Character Name: Veronitoria Carthridge

Why the Name?: Her parents couldn’t decide between the name Veronica after a special aunt or Victoria after her mother’s taste so the compromise was made with Veronitoria. Her mother calls her Tori while her father calls her Verni, of course he's the only one allowed to. She prefers to go by Tori.
Name Meaning: Veronica means 'Victory Bringer' from the Greek and is the name for a genus of plants (which is probably where her father got the name from). While Victoria is Latin for 'Conqueror; victory' as well as the name of one of her mother's most influential people from history, Queen Victoria.

(One) Power: She sees microbes as living creatures like in Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture. Decorates her notebook with sketches of these creatures. In turn, most of her magic somehow involves the help or hindrance (curse) of these creatures. Like these little guys.

This power right now isn't very developed. She sees the microbes but doesn't necessarily recognize them and has to go look them up. Some of the generalized ones, like Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus). ** For RP purposes I'll probably draw doodles of these myself as well to stand in place for her drawings ** As she hones her power more she'll be able to identify them and what they do just by seeing them as she'll eventually people able to control them.

An example of how she’d use it to help people would be that she can see the microbes on someone who is ill, she could tell them what is infecting them and through research of her father’s books she could learn what the disease plaguing this person could be.

An example of a curse would be to plant fungus microbes in someone’s lunch box as a prank causing mold to grow on their food or potentially giving them food poisoning if ingested.

Personality:

Shy: Having been raised as an only child and having not had a great time in the 'normie' schools she often keeps to herself. Although she'll respond when talked to, she will not actively try to continue the conversation. This could change now that she's in a new school with new people who do seem to have 'magical abilities'. This means she often avoids social settings and interactions meaning she misses out on a lot of school sponsored events. Instead she often just sits in her room with her nose in a book or her sketchpad.

Artistic: Taking great inspiration from her mother Veronitoria was never dressed in a normal fashion preferring her tiny top hats, tall socks and heels, adorned with jewelry, and wearing tops that resemble corsets. All of her notes are decorated with pictures of microbes scribbled on the sides.

Curious: She's always been curious, a trait she picked up from her father. Reading every book within her reach and exploring every nook-and-cranny. This in turn can also get her in trouble as she has a knack for "eaves dropping" -- unintentionally of course -- on other people's conversations. Her shyness is overrun at times due to her curiosity. If someone mentions an interesting tid-bit of information, especially during classes, she'll speak up if she's interested in learning more.

Gullible: Growing up her mother and father never had a reason to lie to her, and because of this she's become very trusting. Given her natural curiosity combined with her believing of anything that people say, she gets a lot of pranks pulled on her.

Emotional and Spoiled: Given the fact that Veronitoria was an only child, and pretty spoiled by her ever loving father she tends to get emotional about things when things don't go quite her way. She's known to throw hissy-fits, pouting matches, and to break things. This also means she's prone to getting pretty worked up and emotional about things. Pranks pulled on her can lead to her breaking down and crying and asking questions about why people don't accept her. At times she can be "too" sensitive.

Relationships

Family History: Only child. Her mother had her created in the monster world and then moved to the 'normie' world (she doesn't remember any of this as she was only 1). There she fell in love with her husband and they got married and raised Veronitoria together. Her father was a scientist (now retired) who worked with genetics all his life, a ‘normie’. Mother was a witch and a magical artist (she uses her magic to control the paint and paintbrushes) who painted on things like mirrors, walls, and wardrobes. They met and fell in love at a local farmers market where her mother was selling pieces of smaller furniture and mirrors that she had painted on. Her father fell in love with a full length mirror with the rim that was painted as a twisting rose vine that bloomed at the top of the mirror. She inherited her mother's magical skills and her fathers love of science.

Her father didn't know that her mother was a witch until he was sitting at home one day with a sick Veronitoria, she was three. Her sickness had weakened the spell that her mother normally cast upon her to change her skin tone and during a sneezing fit the spell crumbled completely revealing Veronitoria's true skin tone. Her father, obviously distressed by this, called her mother immediately and her mother rushed home and had to explain everything. Although the story was a bit odd, as was she, he only laughed and said that that didn't change the fact that he loved both of them. Her parents have been happily married for 14 years now.

Occasionally the mother takes vacations back to the monster world to visit her family and friends there. She would take Veronitoria with her at times to meet her monster grandparents.

Relationship with Family: Good -- she loves her family dearly.

