Being an adult dragon Brumath didn't often need an all over scrub anymore, but when he did it was a big job; he might only be an average sized brown but that was still a lot of dragon. He'd been dealing with that much dragon since he was thirteen though so it wasn't something he was unused to; the only alien element was the weather.
Perhaps for the first time since arriving F'itz approved of it.
He'd been to Trine before but Brumath hadn't needed an all over bath in that time and so he hadn't appreciated the difference between here and Benden. The main difference was that he wasn't freezing cold.
F'itz - stripped to the waist - dipped his large scrubbing brush into the bucket of soapsand again and started work on another section of his dragon's flank. Late afternoon sun was warm but not too hot on his skin, and nearby the waters of one of Trine's great lakes lapped ever so gently against the sand he stood barefoot in.
Currently lying down to allow his rider to reach his side Brumath watched the few fluffy clouds skid overhead in the azure sky and gave a deep rumble of contentment.

Sassy highly disapproved of Rochelle's outfit for the day. She wanted to wrap her hair up and out of the way with a ghastly orange strip of cloth that she thought looked lovely but, in general, Sassypants disapproved of the color orange. He snatched it from her hands before she could wrap the offending thing about her and zoomed off.
"You wherrie brained b*****d!" The glasscrafter bolted after him, hair half bound up by pins and hooks, a brand new piercing in her left nostril to go with the two in each ear and the labret. She'd started a collection! One that needed it's sharding headwrap.
The firelizard failed to listen to reason, instead squeaking around the scarf and he dove in the general vicinity of a huge dark rock that turned out to be a dragon. Sassy banked a hard right and dove into the water. He flailed, weighed down by scarf and his own pink little scrap of cloth.
"You deserved that!" She yelled, jogging up. "Shards and ********, I'm sorry, uh, sir. That's... a naughty flit. Sorry. He didn't hit anyone, did he?"

F'itz didn't notice the firelizard coming until he felt Brumath's mild bafflement at the almost-collision. Lowering his hand he peered around to see a blue firelizard with a piece of orange cloth flailing around in the shallow water. It also had a... scarf? He stared for a moment and then moved forward to carefully scoop it up, Cinder popping out of between to creel his concern for a fellow flitt as he did so.
Just as he stooped to retrieve the miniature dragon he was distracted by a voice and raised his head to see.... Definitely a young woman. Very firmly woman; it was a little difficult to miss. "No, he didn't hit us," F'itz replied, scooping the blue up carefully. "Is he yours?"

The blue flailed as pitiful as he could be, eventually flopping into the water with a whine. He creeled up at Cinder, half knotted in the head scarf and his own pink contraption. Even Rochelle's grumpy in his head did little to keep the flit worried. He chirped and latched on to F'itz's hands in a small ball of still-very-young-flit.
"He's not very good with flying yet," Rochelle huffed, shoving some loose strands out of her face quickly. Despite her frustration with the small blue thing, she smiled at F'tiz, a quick thank you sort of smile. "That's Sassypants and he hates orange, apparently."
Sassy wailed and gnashed at the scarf, kicking at the scarf as a way of expressing this. Rochelle grumbled at him and reached over to try and take the damp thing away. "Really, I'm sorry. I didn't think he'd take it. He has a pink scarf, he can't judge other people, but no..."

Sassypants. F'itz looked down at the young creature in his hands for a moment and then carefully handed him over to the strange young woman.... Very strange. She had... piercings. Piercings made of glass. "Well, everything has to start learning somewhere," he said a little stiffly, feeling very much as though his way of life was clashing up against a very different one. Piercings. He simply could not understand why anyone would deface their bodies in such a manner. Rumbling deep in his chest Brumath turned his head to regard the pair of humans, his eyes a steady dark blue. he mused aloud, including the young woman in his words as well as his rider.

Rochelle waited as patiently as could for F'tiz to give her back the little firelizard. She grinned again, scooting closer to gather up Sassy. He squeaked and clawed his way onto her chest, half-burrowing under the collar of her shirt to sprawl on the soft skin there. Rochelle sighed, glancing down at him.
"It's true. He's stubborn, probably, I'm not sure. He tries though. I guess that's what matters." She rubbed at the firelizards back, lips twithcing up into a smile ... and then suddenly dragon. Her eyes went wide as an owls, slowly looking towards the dragon as opposed to the older rider.
"You talk like a Harper," she said, for not the last time. And then the curiousity turned into a bright grin, eyes crinkled up at the edges. "But I didn't know we were chilling out at night yet. What do you mean?"

the brown rumbled, lowering his head until the tip of his muzzles was on a level with Rochelle's nose and only a couple of feet back from her. F'itz looked over at his dragon, aware of the conversation he was having with the stranger.
F'itz refrained from sighing heavily at his dragon. Instead he turned back to Rochelle, sending a feeling of affection to Cinder as the black settled down on his shoulder. "People do say it's the thought that counts... I suppose it's fair enough with firelizards."

"My-- oh! Oh, these." Rochelle laughed and patted Sassy once before she touched at her facial piercings. Then suddenly dragon muzzle that seemed even closer that before, an arms length away and leveled right at her. The glasscrafter grinned again. "I'm a glass crafter. I got bored one day and said 'why not'? People use the baubles for their ears all the time, I've seen them in other places. I'm going to consider it free advertising, myself, especially once it starts getting all thunderstorming around here and I can set some more poles up."
She beamed even then at F'itz, seemingly unbothered by the multiple conversations going on at once. "Smarter than canines but typically nicer than felines. Have to give them credit where it's due. Your dragon likes me glass--" She poked at one of her piercings again. "Would you like one?"

F'tiz had no idea what he could polity say to that and so he found himself blinking in silence. They were... aesthetic he supposed but not quite proper and a bit.. well... wild.
Brumath put into the silence, calm and thoughtful as ever.
His dragon had just said he wanted a piercing.
Brumath projected to his rider and Rochelle
F'itz stared up at his dragon, looked at Rochelle, and then back up at his dragon. "Well you can hardly have a lip piercing," he said after a few moments, "it would probably melt in battle."
