Estes Park
Estes Park, located in the Rocky Mountains of the West, is one of the many tourist attractions of Colorado. It's quite beautiful. In the summer the National Park is open to tourists, in the Winters snow falls and paints a pretty picture. Forests frame the mountains, and the town is quite gorgeous.

Snow was falling in Estes Park when the pair arrived. One moment the small alcove hidden in the soft shadows of lamp light was empty, and the next a man and young woman appeared.
Arthur smiled. He hadn't seen fresh, clean mountain snow in so long. The pretty flakes drifted down from a violet-gray sky. He cocked his head. A pub down the road was playing Greensleeves. The air smelled of cinnamon and chestnuts. Christmas time, or Yule, in Estes was known to be quite beautiful. "Welcome to Estes." he murmured, glancing down to catch Set's eyes.

  Setsuna had remained quiet once she and Arthur had arrived in the alcove of Estes Park, though once he had spoken to her, her eyes held traces of shock. However, she was close to speaking her mind about this. Of course there was nothing wrong with being in this place... just the time that her friend had hinted at. "Arthur Pendragon..." she started to say in a slightly stern tone, ready to greatly chide him about the consequences that their presence could have on whatever time period Arthur had landed them in... that is, until a couple of snowflakes landed on her face, distracting her from her huge speech.
The young woman blinked as she looked down at her nose, but the flakes had already melted by this point. Setsuna slowly began paying more attention to the scene around her than the man standing right in front of her. The first time she had seen- and felt- snow was during her first year in New York, and the nostalgic feeling was returning here, for the snow in this place seemed pure, even brilliant among the lamp lights illuminating a few nearby patches. She reached out her hand, disregarding the frigid air as a couple of snowflakes touched it, smiling a little as she watched them melt. However, as she looked at the snow once more, her eyes caught the ribbon wrapped around the lamp post. The sounds of a carol reached her ears, and... were those spices she smelled?
"Arthur Pendragon... " Setsuna spoke once more, this time in an astonished whisper as she gazed wide-eyed at her friend. She had to ask. "What day... is this?"{{Enter from Grei mansion, 2012}} Location: Estes Park, ColoradoThoughts: *speechless*Theme: All Your LifeWell, I don't want the whole world

"December twenty first. Also known as the Winter Solstice." Arthur replied, stepping out into the street and taking Setsuna's arm in his. A few other couples were about, one family stood buying hot chocolate from a stand down the road. As he recalled, there was a winter carnival in the center of town today. That was the current destination, but Setsuna probably had some questions...or perhaps a lecture about the ethics of time traveling, in mind first.
It was odd how snow could be falling, Arthur's breaths came in puffs, and snow fell yet he didn't feel the cold. That was partially and Enmortal trait, and partially because Arthur was fairly happy at the moment. He stopped at the cocoa stall and bought two, arching a brow back at Setsuna. He could only guess what was on her mind right now. "Alright let me have it." he grinned, handing her the cup of cocoa and winking. If she wanted to berate him, now was the time.

December twenty-first... four days before Christmas. They had left the Grei Mansion in November. Setsuna was itching to yell at him right now, but calmed down as Arthur took her arm and led her down the snow covered street. There was an enchanting quality to the area, whether it was from the few people traveling about the area, or from the idyllic atmosphere itself, or from Arthur leading her around like a gentleman. The latter action had brought a small smile to Setsuna's lips, which widened a little more once they had reached the cocoa stand.
After their mugs were bought, Setsuna held her cup of cocoa in her hands, blowing on it to cool the liquid a little before she carefully took a sip, sighing as the rich taste settled onto her tongue. It was so good... but Arthur's reminder of what she was about to say pulled her out of her semi-blissful state. "Not just yet," she replied, taking his arm and pulling him away from the stall, waiting until they were out of earshot range- and sight- to stop. Afterwards, Setsuna began to speak to Arthur in a quiet yet serious tone of voice.
"Arthur Pendragon, what in the world do you think you're doing? I don't have any problem being taken to another place, but being taken back in time? Do you have any idea on how it could affect future events if were cause any changes here? What's gonna happen if we go back to our own timeline? For all we know, the entire planet could be in a completely mess and result in the two of us being the only people left, or global warming could be decimating the Earth, or ape civilization replacing human civilization! How do you know this won't result in some time paradox?"
She was pretty much finished by this point, and after Setsuna took a deep breath to calm down, she looked at Arthur once again. Arthur allowed Setsuna to lead him along, smiling in slight amusement at her sudden surge of focus. He was quiet while she began her lecture, the subject and details of which he had expected. Arthur unabashedly kept her gaze the entire time, eyes twinkling with their usual mirth.
When she finished, Arthur decided to reply with something radically different. He was going to be serious for once."What do I think am I doing?" he echoed. "I'm pretty sure I'm spending the day with a friend." For a moment he paused and took a sip of cocoa. It was delicious.
Clearing his throat, Arthur continued."We're in the year two thousand and two. We won't be altering the timeline, that only happens if you affect yourself in this time or blatantly attempt to change the future. And," for a moment something softened the winking humor in his eyes and his New Yorker accent dropped to his formal, archaic British lilt. "As to why I did it, I thought my best friend might like go back to a time where there wasn't chaos at her doorstep. You know...maybe actually enjoy this without stressful thoughts on her mind." Lord knew they all needed it, Setsuna being one of those who deserved it most.
Suddenly Arthur flushed. He hadn't meant to say something quite so personal. "Uh..." As per usual, he ran a hand through his hair and looked away from her. "But we can go back if you want to Set."

