to block the blows with his armor. What was the sword made of? The material could make all the difference in the world if it came to a fight.
((Now it's Hoshi's turn, right?))
