"I'm not killing anyone....." "Just keep moving foward. Get up and walk on your own legs. At least you have two good legs to walk on."
Edward Yatsumori District 10 Tribute After returning home from the Capitol, crowned as winner of the Hunger Games. Edward and his family moved into the victor's village next to his mentor's house though whe wanted to be in the ranch house he spent most of his childhood where Winifred's grandmother raised him and his younger brother Alexander. They had sold most of the cattle they owned and kept the horses since they were Ed's passion and therapy from horrors of the games. Pinako had continued her business of making prothetics and it made it easier for customers to see her. Edward had left the house and he went to go train his prized horse out in the pasture since he just wanted to forget all that had happened but he promised Sage he would never forget her. He saddled his horse as he always did when he went riding and rode out of the barn that his family still owned. The memories of the games were forgotten for the time being as he galloped through the fields letting peace overcome him."That's not what I do." -- Messenger --
The young boy walked into the victor's village in district ten to Edward Yatsumori's house. It was rare when a victor got any mail, let alone from another district. Edward wasn't there so he left the heavy package with the old woman that he guessed was his grandmother or something. "It's from district 7 for some reason..." He said as he walked away. The envelope and the paper inside was made of unbleached paper straight from District 7. It smelled like all kinds of different trees mixed into one.
-------------------------------------------------
Dear Edward Yatsumori,
First I apologize for this letter getting to you so late. There was difficulties with the Peacekeepers and our mailing service. Second, I want to give you my sincere thanks for taking care of my Sage. I know you care for her even still, I could see it in your eyes. And thank you for staying with her, protecting her, even when she died. I don't know if you noticed but she slipped away with a slight smile on her face, almost identical to her mother's when she died in my arms. I'm not sure if Sage shared this with you but her mother died when Sage was only two weeks old. Influenza was spreading in the district, taking almost half of our population. It infected her mother just a week before Sage was born. We were lucky to keep Sage with us. Stephine (her mother) was watching Sage fall asleep in her crib while her and myself were laying in bed, she said she was happy, with a smile then fell asleep and died moments later in her sleep. In this letter I want to share with you some things I'm pretty sure Sage would have eventually. My sons encouraged me to do this, because Sage would have done this. Her favorite color is green, but she likes golds reds and oranges as well. The colors of leaves basically. She loved flowers any kind she could find. She was afraid of spiders. She was the most generous person I had ever met and I am glad to call her my daughter.
(Along this part of the letter there are tear stains)
She loves berries of any kind, she likes heavy jackets and sweaters. Her favorite shoe are her working boots. She always left her hair down unless she was working on something. She would never let anyone cut her hair, she would always do it herself even when she was only four years old. She was feisty at times but always so sweet. When Sage turned eight she had made a habit of after the reaping going to the houses of the tribute's families and bringing them cookies and keep them company.
I'm sorry, but I don't think I can continue this letter. If you have any questions please ask them I will answer them to the best of my ability. Once again thank you for all you've done.
Sincerely,
Jonathon Tyas
((Attached to the letter there is a small photo album of pictures of Sage and her family. There is a picture of her on her fourteenth birthday just before the reaping. She's wearing a very pretty but simple light orange sundress with work boots. She looked adorable. At the end of the stack there was the picture of her coffin, and another of her headstone in the District 7 cemetery. It was by a cherry tree that had fresh blossoms on it. There were so many flowers and ribbons on it from all the people in district 7 that loved Sage dearly. Along with the pictures and the letter there is a small shoe box filled with some of Sage's prized possessions. On the box there was a little note saying "She would have wanted you to have these"))

"I'm not killing anyone....." "Just keep moving foward. Get up and walk on your own legs. At least you have two good legs to walk on."