Biography

History: As a child her parents would find her in her room giggling and talking to herself. They’d often ask her who was there and Veronitoria would answer, 'well my friends!' She was not able to properly inform her parents what she was seeing until she discovered a book while “reading” in her father’s study that discussed micro-organisms (mostly she was looking at the pictures). She took the book to her father and explained that these were the things she was seeing and he asked her to draw them. As she drew funny little pictures of bubbly creatures with tentacle like limbs, large round eyes, and irregular structures her father began to see a vague resemblance. She even drew pictures of ones that he had knowledge of her never seeing an actual picture of. Although confused at first by how she was seeing these things, he could only think about how proud he was of his little girl. He later talked to her mother and they realized that this was her magical ability. They talked day and night about this, debating what to do, when her mother told her father about a school in the monster world called Monster High. Although it broke his heart to know that she'd be far away, her mother informed him that it would be the best for her and she'd learn to hone and understand her abilities that she'd been blessed with. A couple days before Veronitoria was due to turn 15 her mother and father sat her down and explained that when she turned 15 she'd be attending a special school where she'd be able to meet others with abilities like her own. She cried when she learned that she had to leave her family, but her parents assured her that they'd be nearby whenever she needed them. When she turned 15 she was Spirited Away by the monster bus to Horror High.

Veronitoria attended normal 'normie' schools up through middle school. In the younger years she'd talk to, talk about, and draw her microbial friends, but as she soon learned not everyone had 'special abilities' such as her. After a couple years she learned to keep her mouth shut and mostly stuck to herself, her books, and her microbes.

Her skin is also naturally green, but her mother 'blessed' her when she was younger with a skin coloration. Every night at midnight her mother walks in and repeats the blessing turning her skin back to normal from the age of 1 until 15. Her mother told her about this blessing right before she sent her off to Horror High and removed it from her revealing her true skin tone. Now, Veronitoria embraces it as part of herself and will no longer use the blessing in normal day life unless she's visiting the human world back home during vacations.

Personal Goals: Wants to understand more about her powers, hone them, and understand more about herself and the monster world.
Professional Goals: She hopes to learn and understand more about her powers so that when she becomes strong enough she'll be able to control the microbes to help or hinder others. She hopes to go into a scientific field or a medical field like her father.

Morals/Ethics: She values all forms of life from the biggest life forms down to the smallest organisms that can’t be seen by the human eye. This means she often has problems killing things like fungus, mold, and microbes preferring to somehow “re-locate” them instead.

Likes: Science, microbes, art, writing, reading, learning new things, taking naps, baths, tea, the winter (because it means she gets to stay indoors and drink tea, take naps, read, and take long baths).
Dislikes: Math, physical education and any form of physical activity, loud, demanding, and obnoxious people. People who play pranks on each other and bullies.

Power: How would she use this as a help/hindrance? Does she like....make people get sick/cure them with the bacteria?

Bio: 'her mother was selling smaller on furniture and mirrors' I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say in that sentence, just that she was selling furniture? (The rest of the sentence is a bit run on so maybe just break it up a little ;3) I like that you put some thought into her parents and their relationship, that's a nice touch.

Morality / Ethics: I would switch that to maybe being her dreams as opposed to ethics and morality. Her ethics and morality should go into her moral values and her standings on things. She seems to have a friendship with the microbes so it might be something like she values life down to the tiniest baseline.

But for the record her history looks wonderful, it looks like you've put some serious thought into it, nice c:

Let's talk about your powers! It's really interesting idea for a power, but you have no strengths, weaknesses or limitations on the power. You need to expand upon it and give those who haven't seen that particular manga an understanding of what is going on. 83

Short Bio

I'm a little confused about the mother's power. What is a 'magical artist'? If she sold her wares to the Normie world with power imbued in them, let's say that the pictures moved, wouldn't normies be afraid of her instead of endeared by her?

Her husband still doesn't know she's a witch? How has she been able to keep that under wraps for so long? Especially with their daughter being a witch as well?

History

Her parents weren't worried that she was schizophrenic? Or an over active imagination? At what age did all this happen? Her father didn't worry about his 'normal' daughter through all of this? He just spun her around and praised her?

'Contacting her contacts' can be better phrased.

Did her mother consult her father on any of this? Sending her off to a strange school?

How did she feel about her skin? She had seen it as a 'normal' color for her entire life, then suddenly her skin's a completely different color. Did she feel self concious? Self hating?

Where does her father thing she goes for 90% of the year? He never wanted to visit the campus or go pick up his little girl?

There's a lot of things missing from her history. I'd fill it up a bit more and give us a better look at Veronitoria.

She only has dreams about the world she lives in? What about herself and her goals?

You will need to get the new quest format. I think you're missing a few things on there. She's interesting so far! I look forward to seeing more of her!

Monsters actually cannot create children naturally, like normies. Children must be created in a "lab" kind of place. It would be impossible for a human to impregnate a witch because they are entirely different types of beings.

That being said, the fact that she was born in the normie world is acceptable, but I suggest looking into a change where her father does not know about her mother. Also, she was probably spirited away by some monsters on a bus to get to the monster world.