In all honesty, Setsuna was not expecting the answer Arthur was about to give her. To her longwinded speech, he gave a simple and direct explanation. Afterwards, he proceeded in answering all three of her questions. Setsuna had thought it was only a year into the past, but... ten? She would have been about eleven years old at this time! Second, their actions wouldn't affect the timeline... unless they intentionally and blatantly attempted to. She doubted that would happen; besides, what would her eleven year old self be doing in Colorado at this time of he year. However, Arthur's answer to her last question caused his British accent to reveal itself as he spoke.
"As to why I did it, I thought my best friend might like to go back to a time where there wasn't chaos at her doorstep. You know... maybe actually enjoy this without stressful thoughts on her mind."
Setsuna's mouth was shut during those few seconds of silence between them. At that point, guilt was beginning to sink in; Arthur was giving both of them a break from everything bothering them, and she had killed the peaceful mood the minute she had opened her mouth and lectured her friend. All he was trying to do was get her to relax for once. He was right- it was time for Setsuna to stop worrying and start enjoying.
She watched as Arthur's face began turning pink, and of course, he had looked away and ran his fingers through his hair. Though she wasn't going to say it out loud, she though he looked adorable, but after being asked if she wanted to return to their own timeline, Setsuna shook her head without hesitation. "No... I don't want to," she replied as she lowered her head to stare at the ground. "I'm sorry, Art... I didn't realize you were doing this for the both of us. You were right, I've been attempting to give myself gray hairs for a while... I shouldn't have snapped at you like that, and it was wrong of me to do so." She slowly looked at Arthur's face. "Its alright Set." he said quietly, taking her arm again. Arthur almost flinched at the quiet tone, coughing to conceal whatever had been hidden in the words before continuing on. " Besides, I always forgive you." His characteristic cocky grin flashed back in place. "Come on, there's a carnival down the road with our names on it."
Humming along to the Greensleeves melody still playing from the pub, Arthur strolled along with Setsuna at his side. He did love winter. Everything seemed to slow down and relax, grow quiet and contemplative; calm. Too soon the music of the carnival began, a distinctively 'Christmas-y' feel to the tinkling piano music.
The fair grounds were covered in ice blue and gold lights, frosted over from the early night freeze. Small groups of people clinging to cocoa, cider, and various warm treats meandered around to play the games or hide under a white pavilion where couples were dancing. A sleigh stood with two Clydesdales attached to the jingle bell clad reigns. "Feel like doing anything in particular first Setsuna?" the Once King asked, glancing down at Setsuna. He nearly stopped thinking for a moment. With the lights playing on her features, Setsuna looked as if she belonged in the fairyland that had been created. Clearing his throat again, Art turned away and watched a man try the ball throw, waiting for Setsuna's reply.

Setsuna's mood brightened when Arthur reassured her and forgave her, capitalizing it with the trademark grin on his face. She didn't hesitate one single bit when he led her to the carnival, though she attempted to drink the remainder of her hot cocoa during their stroll, enjoying the picture perfect atmosphere. Not even Los Angeles and New York City could even remotely be this peaceful during the winter, and she had only spent about two years in the latter location. However, the music of the carnival broke through the silence... and the sight caused Setsuna's eyes to widen a bit.
The place seemed like it came straight from a fairytale. Stands of warm drinks and treats beckoned to her, while the various attractions caught her attention. She kept looking around at everything, uncertain of which to choose- that is, until she spotted the sleigh and the two Clydesdales it was hitched to. The Christmas season was a perfect setting, for Setsuna was beginning to feel like a little girl all over again. For a second, she nearly began to drag Arthur towards the sleigh, but immediately stopped in her tracks before turning around to face him, slightly blushing in addition. Blinking, Arthur's thought came full circle again."Of course." Arthur chuckled as Setsuna attempted to drag him towards the sleigh."It's your day after all." Well, midafternoon, but hey.
Walking alongside her, Art extended a hand to assist her into the sleigh, nodding to the driver as he did so. Stepping up into the sleigh, he settled into the seat beside Setsuna. The driver winked and handed back a blanket for their use. "Couples ride free."Arthur glanced up from smoothing out the blanket when the man spoke. "We're not-" he began until the sleigh lurched forward, steeds nickering as the clopped through the snow. They weren't a couple...right? Arthur sighed and glanced side long at Setsuna. At least she was enjoying the ride.