Edward Yatsumori District 10 Tribute Edward returned home after a afternoon of riding and Pinako gave the package from district 7 to him, "This was delivered to you Edward." she told him. He went to his room with it and opened the package and read the letter silently as he sat on his bed. Tears started to run down his cheeks as he read it and he pulled the letter to his chest, "I'm so sorry Sage" he whispered and rocked gently back and forth sobbing. Gently he opened the box and looked through Sage's prized possessions then gently placed the items on his wooden mirrored dresser where he would see them every day and stuck them to the edge of the mirror, "Sage of you don't mind if I make a grave for you here too? So you can be here with me?" he wondered outloud. Edward ran out of his room and grabbed a tablet and a piece of paper, "I'll be outside granny" he said and stepped outside glad there were no peacekeepers around. He sat down on the steps and started to write a reply to Sage's father.----------------------------------- Dear Jonathon Tyas,
Thank you for the letter I appreciate it and Sage's personal belongings and photos. I know that I won't be able to talk to you during the tour so I'm replying to your letter. Life here is back to normal except all the bad memories keep returning while I sleep. Jonathon, Sage ment so much to me during the games and even now I give you my thanks and I was wondering if its alright if I make a grave for her here in district 10 so she's close to me as well? I wish she could see this place and I know she would love riding out in the pastures and the leaves here are beautiful in the fall. I want you to know that she saved my life twice the first one was when she made me a bow which was beautiful and the second was when we were bitten by the venomous snakes. I've told my younger brother Alex about her and he sends his condolences to you and your family.
Thanks for everything, Edward Yatsumori. After writing his letter he went back inside and folded the letter and slipped it into an envelope and addressed it to Jonathon Tyas according to the address he received and then wrote his own and district ten, "I'll make something for him and send it with my letter as well." he thought and looked for something to make for Sage's family then it clicked, "I'll carve a horse out of something and wrap it in fine leather.""That's not what I do." Dear Edward,
I'm glad the letter was delivered to you safely. My advice to you to keep bad memories away, is to just keep your mind occupied on other things. Things that make you feel like you're helping, that you have a cause. Try helping some of the people that are in hardship around your district. And as far as making a grave for Sage in your district that is completely alright with me. Sage was a brave and gentle young lady, and I'm glad you can recognize it Edward. Please tell my thanks to your brother, it means so much.
Sincerely,
Jonathon Tyas
((Along with this letter there is another picture of Sage just before the reaping. Only this one was bigger, that's why the package was bigger. It was almost two feet in length and about a foot tall, it was framed with a beautifully carved oak frame. The carvings were of vines and flowers and trees. There was a note attached to the large picture that read "You can put this in or on her grave or just keep it in your home". There was another box full of books and journals that Sage had written and read in her spare time. At the top of some of her books were things that she had carved with extra pieces of wood.))

"I'm not killing anyone....." "Just keep moving foward. Get up and walk on your own legs. At least you have two good legs to walk on."
Edward Yatsumori District 10 Tribute He smiled as he read the next letter and he was happy that he was in contact with Sage's father even when they were in separate districts. During the night he would spend his time carving two intricate horses out of bone for Sage's father and brother in thanks for all items. When he finished he made a groove down the back of the neck and glued real horse hair into it gently creating manes. Edward did the same with the tail only making a hole where he tied the end into a knot and glued the hair into it. Once he was finished he smiled at them and let them dry on his dresser. ----------------------------------- Dear Jonathan Tyas, I've been thinking about what you had said and I help many other ranchers drive their cattle to new pastures as well to slaughter. Your letters have made me feel so much better and I am starting to block out the memories that haunt me so much from the horrors of the Hunger Games. Sage will be in my heart forever and she will not be forgotten. I have made a grave here for her and I will send a picture of it. I carved a stone with her name and that she will be never forgotten on it. I will lay flowers on her grave as much as I can. Jonathon I carved two horses out of bone in thanks for the gifts. If you can could you place one of the carved horses on Sage's grave so I can honor her as well? The other horse is for your family in exchange for Sage's possessions. Alex says you're welcome and he'll do anything he can to help your family. Before she died she gave me her district token, the piece of wood with the tree carved onto it. I wear it constantly as well as my own. I will hang her picture up in my room next to a picture of my family before my mother died. Thanks so much and I have one more thing to ask. Can you lay a rose on Sage's grave with the bone horse carving to let her know that I haven't forgotten her, Edward Yatsumori.Ever so gently Edward took the carved horses that were now dry and looked beautiful and so realistic. He had a piece of very soft leather and put the horses onto it and wrapped them up in a very neat package and tied it together with a newly made rope. He wrote the address on it and sent it off to district 7. "That's not what I do." Health: 100% Hunger: 100% How I am feeling: haunted by those killed and died in the Hunger Games. Love Interest: Sage
