Autumn and the large tree on the down had begun to lose its leaves, the whimpers of kittens resounded throughout the burrows from the nursery. It was enough to make one buck's head ache, while this meant that he could tell his tales without much worry, but also meant that there was going to be a few upset marlis. It was just as well, he was enough to have anyone cuff at him. Talltale was what he was, a rabbit with a large mouth and larger ego to the tales he wove.

Today though he was more or less just looking for a place to be by himself and nibble on what grass was still remotely green. Most the clover had passed and things were slim pickings, finding a rather good patch, he settled in to eating. With his ears laid back against his haunch, paws pulled in close to his chest, Talltale's eyes even closed as he nibbled. There seemed to be little need to be high strung here. But what he felt that lacked was a little. Company, for his sake.

Uncert for now

Hyz'roo scuffled her feet on the ground as she got up. She gave her fur a quick shake and her ears a quick clean. It has been many moons since she has had a proper sleep. She looked around and gave a cautious sniff as the smell of autumn reached her nose. Oh pray to Frithe the weather stay as warm as it can with the outburst of kittens. She gave a quick hop forward looking down the warren's dark tunnels. She decided it was still to early for all the warren to be up and about.

She quickly made her way through the tunnels her feet flying effortless and light as they had in the past. She knew these tunnels so well and soon could see and smell the fresh air of the outside world. She quickly burst through the hole and came to a soft slow hop as she looked about. Ah it felt so nice to get some air after a restless sleep and she loved the feeling of running.

Her golden eyes looked across around her and oh what a site it was that autumn brought the leaves such bright colors of Frithe himself. She always did like Summer and Autumn. As she looked about she noticed a buck she was not quite so familiar with. She had seen some marlis chasing him off and was curious as to why. Perhaps she could find out, she approached him as he nibbled hoping she was not disturbing him.

"Hello."

The light vibrations of someone or something coming closer to his location caused a blue eye to open and peer around one side, that eye closed and the other opened to peer at the other side. An ear flicked over his back before he caught sight of a strange grey colored doe. Nose giving a sniff to the air, but he didn't really slow in his eating. Remaining a silent for the time being, he watched her as she stopped close by and spoke to him. Well it had been rude to shift his position and turn his back to the doe. So, finished what he was doing he straighten himself up and idly groomed at an ear.

"Good morning, cries from the many newborns keep you awake too?" he asked kinda plainly as he let the ear go and turn his head towards the doe. "Seem they are never happy unless their mouths are doing something." Talltale turned to look back towards the warren, dawns were his favorite times, it was the time he could be alone, most the time...

Hyz'roo watched him with speculative eyes, how intriguing this one was indeed. She tried hard to keep a smile off her face as he spoke it seemed the kittens had woken him. "After being here for so long the kittens cries no longer bother me. Maybe thats cause one day I will be a Marli myself as for you that will not be the case" She said letting the humor in her voice reach her eyes in case he took her words the wrong way. However it was true the reasons for her awakening resided in the shadows of her dreams. It seemed no matter how often they happened and no matter how many times they awoke her she could not for the life of her remember them. It was that very reason that drove her nuts, as though something was missing. How odd indeed it was that thus would happen to her but what could she do.

She sat down next to him making herself more comfy against the colder ground, she loved how quiet dawn was but she knew it wouldn't be long before the rest of the warren awoke. She could already hear stirring inside the deep dark tunnels

"I never pity the does that wish to have a bunch of crying kittens. Suckling at her at every turn until they are old enough to eat flayrah on their own." Talltale muttered shaking his head. "But as they say, everything has its season. Like Summer to Autumn and Autumn to Winter. Things change and the tricks get trickier."

Settling himself down again, he looked out over the down as the gloom had started to rise with the sun. It seemed to promise clear skies and mildly warm weather, besides being a bit nippy to the whiskers. Sure signs that Frith was going to be headed on one of his trips again.

"Lets just hope that Frith doesn't stay away too long this season. I wouldn't want to go out and drag him back... Again."

Hyz'roo tried to stifle a laugh at this buck. Indeed he was serious but she could not help but find him funny. As she looked at him she could not help but admire how blue his eyes were. For some odd reason they reminded her of something, she just did not know what. As though she had some distant memory trying to come out of the shadows. She gave her ears a quick flick before turning her attention back to him. "If it were not for those does that take of those horrendously loud kits then I must reassure you me and you would not be here to this day. You should keep that in mind especially since you were once one of those kits" As she spoke she had indeed noticed the warmth creeping in as they talked. Indeed it was promise of a nice day. As he spoke her head perked with interest, so not only was this bunny clueless to the fortune of new kits but he also believes he has once retrieved the great son Frithe himself. This what a story she was much indeed interested to hear. She was anyways new to the warren and although she had indeed hear many stories she was always keen to hear more.

"Please do tell me this story of you dragging Frithe back" She tried to keep her voice light of amusement in case the buck took it personally. Yet something about him knew she would not set him off, for even if he did she would handle it well. She was interested if he had yet to meet a bunny with her optimism. It seemed no matter how dark things are she always saw the brighter side. Or like many say the grass is always brighter on the other side.

Talltale watched the doe with a dismissive eye on the statement about the kittens and how they had once been so. He knew that, but that was so long ago that he failed to remember and wished not to remember it exactly. "If only some of us has better memories of such times, they wouldn't be so hard pressed to escape them." Was all he said shifting around to face the doe, on the other side of his green patch of grass.

"So you wish to hear it huh? Tell me when I do speak of the tale, you aren't going to puff up like one of them other does and chase me all over the down." He turned an accusing eye on her. "Are you?"

He left the question hanging in the air as he settled down, limbs tucked in close to his body, ears half laying back, eyes drawn somewhat skyward. It was his classic pose when telling his self proclaimed tales of his own heroism. When truly they were misleading musings of a delusional buck, hoping for greatness in himself.

"I was just a young buck back then, full of spirit and strife. Tearing up the ground like no one else could. The weather was like this morning, cool and crisp, enough to set spirits high. But this day there were clouds covering the sky and it seemed that Frith had laid a blanket to hide his passing, While the other rabbits of the warren went about their day, none had suspected that Frith had left his post and headed elsewhere. But I had, I had felt the cold seeping deeper into the ground, the frost that started to coat what grass was left. I had to do something, but wasn't sure exactly what." Talltale paused for a moment, eyes glassy as he was lost within himself.

She felt a pang of pity as he spoke, it was clear his childhood was not the best. She almost wanted to say something but thought better of it, clearly whatever he had been through was a dark time. Such a shame a kit would see dark days she wished no young eyes to see anything worse then happy days. It made her almost think about herself, she had no idea about her past. It was all a blank state, maybe she was happy maybe she was not. There was nothing to help her recall who her past even was.

His questioning voice brought her back to the present and she gave a small nod to him. Of course she was one to never judge without good reason.
"Of course I will listen to your story with nothing but my ears"

She watched him as he settled himself down, she knew this was gonna be a long story, and quite the story indeed. She to laid herself down and made herself comfy ready to hear this intriguing story. She was curious as to what possible words and tales he could have said to make others chase him. A slight smile curled at the edge of her mouth. She could not help but admire the way he told his stories with such detail and thought as though they were true. She admired his storytelling skills she knew it was never meant for her.

She could see the passion in which he told his stories in his eyes she knew he was lost in his own words of imagination.

"Please continue" She said in a hushed voice as she urged him on with his tale. Hyz'roo was never one for stories but she was always one to listen, she didn't talk much but she always kept her ears open.
