Sometimes I wonder what life will be like centuries from now, far beyond some kind of technocratic dystopia or otherwise 1984 brave new world scenario, and I think "we are getting pretty close to the bottom/end", but then there's anime, and I think "wow, we haven't even scratched the surface of how weird things can get"

I was watching Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere when this thought occurred to me. But another anime - Fractal - supports this theory. The Japanese have already figured out not only the next century, but the next millennium.