"You mean our day... I don't want you to be bored to death while I'm having fun," Setsuna grinned as they reached the sled. Like a gentleman, Arthur helped her onto the sleigh before he sat beside her, though she didn't have time to mentally question the driver's wink before he said that couples received a free ride. Setsuna blinked in response. A couple? We're just friends... yeah, just friends... As the sleigh continued on its path, Setsuna chuckled a bit as a thought entered her mind- what if they passed some houses and Arthur would see her whipping her head left and right like crazy just to stare at the Christmas decorations? That would be awkward, but at least it would be fun. Upon catching her friend looking at her, Setsuna smiled a bit. "Do you think the driver would mind if we started singing Christmas carols all of a sudden?" she bantered, her eyes still lingering on his. Arthur's eyes gleamed with something incalculable as Setsuna spoke. He wasn't sure why, but he particularly liked her use of the word 'our'. As the sleigh moved along, Arthur settled back against the cushioned leather seat as it quickly warmed from their body heat. Occasionally his gaze would flicker back to Setsuna. She caught him at it after awhile, asking a question and catching his gaze. "Oh, I don't think he'd mind. After all, I am a brilliant singer." he grinned, a trickster glint in his eyes.
Abruptly he burst into a rowdy singing of 'Winter Wonderland'."Sleigh bells ring! Are ya listening?..." The horses nickered, tossing their heads as if to accent the point as their bells jingled. Art beamed and inclined his head towards Setsuna, resting his elbows against the top of the seat and leaning back. "This is Christmas, my dear Set. Random bouts of song and dance are to be expected." The Once-King said matter-of-factly.

Setsuna laughed a bit as Arthur suddenly burst out one line of Winter Wonderland. Of course, she had to admit that he was an excellent singer, but she didn't actually expect him to just automatically start singing right then and there. Then again, it was Arthur; anything unexpected from him was pretty much normal for Setsuna, who couldn't help but grin back at her friend. "As the saying goes... 'anything you can do, I can do better'," she replied, right before finishing the verse of the song- albeit more calmly. "...In the lane, snow is glistening... a beautiful sight, we're having tonight, walking in a Winter Wonderland..."
She sighed happily as she leaned back in her seat, blissfully staring up at the sky for a few minutes. Afterwards, she broke the silence between her and Arthur as she looked at her friend once again. "Arthur... thank you for bringing us here. I mean, this place is just... incredible," she smiled, Though there seemed to be a hint of hesitation at the end of her statement. Arthur listened contently to Setsuna's singing, enjoying the rich alto tone. Morgaine used to sing like that. For a moment his eyes clouded over, remembering a Yuletide far, far back in the history of this world. The moment Setsuna spoke again, a serious hint to her words, Arthur blinked, the vision of the Great Hall of Camelot a lit with fire and music fading.
He smiled softly at her words, eyes glittering with the misty evanescent gleam of memories."Made all the more incredible by you of course." he said quietly, voice a bit gruff. Once again, he quickly hid a blush and made to brush aside such serious thoughts with a wicked smile. He was reaching, and didn't want to ruin what was happening with a slip of the tongue. "I think I'll have fun picking that one." He had his eyes on a certain teddy bear to win for Set. Who went to a fair and left without one, right? The driver turned back as they neared the return to the fair grounds. "Pleasure drivin' you."
Arthur smiled and nodded his thanks. "A happy Christmas to you." he smiled, stepping from the carriage to offer Setsuna his hand.

A slight blush had colored Setsuna's cheeks for a second once Arthur responded to her thanking him. Strangely enough, the reason she had hesitated earlier was because of her thought at the time; she was about to say that Arthur was likewise incredible. Nevertheless, he had agreed to choose the next activity just as the sled returned to the fairgrounds.
After the driver had stopped, Setsuna meticulously folded up the blanket and placed on the seat before she smiled at the driver. "Thank you, and I hope you have a Merry Christmas," she replied before taking Arthur's hand and stepping out of the sleigh. The smile hadn't faded from her lips yet as she walked with him further into the carnival; her friend was quite the gentleman. "All right, your turn," she said, right as she noticed something in her hand. It wasn't until Setsuna looked down at it that caused her to blush a bit more- she had held onto Arthur's hand the whole time. "S-Sorry about that," she nervously added, gently slipping her hand away from Arthur's and trying to figure out why she didn't let go earlier.
