So I received my latest issue of game informer, and apparantly at one point in time they had asked the readers to reply with what videogame villain they would love to play as. As I was skimming through the responses, naturally one of the four replies they published simply said, and I quote:
"Pyramid Head from Silent Hill. I don't think there even needs to be a reason to back this up." - Judi Corvinelli
So now you understand the title of this post mrgreen It always makes me proud to see others bringing Silent Hill into the spotlight, much like we have by making this the biggest and most successful Silent Hill guild on Gaia. So a big personal thanks to Judi for thinking of glorious SH!
So the question must be asked, are there any other Silent Hill enemies you would love to play as, including Pyramid Head, and why?

Walter Sullivan. Pretty much because he's undead. I just feel like when playing him I'd kick so much butt. I love him as a character in general though.

Rainier Silke Walter Sullivan. Pretty much because he's undead. I just feel like when playing him I'd kick so much butt. I love him as a character in general though. I gotta agree biggrin Everytime I have ever played Silent Hill 4 I have always wished there would be like an extra side story where you could play as Walter Sullivan either through his lifetime leading up to the events of the 4th game, or Walter Sullivan DURING the 4th game and how he perceived everything. There's just so much to still learn about and understand with that man! 3nodding

That would be too good to be true if they did a side story. I think I'd just about die lol. I feel like him and Pyramid head are tied as my favorite SH villain.

See I had dreams one time of finding a simple videogame creator program, and trying to create a horror game that would have somewhat been a side story for Walter. Unfortunately even if I had made it, I wouldn't have been able to share it due to copyright laws and all that jazz. And I would have had to make it using like a First Person Shooter software, and that's just not the same feel....

But that was the last one the Japanese team made right? And making it a first person shooter would ruin it ;~;

Rainier Silke Ah. Grrr....if only Konami made an HD version of the room and added that. But that was the last one the Japanese team made right? And making it a first person shooter would ruin it ;~; Exactly, and I love the series too much to ever bring such a disgrace into existence. And yea, Silent Hill 4 was a great final game for them imo. Some fans would argue other games like 2 or 3 would have been better for them to go out on, but 4 has just always been my favorite. It was deep, it was fun, scary, and it really got me to appreciate the finer detail Silent Hill games had. If I had started with any other game, I don't know if I would be as devote and/or as interested in the series as I am today. It was essentially the bedrock of everything I know.

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of people don't care for SH 4, because it had nothing to do with the other ones. 4 was amazing. So much more different than the others. It's unique story -really- kept me interested. Not only that, I felt like there was so much more to learn. The whole mother thing kept me curious. I totally agree with you. SH 4 was what made me fall in love with SH in general.

SH 4 was what made me fall in love with SH in general. Yep, and see to me that's a great part of what SH4 is. It was this unique approach to the game that still felt like Silent Hill. And while we discussed a FPS silent Hill would ruin the series, Henry's first person moments were actually very.... real... and they were very immersive. In first person with surround sound, those nightmares become very real very quick! But I read somewhere once that SH4 wasn't originally a SH game. There were changes made in the final production to make it into a SH game, but even if that were the case they molded a very well rounded SH entry from something completely different. Not only that, it's only "detail oriented" connection to the other games was to a newspaper clipping you find in Silent Hill 2 about a serial killer named Walter Sullivan who had just killed the twins, Billy and Miriam Locane (the twin headed monster).

Yup. I feel like not a lot of people understand that though when they write it off xwx; I also heard that. I find it interesting and honestly very believable. It's still one of the bests...if not the best to me lol. I think they did very well with the story.

It's still one of the bests...if not the best to me lol. I think they did very well with the story. Exactly. All the other SH games had this sort of mystic feeling about them that left a lot of room to the imagination and theorizing... But there were times where at least something of a part of a direct answer would have been nice to understand a particular situation. For instance, the reason why Maria keeps dying over and over in SH2 is very evident to most players, but why James feels such pain and sorrow after seeing her die so many times really needs some kind of assisted answer. SH4 held this same mystical world, but left answers where and exactly WHEN you needed them. And based on the large number of posts I have read on here and in the subforums, there's still more than enough left to the imagination with this game.

I really would have liked to know more about Walter. I understand why he was doing all that stuff, but I want to know what was exactly going on in his head. He was literally brought up to do the task he had been doing his whole life. And I wanted to know why his parents left him, and why he was chosen to be the one to do the 21 sacraments. And I wanted Henry's background too. All we know is that he keeps to himself and has been to silent hill a couple of times. The characters are all so interesting TwT I'd like to add I don't know -too- much about SH 1 and 2. I just know the general story for the 2nd one.

I feel bad for breaking the Walter discussion train sweatdrop But I gotta say I would love to play as Valtiel mostly due to the hilarity one could create. Don't get me wrong his body movements terrified me but once I got used to it it's pretty funny. Just imagine a mini-game of dragging dead bodies into holes and hanging them, creeping around and pretty much being Silent Hill's equivalent to Spider-Man and wall crawling everywhere serving God. And saving the best part for last.......spinning valves.
More of a joke post but still..... I really want to do it xd

See I have thoroughly played Silent Hill 2 many times, but I only just recently bought and began playing Silent Hill 1. My opinions and ideas of the first one are still forming as we speak, but SH2 I'd strongly recommend you playing it sometime 3nodding Oddly enough, the same kind of mysteries and questions surround Pyramid Head as does Walter Sullivan. Both of fascinated me to the point of much studying and gameplay biggrin But you're right in that I would like to know more about Sullivan's past. There are plenty of documents describing his life at Wish House, such as the diary notes written on rocks in Forest World, but there were really only those flashbacks in the Apartment pertaining to his parents. I think more reactions to and from his parents would have added some special to the game.
